I live in Singapore and someone recommended a chinese drama they are sort of like pakistani dramas usually end in 13-21 episodes. Have to watch with subtitles of course. I am on the 7th episode of this show it is a police procedural type of show. It has a different feel than western shows but I have to say I like it so far.

I am not sure what the attraction is of Mandarin dramas! Is the storyline interesting?

Well that was my first Mandarin show they have their own culture so that alone makes the show a bit different from western shows. Plus unlike western shows most of their dramas are based on novels like pakistani dramas so end in one season. I can't say the show was mind blowing or anything but it was something different after years of western police procedurals that last for years it was interesting to watch a show that actually had an end. Yes the story was interesting although you could feel in some of the dialogue Chinese government propaganda.

I hear Korean dramas are pretty good, not that I have watched any Asian dramas. Anime is enough for me
