Day matches in NZL are the hardest to follow for me because they start at around 23-24 (11 or 12 pm) & in the past I used to stay up majority if not all of the night to watch them. Used to try sleeping but the passion was such that I'd be unable to sleep. Now, I just slept through after watching 2 overs in the start & woke up when we were 7 down for 77.

I guess it's got to do a bit with growing up & responsibilities but this team is also ending at least my interest in cricket (& I'm not just talking about the players, the board et. al are included in the "this team").

man this is like watching Nathan Astle and Chris Cairns fighting the zombie horde but you know it is only a matter of time...

Shaheen Afridi's place in danger due to this all rounder performance from Naseem

It will be fun if a concussion sub is replaced by another concussion sub...LOL

Calypso king Sufyan .. two of the best backfoot shots off full deliveries y'll ever see

The thing is this is a slow pitch. You get ample time to play shots. Pakistan conceded 50 runs more than they should have.

did nt bother watching the game. preferred Night’s sleep. So our Generational Talent fails again today? Does nt matter if opposition gives you 250 or 350.. Our Generational talent manages to eff up. never seen such cringe player who wants all the praise for him with stat padding. Insult to cricket fans

This target was easily chasable on this pitch but top 5 batsmen have literally jeopardized the chase with zero contribution

You can see how conditions eased out after 22 overs. Next overs , PAK have scored at 7 RPO with the tail and has no trouble.

The bounce has gotten skiddier and much easier to face.

Naseem will come in for Rauf next match. Will travel for runs. Then Rauf will come back for naseem

Take a bow Naseem. This is why you deserve to truly be Pakistan's #8 and not one shot wonder Shaheen. Always showing grip and fight with the bat.

Pak's top order disappoints again. This was a very chase-able score. They just had to see off 15-20 overs.

FGS rizwan, immam, abd and tt shouldnt play for pak ever again.
Even Aazn awais,Maaz sadaqat,Saad baig and Mohsin riaz would have done a better job than these 4.

Blessing in disguise…

… For the Pakistan fans to end their cricket channel subscriptions asap if they watch cricket only for Pakistan and to instead use that money for coaching for their young kids to hopefully restore some honor to Pak cricket in the future.

Babar in ODIs in Nz
2016 Series
2018 Series
2025 Series

Miserable failures. Not even single match winning knock

Another learn for Rizwan and team. Pathetic stuff. This is literally the weakest team from.NZ and Pakistan won the both tosses. Learn after learn and no win is very shameful

Another gutless and shambolic display. Yet again Pakistan bowlers 1st let NZ batsmen off the hook. The fact they got 290 and lower order wag was pathetic.

The usual pathetic batting from so called top 6 batsmen.

Pakistans ODI record historically has been poor in NZ, but the performances in both T20s and ODIs so far has been next level pathetic

New Zealand will host Pakistan at Seddan Park, Hamilton on April 2 for the second clash of the 3-match ODI series. Fresh off their emphatic 4-1 victory in the T20I series, New Zealand thumped PCT once again in the 1st ODI but the question remains will Pakistan bounce back.

Will the Men in Green rise to the occasion, or will the Black Caps continue their dominance?

Much better balance of bowling attack this time around. Though I thought Naseem was good in the last game.
This bowling attack bowler 20 wides today. This is a crime at this level

New Zealand clinch series with 84-run victory in second ODI over Pakistan

New Zealand secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series with an 84-run win against Pakistan at Seddon Park, Hamilton on Wednesday. The final match will be played at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Saturday.

Opting to bat first, the hosts posted 292/8 in their 50 overs, anchored by wicketkeeper Mitchell Hay's unbeaten 99 (7 fours, 7 sixes). His crucial 77-run sixth-wicket stand with Muhammad Abbas (41 off 66 balls) rescued New Zealand from 132/5 in the 27th over. Pakistan's Sufyan Muqeem (2/33 in 10 overs) was the pick of the bowlers, while Mohammad Wasim Jr (2/78) claimed two wickets on his tour debut.

Pakistan's chase faltered, bowled out for 208 in 41.2 overs despite Faheem Ashraf's valiant 73 (80 balls, 6 fours, 3 sixes). The innings saw a dramatic moment when Haris Rauf (3) retired hurt after being struck by Will O'Rourke, with concussion substitute Naseem Shah smashing a maiden ODI fifty (51 off 44 balls) in a 60-run ninth-wicket partnership. New Zealand's Ben Sears starred with career-best figures of 5/59.

Brief Scores:

New Zealand 292/8 in 50 overs (Hay 99*, Abbas 41; Muqeem 2/33)
Pakistan 208 all out in 41.2 overs (Faheem 73, Naseem 51; Sears 5/59)
Player of the Match: Mitchell Hay (New Zealand)

This from Cricbuzz sums it up rather well :
The sight of the black New Zealand jersey might evoke irritation, and perhaps even fear amongst the Pakistani fans now. For the last three months, they’ve seen their side lose in different shapes and manners to the Blackcaps. They beat Pakistan at home, they beat Pakistan away. They beat them while batting first, they beat them while batting second. They thrashed them with a full strength side, and now they’ve thrashed them with their gen next. All in all, tells the story of two nations going through two very different cricketing trajectories. Pakistan have one more ODI to endure, or hopefully to salvage some pride for themselves. We’ll see you at that one, bye for now.

I think decisive point of the game was when Sufiyan Muqeem was taken off. He was bowling very well. Batters were struggling at that time.

He should've continued to bowl and put more pressure.
