Hi, I’m just curious do most people still watch PSL here. I only watched the initial one or two seasons when it started and stopped after that. Reason being, nothing has translated to international performance. These guys have consistently been failing at international level in limited overs cricket for years, so I personally don’t waste my time on it. Got no interest in seeing the likes of Azam khan hitting sixes for fun, just to be a laughable act at international level.

I’m just curious if people do follow it, and if so why?

International cricket and league cricket viewers are two completely different groups of people.

What I like most about the PSL is that appeals to a mainstream domestic audience. I have seen the city v city rivalries bring in viewers who generally don't care about cricket. And I think we need to start seeing it as something beyond a league through which we can unearth new players. Culturally it has had a big impact on the average TV viewer.

I am going to be completely honest with you.

Right now, I feel demoralized, angry, demotivated and powerless watching the state of Pakistan Cricket. My earliest memories are 1992 and then Waqar/Wasim toying with oppositions for close to a decade and then Shoaib Akhtar putting the fear of God into the batters.

2010 (match fixing) was demoralizing but at least UAE was a fortress for Pakistan or at the very least Pakistan competed.

Sure, Pakistan was never consistent and never dominated others but it was exciting and filled with adrenaline.

Domestically, we doctored pitches and still lost to West Indies and who knows if Sri Lanka or India or Bangladesh were touring on these pitches because they have better spinners and batters who know how to play spin. We may even lose Test matches to Afghanistan even after doctoring pitches, we can't even compete domestically without doctoring pitches

Right now, Pakistan Cricket is boring, losing and unexciting. Even PSL (as a league) fails to excite me as a fan there are no "x-factor" players we have domestic players and we have "has been" or Journeymen Internationals.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel for me.

Just like black economy there is black betting business and a sizeable portion follows PSL due to this

Yeah why not. It's not the fault of the youngsters or upcoming players that this lot failed.

I feel that, from the days of Waqar and Wasim, to the likes of Afridi and Razzaq, even around CT17 with Sarfaraz leading and Hafeez as an all rounder putting on a show with the bat, there was something about Pakistan. Something exciting.

That excitement has been lost for many years. There is no excitement, there is watching poorly paced innings where half the innings are dot balls. The likes of Afghanistan are refreshing, today even after losing wickets consistently they were still looking to score runs. Pakistan goes into their shell way too quickly and for way too long.

And none of the pacers are looking threatening at all, you genuinely didn’t know if a wicket would ever come in that India game.

I miss the Pakistan with X factor, that seems to be a distant memory.

To be honest, I feel like I go out of my way to avoid watching.

Doesn’t help when I’m usually busy most days it’s on.

I don’t celebrate good PSL performances of proven international failures. Makes me kinda sick.

PSL still has a future if the right players get a chance

League with the most talented, X factor fast bowlers in the world . Can't miss it :inti

If you are watching PSL to diss IPL, then please lead the way.

If you are a cricket fan, excited to see new talent from domestics than why would you boycott PSL? For every reilu- katta overseas player (not my words IK said it), there always seem to be some fresh exciting local talent.

I am not a fan of IPL for the tamasha, I watch it for young Indian talent. Same thing should apply here 🤷‍♂️

Your T20 teams are built from PSL, why would you want to boycott it? What other major sources of talent scouting do you have?
Also, PSL is a source of revenue for the PCB to invest in infrastructure, to fund other programs, to fund Women’s team, for making cricket as a source of income for people to pursue the sport. Why would you want to boycott literally the only shining beacon of hope for yourself?

I watch highlights here and there.

Especially if new talent is doing well.

However, I don't think I've sat through an entire PSL match (or any league match) in years. But I'm sure there's an audience for PSL cricket and it's good for Pakistani cricket's economic future.

I have no desire to see international frauds like Babar, Shaheen and co look like the second coming of Bradman and Wasim against poor quality opposition, so I have zero desire to watch PSL.

I'm so demoralized with recent performance of Pakistan cricket, want to give myself a break from Pakistan cricket , particularly PSL, which serves no purpose and same failed players will be scoring runs and taking wickets .

I will watch Pakistan team's upcoming tour of NZL only if it was a brand new team , doesn't matter if they perform good or bad, I'm dying to see some fresh faces, sick and tired of same old Babar, Riz, Rauf, Shaeen and Naseem and others.

Pathetic league, pathetic players, sub-standard tournament... no international superstars... really poor quality of cricket...

I know it's going to be a controversial take but I enjoy the PSL more than international cricket right now. It seems more fun with better balanced teams.

I see IPL , PSL , BBL , WPL etc bcos I am a cricket lover.. As you said, new exciting talent from all over the world. And on the IPl or league tamashas - you underestimate that ! My wife and kids who dont know much about cricket watch it because of all the Bolly/tolly/kolly/mollywood celebrities, the crowds, the crow reactions , the pre game events with local TV anchors asking silly Mandira bedi type questions..

I usually try and watch the players who could be the nxt big thing. Like I watched the games where Saim, Haris etc were playing, I am NOt saying that I watch all the games ball-by-ball but I try to follow players who can be a good prospect.

Are pak people really interested in watching PSL..?? It's just Bat first Score big..bat second get bundled without fight ..even BPL have far more interesting matches than PSL..let alone second biggest..it shouldn't even come in top 5..
