Are Test matches reaching their conclusion within 3 days the new norm?

I must say this is the current trend we see these days with test matches.

In the T20 era, the value of defensive batting has lost precedence. Batsmen these days likes to feel the bat on ball and the days of old fashioned leaves are gone. Also batsmen these days have a tendency of playing too many shots and not respect the conditions.

Except for Test matches in the UAE or some Indian venues may be which are grave yards for bowlers, are we saying three day test matches will be the new norm ?

It's fine, if a test match ends in 3 days it means there was assistance for the bowlers, which makes it entertaining to watch. If it ends in 5 days, chances are that the picth was flat, which means the first 2-3 days were probably a snooze fest (happens far too often in the UAE). IMO 4 days is the sweet spot, there will be enough in it for the bowlers, but it's still possible to bat on.
