There is so much commonality between Indian crowds and Bangladeshis. They share the same characteristics of intense passion and deathly silence when the chips are down. Honestly, the Bangladeshi matches in Kolkata would have been brilliant. Unfortunately, Bangladeshis have had less to cheer about in recent times, but thats part of sports. Only those who can withstand the sorrows deserve to share the joys too.

It is a shame politics got in the way.

Hopefully one day the tiger fan, and this Indian transexual guy can watch the match in the same stadium. As cricket fans we need to challenge the powerful ones in charge of the game to make sure it happens.

Couldn't disagree more. Even in their mediocrity Bangladesh give plenty of entertainment, and every so often something within them lights up and they suddenly start looking like a real cricket team for a brief moment.

Like the time they played India in the 2022 T20 World Cup, or pretty much any time they play Sri Lanka. Infact, their rivalry with Sri Lanka is the real Asian rivalry instead of the overhyped, one-sided, politically-driven Indo-Pak rivalry. Their match against Afghanistan at the last tournament was an absolute barn-burner and then ofcourse you also see them almost lose to/actually lose to associates which is entertaining in it's own right like in 2023 when they lost to the Dutch, or last time when they had that low-scoring thriller with Nepal.

I am yes, would have loved for them to be in their original spot. Had a reasonable chance of qualifying in these conditions, Scotland have no chance. Greater fan following, emotional team, would have had some lively matches. Hope to see them featuring in upcoming tournaments.

I honestly feel about guilty saying this since they're a long-standing cricket nation with hundreds of millions of supporters but they've always been pretty peripheral to these tournaments. I don't actually watch T20 world cups before the knockout rounds and I can't remember watching them at all.

It's sad really. There's so many of them who love cricket.

You havent missed anything not watching them. The ODI WC game against Afg was highly entertaining though honestly just because of the sheer incompetence of Ban team and how useless they pretty much are..

There is so much commonality between Indian crowds and Bangladeshis. They share the same characteristics of intense passion and deathly silence when the chips are down. Honestly, the Bangladeshi matches in Kolkata would have been brilliant. Unfortunately, Bangladeshis have had less to cheer about in recent times, but thats part of sports. Only those who can withstand the sorrows deserve to share the joys too.

Just to be clear, as an Indian fan I, and I think most Indian fans, are embarrassed by the unfair treatment of Fizz.

The expulsion shows only the arrogance, stupidity and sheer ineptitude of BCCI that they have sparked off a sports war.

Unfortunately Bangladesh’s extreme and emotional overreaction is something else altogether, and I won’t discuss it here because that debate already has attracted millions of words.

India’s special relationship with Bangladesh won’t easily be eroded, regardless of events. Here is a picture I recently took at Kolkata airport. It speaks volumes to that relationship. Yes Bangladesh is a foreign country but it still has a special status in India. Long may that continue.
