What's new

Any PPers moved back to Pakistan?

Out of curiousity, those familiar with the job markets in Pak and Middle East, is an MBA valued more than a Engineering/CS degree? I'm currently enrolled in an MSE program and thinking about doing an MBA from NYU stern. Also, what should be your target from an skills point of view in an MBA program? My seniors have told me not to go for an MBA until I get to management level position because the stuff I would learn there would not apply to anything I'm currently doing.

engineering/cs is a different field so im not sure how to compare

lot of folks in engineering/CS eventually go for an mba to get into management positions in their own field

Yes it does, but only after people have gained 5-7 years of technical experience. If you do a MBA before that then it is a waste of time and money.

Karachi is so different in many ways, but still the same. :sarf

Food is so good, specially in comparison to Egypt. :inzi

Did you immigrate to those countries or just went abroad to study? How was the overall experience when you came back? How long did it take to adjust? What sort of barriers did you face? How did you find the job market to be?

Immigrate I guess but unique circumstances. Still studying.

Overall experience good, so far. Only been away 9 years so not all that long.

Takes some time to get used to things whenever you're accustomed to another system, but when you've already experience it before, it's easier.
