Australia head into the Adelaide Oval with a commanding 2‑0 lead in the Ashes 2025‑26 series, having won both Perth and Brisbane Tests by identical eight‑wicket margins. Steve Smith has twice hit the winning runs, while Michael Neser’s maiden five‑wicket haul sealed the Gabba victory.

England, now seventh in the WTC table with a PCT of 30.95, must respond to avoid conceding the series early. The hosts remain undefeated in the WTC27 cycle, holding a perfect record across five matches.

Root will play 200 tests, score 15,920 runs and retire as second leading run scorer of all time. He will announce his retirement before the match only and as a result will end up at 15,920 figure.

Going to chime in early with a prediction: The Poms will be at the losing end of the stick by Day 3.

So after all that lip-service by Stokes about what an important part of the side Shoaib Bashir is, he is yet again being left out of the playing XI. Why did they even take him to Australia in the first place? to carry the drinks? :kp

I want to see Eng win, nobody wants to see two dead rubber tests through New Year.

Ben Stokes should stop living on THAT one innings and finally bring the goods .

All the Shield games at Adelaide this year have been won by teams batting second.

Think Australia might actually bowl first if grass length is 6mm or more

Tongue? At least in our culture we respect Surnames and name our family accordingly.

The English culture make a mockery out of Surnames.

@sweepshot just pulling your leg. It was a good innings as Khawaja showed his mental strength staging a comeback in a position he usually doesn't play.

All good.

He indeed played well. Australia could've been in big trouble without his innings (no Smith in this Test either).

England should have picked left arm spinner M Hartley on this tour, Hartley was exceptional in India in 2024. Off-spinners don't work in Australia unless your name is Lyon or Ashwin.

Eng seems determined to prove me wrong about the outcome of this match; poor fielding, poor catching. They should have been batting atleast 25 overs ago....
