I think, I lot of people will relate to how our hearts are in Mouth when Hafiz and co come to open. Most of our batsmne are so shaky that an outside edge:hafeez2 or a brain ****:uakmal is just waiting to happen.

I am always so uneasy when we bat especially when we chase.

So, which batsman if any(:danish) makes you feel assured that by the time you come back brnging pop corn he would be still there. Some foreign exmaples could include Kohli or AB or Amla etc

But my question is about Pakistan, any format. I feel Younis(only tests) and Misbah comes close to this ideal. Other candidates could include Sarfraz.??

I am never comfortable when Malik is smashing, anytime he could throw it away. Junior is the same case too and Afridi less said better.

We really deserve some mentally capable batsmen. Its nerve racking!

Our whole middle order in UAE (only) Tests.

Besides that, no one really comes to mind.

Harris sohail is the one who I feel will do really well after his injury and I know he was not able to converted his starts into big score but the calmness he provides is very good

Honestly, there is no solid batsmen in the team right now. Malik and Sarfraz have shown some composure so atleast we know they can handle some pressure. Everyone else just crumbled like we saw yesterday. Why in the hell are our batsmen so nervous? Besides some of them being actual hacks.

From the opponent's point of view, I feel very safe whenever any Pakistani batsman are at the crease.

Some pak fans have nerve to mock Rohit's achievement in the last 2 yrs. I bet no one in Pakistan team can do even 50% of what Rohit has achieved in last 2 yrs in loi.

Sarfraz Ahmed. He has a lot of technical flaws but atleast he has enough grit to stay on the crease. He's proven this time and time again in test matches but he needs to do this more in LOIs. He should bat higher up the order.

Malik is the best of what you currently have. But he struggles against good bowling unit as per some of the folks here.

And Babar Azam, although I've only seen very little of him, he seems a guy who looks comfortable at the crease. I would say Haris Sohail but I've seen that guy fail to get his score to get past 50 so many times

Think about this, these pak batsmen are struggling against average bowling attacks like bangla or ind. Think about facing aus, sa or eng. I don't see them beating aus,sa or eng despite of wickets being flat in india.

The thing is our selectors and coaches have no clue on how to manage the team and how to utilize players. A player gets tossed out for a series then he comes back for 3-4 months and the cycle repeats...

If you have guts remove the top three batsmen PERMANENTLY and put faith in your youngsters to deliver. We are in #9 in odis.. it really can't get worse than this.

Also, PCB should really invest more money on development of emerging cricketers instead of hiring foreign coaches for matured cricketers who won't change much.

In onedayers only Azam right now.

In tests Azhar,Misbah,Younis and Asad.

Haris sohail and babar azam . but more haris sohail. Whenever he bats i am sure he wont be troubled by any bowler.

The confidence that you feel as an opponent at the sight of Pakistani batsmen is pretty amazing. You just know you have to put the ball in the right areas and they will do nothing at it, either a lucky slog that goes for 4, 6 or an unlucky slog that goes into the hands of the fielder, or they will just fai at it entirely.

Constantly Learning is most important thing and accepting and correcting your faults is as important.

I was watching a pakistani cricket show last night, the host said when shoaib asked kohli why doesnt he give batting tips to pakistani players then kohli said that pakistani players talk to him about everything in the world except batting.

another incident they mentioned that when ahmad shehzad met yourvraj in a hotel elevator then he asked him how come YV was not making any runs. lol

I feel about Younis and Misbah when spinners are bowling to them in Tests in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah.

:))) is this for real??? Shehzad never ceases to amaze us.

Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq are two batsmen from the younger crop who look solid. Both would have been ideal on these bowling friendly pitches. But then would you rely on them to score a 30 ball 50 on a flat track?

In the UAE - YK and Misbah

Abroad - unfortunately no one...

Babar azam . just needs one big innings to kick start his test career. and haris sohail ofcourse..

Used to be Misbah but alas he now seems the least safe. Don't feel safe with any of them right now. The exception would be Azhar but only after he has negotiated a few overs.

Honestly I always expect a few runs from Sarfraz. Even if they're not big runs. Azhar for obvious reasons. Babar in ODIs.

I agree with the Sarfraz point. If he stays for some time. I always trust runs to come

He is such a vital part of our test team and crucial in UAE where he can accelerate on will

Once we get back to our comfort zone, Azhar, Sami and Babar will all be reliable run-makers. With Haris, Shafiq and perhaps Fawad completing the top six, it will be a pretty solid lineup until 2018, when we tour South Africa.

I dont feel safe with Babar at the crease at all. He just seems tentative a lot. Like he would drive one gracefully only to poke at the very next one.
He was like that in ODIs as well before his one big score against windies. I expect the same to happen in tests. He just needs one hundered. Hopefully hecl can get it in the 3rd test.

In tests its Azhar , rest are still too inconsistent.

He only struggles against good sides when outside ASIA
...
to OP
SHAHID AFRIDI is the one you feel really safe about...therefore you didn't actually took him into account

Tests: Azhar
ODI: Azam (for the time being, still has lots to prove)
T20: Imad W

Accurate as it gets, really.
