I am sorry but I am starting to think that the Pakistan owners have brought in some of their flawed thinking to the table in selections in the T20 Global League draft!

Wahab Riaz and Anwar Ali! Surely there were better picks? Infact Wahab was the first pick! Surely the CT must have opened some eyes in regards to Wahab in LOIs?

And what about Anwar Ali? Are these the best the world can offer for the South Africa's premier league?

Anwar Ali was picked by Nelson Mandela Bay Stars and I don't think their owner is Pakistani. Anwar did well on his only tour to SA, that's the only logic I think of that explains his selection.

The team that selected Anwar Ali is owned by someone called Ajay Sethi

To be fair to both, far more mediocre players have been chosen by teams. General standard of international players is not that high and in BPL it has actually risen even above PSL, which I could have never expected. Also, I think Wahab is actually a good bowler in T20s.

Anwar and wahab rightly deserves to be selected as both can bat and accelerate as well. Infact anwar did win matches through his batting.

Its umar akmal who got selected by reason beyond any sense excet corruption.

Anwar Ali is right down pathetic selection meanwhile wahab has been proving his mettle in t20s in PSL he was best bowler even in this years's cpl he picked up wickets.Wahab is an enforcer he can provide breakthroughs in middle overs.

A lot of these T20 signings are done as backhand deals between owners and agents. A case of you scratch my back and I will scratch yours.

Anwar Ali on Pakistan an ODI series in South Africa

Only Asian side in history to win a series in SA

not true at all. Int talent pool in PSL is far greater than the ones in BPL

Wahab can be a decent enforcer in t20. The fact he only needs to bowl four overs means he can really crank it up which is likely to be effective on the SA pitches.

Anwar Ali is a bit more of a puzzle, but I suppose a seam bowling AR will always be an asset in t20. Even if he is second rate.

This crank it up theory was good in initial years of wahab. This theory has already cost pak important matches and in SA he 'll get spanked all over the park for sure. As far as Anwar ali if he bowls smartly with cutters and variations he may succeed.

As they were the best available options, this league doesn't have too many star players.

Clearly you haven't seen BPL's international talent pool this season

I have and it doesn't match PSL.

Even if it did it would be like the chinese super league (in football) version of cricket, where the domestic players are a bunch of minnows, so makes no difference really.

If you listen to KP's in-depth analysis of the PSL he goes into some detail about the quality of the players especially the bowling talent.
