Are there any good right-arm fast bowlers in Pakistan's domestic cricket?

Looking at the recently concluded one day series vs england it is quite clear that pakistan is lacking a quality right arm fast bowler with the ability to bowl with new and old ball. Anwar ali isnt good enough to open the bowling. Sohail khan was decent but I think he is too balky and prone to injury plus time isnt on his side.

Sohail Khan

Ali Imran Pasha

Atif Jabber

Mohammad Abbass

Amaad Butt

Hassan Ali

Shehzad Azam Rana

Hassan Ali to me looks the best prospect. Love his action. A proper bowler.

Another good one is someone I've known for some time. Very Pat Cummins like, 17 year old Bilal Shah Afridi. Super fast bowler.

Khuda ka naam lou bhaee. Dou seconds mein pat cummins and superfast bana diya. Sadqay jawaan. That was a bullet stroke.
axl100mph has seen him bowl and also spoke to him. He also knows a couple of sports journalists and one who works for 2 channels and also gave his expert opinion on tens ports pre match.

I think we are missing some good spinners in one day .... our middle overs of bowling are so dull and boring

Difference between some time and 'a very long time' don't you think?

Don't worry about sports journalists. I know many top sports cricket journalists.

I've known Bilal Afridi for a few months now. I've seen videos of him bowling and his action resembles Pat Cummins. A natural.

Dude, dont teach me the subleties of the english language.
I am literate enough to decipher what that use of 'sometime' meant in the context of use.

While living in US, I try to follow Pakistan's domestic cricket closely, but not able to watch many cricketers, bowlers other than in International games. So don;t claim to be an expert but over the last 7-8 years or so , I have liked only two under 19 Rt arm fast bowlers, with good physique, run up, action and pace and thought they would play for Pakistan soon, but looks like they have lost to the wilderness since.

Will appreciate if someone gives some update of these two.

Imran Ali Pasha----------Used to play for PIA.

Adil Raza ,----------------used to play for UBL

Mohammed Ali
Has a RPO just over 4 in list A cricket.
Got his team into one of the finals by bowling a spell of 6 overs for 12 runs.
Got dropped for the final because it was being televised.

Imran Ali Pasha----------Used to play for PIA.

Adil Raza ,----------------used to play for UBL

Adil Raza was among top 10 , 12 wicket takers in the second last season. He plays for Wapda. Has a decent Fc career but not better than many. This season he is very disappointing.

Ali Imran Pasha was close to national selection 4 years ago as he was highest wicker taker. PIA got into semi final or final and match was to be televised. He got an injury but PIA still picked him might be on his insistence of match being televised or PIA management thought eveb 70 80 % fit ali imran is worth it. He did not bowl well in only that game and his injury worsened. He had to undergo a surgery and he was out of the game for 3 years.

Last year he made a comeback to qea trophy and was among the top 5 wicket takers despite playing 2 , 3 less games than top wicket taker.

The key point to note was that Ali Imran Pasha took two 10 wicket halls and 4,5 fivefers in last QEA and he had the best average and strike rate among all fast bowlers in both silver and gold league.

The biggest injustice made was that he was not selected for any team of Pentangular cup while he deserved to be selected surely. Inferior pacers were selected but he wasn't selected.

PIA got relegated last season and this year in the qualifying round Ali Imran Pasha was again among the wickets.

Again PCB'S and selectors injustice that they adjusted good players whose department or region did not qualify in other regions teams but they again did not draft Ali Imran.

Ali Imran Pasha's Fc strike rate is 38,39 which proves that he is a Strike bowler.

The bowler who had the best average and strike rate in last QEA trophy both silver and gold league is not playing QEA trophy.

He is still fast medium.

Yeah I know Bilal Shah Afridi too. We used to play ball back in the day. Was a natural at that too. His layup looked like Michael Jordan's.

Had a very good shooting arm, so I'm not surprised he's bowling like Pat Cumin.

Hasan Ali has impressed me the most! My favourite upcoming right arm pacer! Nowadays I am more excited for him than Amir's return!

Action looks like milne doesnt it?
As per himself, the fastest he has clocked is 138 and he was easily the most impressive of the lot that attended wasim's camp

Neither.

His load up is longer than both but it is side-on like Milne's. Extension of the front arm is similar to Cummins but higher and doesn't drive the front arm with the same force.

Doesn't have their jump or footblock thus doesn't drive his action with the same force over his front leg.

The run-up isn't as fluent because he isn't the same level athlete but has longer levers. Needs to strengthen his footblock and core to maximize the longer levers and make his action more compact. He is leaking a lot of energy.

Mir Hamza is one but I think he should be in for Rahat in tests.

