Are we expecting too much of Haris Sohail when he comes back?

I think maybe the best thing that has happened to Haris' career has been the injury he got. Ever since that his stock has reached an all time high.

His reputation for no reason keeps getting better and better with each passing game and is through the roof now.

The fact is that he has some good scores against Zimbabwe at home and some fighting 40s against Bangladesh. Asides from that you have to go through a whole year to find a meaningful knock.

I agree that he looks a million dollars when he plays but the fact is at the end of the day he is a Pakistani batsman so it is ridiculous and even unfair for people to paint him as some sort of batting superstar we are missing. There was an equally good chance of him scoring 20s and 30s and then getting out in this series. Azhar was looking even better in the games Haris seemed to have turned around.

We are putting too much pressure on the lad.

Think it will take him some time to regain form as he won't have played cricket for a long time due to the injury.

So yes, he shouldn't be bashed straight away if he fails after making a comeback.

He has problems with strike rotation as well. He's a good stroke maker but does get stuck against good bowlers.

It may make a small difference but the problems seem deeper.

I expect him to be better than Rizwan or Malik overseas. Not sure that's huge expectations.

He will take time to regain form, but also when he is batting he needs to start getting bigger scores rather then throwing away starts, also the fact he can bowl means we can stop persisting with bits and pieces garbage we have picked in this ODI series.

Yeah we are. Just look at azhar. In terrific form prior to the week he took off for religious purposes, and then was v rusty after he got back.

Haris has been out for months so we have to show some patience... nvm we are pak fans after all :misbah.

At this stage a 30-40 at one-down is looking golden..

Pak fans dont want to delve into the complicated batting issues our team has, so to makr it simple we pin our hopes on one person, who is "the chosen one". It's like all of us Pakistani fans are Princess Fiona locked in a tower guarded by a dragon, and each of these batsmen we pin our hopes on to make us world class is our prince charming.. so far they've all fallen to the dragon (U Akmal, Maqsood, Iftikhar)

Can Haris Sohail be our Shrek? :afridi

Saj the real question is if we can even expect him back any time soon. Where on earth is he?

I have always rated him as the best Pakistani batting talent along with Babar since I first saw him in a t20 for Sialkot in 2010-2011. So for me expectation is same as ever.
Should have been selected in 2012 in tests.

He is one class batsman and is typically a left hand version of Babar Azam, I hope he plays well on his comeback.

btw I have more expectations from Haris the test batsman than Haris teh odi batsman. Tests he will rule the world. Just needs chances.

We're expecting too much and will crucify him if he does not live up to these delusional expectations.

I'm not sure what people are expecting but Haris' job is to form run-a-ball partnership with Babar in the middle overs. He's very well capable of that. Unlike the other minnow-bashers, he's capable of holding his own against the highest quality of bowling.

Who do you rate higer ? Babar or Haris ?

Should give him a good run, he shouldn't be judged on the performances of CT 2017. Though i think he is more suitable for the longer format

now that haris is back, all we need is an aggressive opener and we would be a pretty competitive limited overs side. if only we had an aggressive left handed batsman.

sigh.

To me, I think Umer Amin should have been given a chance but we are stuck with Haris hopefully he does good for Pakistan. I don`t think he will be getting a match in first place. On the other hand we have an added medium pacer (Everyone know how handy a medium pacer can be in English conditions) good batsman and an excellent fielder

I strongly believe in rewarding domestic performance and I think Umar Amin should have been picked ahead of Harris. He is in top form, fitter , better fielder and a handy part time bowler.

Biggest question is can he displace hafeez at 4. Otherwise a pointless selection. Especially if he has to bat at 6

Expectations are very high for him despite having missed well over a year due to injury. Its not easy to simply pick up where you left off, but he has played the Emerging Players Cup and the Pakistan Cup so I wouldn't worry too much about him being undercooked.

Was unimpressive in the 2015 WC but he's had a stop start career so far, let's see how he does with an extended run in the team.
