Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann says a transfer to Manchester United is 'possible', adding there is a 'six out of 10' chance he will move to Old Trafford this summer.

The 26-year-old France forward was speaking on French TV show Quotidien.

"I think I will decide [on my future] in the next two weeks," he said.

Asked if United would be his new club he replied: "Possible, possible." Asked to give the chances on a scale of one to 10, Griezmann added "six".

The presenter replied: "It's the first time you've said that." And Griezmann replied "it's the first time."

Griezmann, who has won 41 caps for France since making his debut in 2014, scored 26 goals this season as Atletico finished third in La Liga.

He was named the third best player in the world behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the Ballon d'Or awards in January.

There is a 100 million euro (£86m) release clause in Griezmann's contract.

United have the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League on Wednesday against Ajax in Stockholm.

He will wait to see if Utd beats Ajax before deciding.

He is a brilliant striker but not worth £85+ million. He wont find it easy in the premiership due his build.

Hasn't hampered Aguero .. MU becoming a team of stars but look a long way from a cohesive side.

Griezmann signs Atletico extension.

Antoine Griezmann has signed a contract extension at Atletico Madrid until 2023, days after rejecting a move to Barcelona.

Griezmann drew criticism from both Barcelona and Atletico fans for revealing his decision in an hour-long documentary broadcast on Spanish TV station Movistar.

Atletico fought to keep Griezmann, who almost joined Manchester United last summer, according to Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague

Antoine Griezmann risked angering both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona supporters after confirming his future with an extraordinary documentary, according to Guillem Balague.

Griezmann was offered £17.5m to stay and the promise of a £100m improvement of the squad in order to compete for next season's top titles.

Thomas Lemar is set to be the first of those arrivals, with Atletico confirming they have agreed terms with the player and are the deal is now only subject to him passing a medical and finalising terms with Monaco.

Thomas Lemar has now agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid.

The two clubs had reached a "preliminary agreement" over a deal for Lemar last week, Atletico said.

Griezmann, currently with the France squad at the 2018 World Cup, has now demonstrated his commitment to Atletico by adding another year to his contract after meeting with the club's chief executive, Miguel Angel Gil Marin,in Russia.

Greizmann scored in France's opening game of the tournament, a 2-1 win over Australia.

His team-mate for club and country, Lucas Hernandez, also penned a new deal until 2024 following the meeting

he has wasted his career staying at ath madrid.

He should have moved to barca - however if his decision was - that by joining barca he wont be the main man and have to play in the neymar role which he doesn't want to play.

He should have joined Juve, as juve have already stated that higuain can move for 50m euros plus this summer, juve need a faster direct striker

Antoine Griezmann: Barcelona sign Atletico Madrid forward

Barcelona have signed France forward Antoine Griezmann from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid after paying his 120m euro (£107m) buyout clause.

The 28-year-old World Cup winner has signed a five-year contract with the Spanish champions.

Griezmann joined Atletico from Real Sociedad in 2014 and scored 133 goals in 256 appearances.

He signed a new five-year deal in June 2018 but announced in May he would be leaving the club this summer.

Never been impressed by him to be honest.

He's vastly overarted and not worth £180 million which A Madrid want.

Barca are desperate to win the CL.

Bye bye to Coutinho from the club he left Liverpool for after arguing with Klopp:)):)) No one wants Couts now it seems, as they say be careful for what you ask for in case you get it:moyo2 Barca again have tapped up Antoine from Athletico like they always do all their signings say his former club. Even that couldn't buy them the Champions League last season:))):)))

Griezmann is a great player, but I wonder if he is compatible with Messi. It would be incredible if Barca still manage to bring Neymar back.

He is not a special player but consistent and smart. Them oney he is being bought for sounds crazy

I am a big fan of both Barcelona and Griezmann. I am glad he moved there.

Messi and Griezmann - what a combo!

Lets see how this works. Don't know how you fit Messi , Suarez,Coutinho , and Griezmann in the same team.

Coutinho will most probably be sold or will be loaned, and surely Dembele will go on loan as well if Neymar arrives. Malcolm is out as well.

Suarez will accept a less prominent role at the age of 32. He doesn’t have the legs anymore to maintain intensity all season long.

Messi, Neymar and Suarez upfront with the best young CM in the world, probably the best CM in the world (de Jong) at the moment pulling the strings. Sounds absolutely mouthwatering.

Defense needs work though, but they have the best GK in the world alongside Allison.

La Liga looks done and dusted already, but you never know with the Champions League.

France's Griezmann retires from internationals

France forward Antoine Griezmann has announced his retirement from international football.

The Atletico Madrid player, 33, made 137 appearances for his country, scoring 44 goals, and helped them win the 2018 World Cup, converting a penalty in the final as France beat Croatia 4-2 in Moscow.

He also won the 2021 Nations League with his country.

"It is with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolour adventure and see you soon," he said in a video posted on social media.

"After 10 incredible years marked by challenges, successes and unforgettable moments, it is time for me to turn a page and make way for the new generation.

"Wearing this jersey was an honour and a privilege."

Griezmann started for France in a 3-1 Nations League defeat by Italy in September before his last appearance came as a substitute in a 2-0 win against Belgium three days later.

He has revealed his decision prior to the next international break in October when France play Israel and Belgium in the Nations League.

Griezmann has been a key member of the France squad under manager Didier Deschamps since making his debut under him in 2014.

He was top scorer at Euro 2016 with six goals as hosts France finished runners-up, losing to Portugal in the final.

Griezmann also played in the 2022 World Cup final when France were beaten on penalties by Argentina after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

He missed out to Kylian Mbappe in March 2023 in being named captain of his country following the retirement of Hugo Lloris, with Griezmann admitting to finding the decision "tough" to take, external before going on to play at Euro 2024.

However, France struggled for form at the tournament in Germany and were beaten by eventual winners Spain in the semi-finals.

"We've had a long discussion about [his retirement] recently," said Deschamps. "Since his debut in the France team 10 years ago we've had a relationship based on trust and frankness.

"Even if his club career is not over, Antoine will remain a monument of French football, one of the greatest players in its history.

"It was often said that he was my favourite. We indeed had built a very strong relationship, that will remain intact. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything, Grizou."

Mbappe, who now plays for Real Madrid after leaving Paris St-Germain in the summer, called Griezmann "one of the most important players of the modern era in our selection".

He added: "Thank you for the unforgettable memories you gave us, you supported this team for years and greatly contributed to bringing it to the top with numerous titles.

"I will never forget the honour and pleasure it was to play alongside you for so many years."