He's a left armer dost :ahmed

On an unrelated note, when I began bowling as a left armer as a kid my dad told me to bowl with my right hand instead because the left hand is ganda and used for bathroom purposes. I didn't listen and continued bowling as a left armer.

He was prob joking since our culture makes such a big deal of these things, but I wish I had listened. Would've had a shot for the international team as a right armer :sanga

He doesnt have long levers.
Is not particularly tall as I hv met him in person
Would be around 5 '11.

Irrespective of the technical shortcomings you mentioned, he looks the most promising of the new lot.
Certainly at 17, there is something to work with here

Oh, my bad lol

are any of these Hassan Abbas,Ali imran pasha actually fast ?
I mean do they bowl in late 130s to early 140s ?
Bhatti type of pace ?

Long levers in comparison to his height. His body is more loose-limbed than theirs.

It was a direct comparison to those two. Did not mean he has extremely long arms.

What other bowlers have you watched?

Hassan bowls 133+ and can touch 86 87 mph.

Amaad Butt bowls 135+ and can touch 88 89 mph.

Ali Imran and Abbass bowl 137+ and can hit 88 89 kph but Abbass can clock few at 90+mph too.

He was clocked at 140kph during Wasim Akram camp. and TalentSpotterPk he has told me. This is his name.

Ali Imran Pasha's case is an unfortunate one, a prime example of what's wrong with our domestic cricket set up. A talent watsed. When I saw him playing aginst India under 19 In 2004 Semi-Final and the wayhe bowled against like of Dhawan, Raina and Uthapa, I was very impressed. He had everthing to make a complete fast bowler and was expected to Play International cricket soon. Had the pace, hight 6-1, good action and smooth run up but probably did not have any "back".

I think Sohail Khan is the best option.

Sohail Khan has the same problem, no pace. He looks like a great fast bowler until ball leaves his hand.

Nobody had troubled the highest run scorer of the tournament shikhar dhawan uptil than but ali imran did. He has height of 6-3 and an action and runup hybrid of Zahid and Bond. Commentators were very excited and impressed about him. Unfortunately he should have been playing for any regional team or a department team as a guest player. He may have a chance to prove himself again in domestic List A tournament.

Hope he does well in U19 WC. I thought his name is Mohammad Bilal Shah and the other U19 boy is Sameen Gul Afridi.

Looks more milne than cummins

# Teri yaad Aaee teray jaanay k baad

# Meri Teri Joarhee Toarh di gaee

# Hope your masters is going really well

Bilal Shah definitely has an action very similar to Adam Milne. Spot On.

In just his first Grade 2 game of Career he has taken a fivefer against POL.

Provided he and Ali Imran remain fit they are definitely going to be a force for PIA and PIA will qualify for inter department qualifying round aswell as proceed to QEA main round. Because these two will be too hot to handle for any team.

It's not like Milne or Cummins. You could say a combination of both but their actions are more compact.

I like his action. In my view it has definitely got more resembleness with Milne and I expect him to touch 150 kph in an year or two provided he does not get a back or knee injury.

He's not touching 150. Not generating enough force, a lot of improvement will need to be made to get anywhere near there.

This should be our ODI bowling attack:

1. Amir
2. Sohail Khan
3. Hassan Ali
4. Asghar
5. Malik

Backup: Wahab, Junaid Khan, Usama Mir

Ehsan Adil
Talha
M Sami
Hassan

these are probably the best in my opinion.

There are two outstanding prospects.

The new Sialkot captain makes his debut today. He is 6 foot 4, very accurate and gets deviation from the seam and unusual bounce at around 127-132K. His name is Mohammad Asif.

The other outstanding one is Ehsan Adil: he's now consistently getting the pace and bounce of Josh Hazlewood, just hasn't yet got the mastery of line and length.

No other right arm quicks should be considered.

Ehsan Adil should be our Test right arm quick. Mohammad Sami in LOIs. I'm not quite convinced that Ehsan has the skills to play LOI cricket.

Bilal Shah Afridi definitely bowling few deliveries above 140 kph these days.

Always good to see pacers running in.

Azhar Mahmood please add him & Waqas to the Camp.

Bench strength in the pace bowling department is very strong at the moment, which is fantastic news with the World Cup only a year away.

However the list is dominated by left-armers, with Hassan Ali being the only right arm specialist pace bowler.

In terms of right armers, it seems Ahmed Bashir is the most ready and most deserving (had an excellent domestic season).

It's a shame Ehtisham Sultan is not even playing domestic cricket.

Aqib Javed said Sultan was ready to play for Pakistan, but then couldn't be bothered to back up his words and help him secure a domestic team.

LOL! Mohammed Abbas?? Yeah he bowls those 90mph thunderbolts every time he comes to bowl sometimes even 95mph. He is lightning fast.
