In today’s India, two realities coexist: the televised fantasy of a “new India” filled with nationalist pride, and the untelevised truth of daily Muslim persecution — lynchings, arrests, and hate. Muslim suffering is either ignored or turned into public entertainment, normalising cruelty.

Violence against Muslims has become a political performance, where even peaceful acts like saying “I love Muhammad” are criminalised, while hate rallies go unchecked. Economic boycotts, such as “jihadi-mukt bazaars,” destroy Muslim livelihoods as media justifies them.

Leaders like Yogi Adityanath openly vilify Muslims, while even opposition parties echo soft Hindutva. As a result, Muslims have been reduced from citizens to suspects — watched, judged, and silenced.

Echoing Mahmood Mamdani’s idea of the “good” and “bad” Muslim, India now tolerates only those who stay invisible; those who assert dignity are branded criminals. Hatred has become collective entertainment, and when cruelty becomes normal, democracy stands on the edge of fascism.

The question that remains is — how long can a nation survive when its conscience turns its back on its own people?

Hang on, am I missing something? Is there a communal riot going on India? Last time I heard there was a Pak-Afghan war going on between 2 Muslim countries and protestors who were protesting for Gaza were shot down by Pak police majority if not all of them would be Muslims, I am assuming.

As someone said Irfan Pathan or many such seem to be doing very well for themselves, so what’s the problem? India will deal with Indian citizens be it Hindus, muslims or any other religious group based on our secular law and constitution.

Now people will run down against Al Jazeera just because they are at the forefront of highlighting the atrocities against Muslims in India. Certainly things were a lot better before, but advent of Modi led BJP marked a new dawn of far right oppression against Muslims.

Shhh!!! Let people feel good about being in Pakistan while ignoring the killings in their own country.

Incidents of Harassment of Muslims is a reality in India. But we will never go down the route of gunning down Muslims en masse like Pakistan does. Its a title they will hold forever.

Why will anyone trust Al Jazeera? I am yet to see from Al Jazeera about the mass executions of Palestinians who they suspect were traitors. The brutality was something to behold. Only ISIS can match that.
But Al Jazeera eagerly reports some sporadic incidents of Muslim harassment in India.

There is a reason why Al Jazeera is considered a joke of a news outlet.

Al-Jazeera has more credibility than any Indian media. :inti

It's okay if sanghis do not like Al-Jazeera. Al-Jazeera is a brand. Al-Jazeera doesn't need endosement from the sanghis. :inti

Al Jazeera is a very well respected news outlet. I think only Indians cast shade on it.

What was your expectation of the situation to be like in the backdrop of events like these below:

1. 26 Hindus gunned down point blank in front of their families AFTER being asked to pull their pants down to confirm they were Not-Muslims. This happened just 5 months ago
2. Dogged refusal to vacate extremely sacred Hindu temples that they occupy ( Ram Janmabhoomi, Mathura, Kashi etc )
3. Godhra train burning where 59 Hindus ( mostly women and children) were burnt alive in broad daylight
4. Ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley.

And the list goes on and on. So I would like to know the Pakistani perspective and expectations from the majority Hindus in India to these acts of unprovoked violence.

The bar is set very high for Hindus to prove their tolerance and for Muslims it is so low that even inzi can easily jump over it.
:inzi :mv

Oh India will, the minute Muslims start serving beef steak, most Indians, including you will look at the other way when Muslims being lynched.

That’s just one example.

Englands best selling news media The Times and Daily Mail is owned by Rupert Murdoch's family. Did you ever call the British media out as being biased?

We should distinguish between state-owned media and private owned media. State owned media will usually tamp down any criticism of the state and will further its foreign policy goals.

Ofcourse you find a Muslim extremist outlet credible

Quite credible, some of the most prominent figures have appeared on various Al Jazeera programs. It’s one of the most respected and widely recognized news outlets across the world, unlike Arnab, whose reach barely extends beyond his echo chamber.
