But no one dropped a catch or misfielded of his bowling, so how could you say that fielders didn't back him?

Exactly, right?

For a second there I thought...

I guess it's just because he's Mustafir and he can do no wrong :P

He bowled poorly. No need to blame the fielders for him getting smashed by Sharma and Pandya. In fact what exactly did they do for him to be smacked for 40 runs?

He didnt bowl well i will agree with that. But our ebtire fielding was atrocious that was my point

That's because Nehra bowled miles better than Bangladesh bowlers .

In the first four overs of India batting there was only one delivery pitched in full length area and it got Dhawan wicket

So if he was bowling better, how can you say that there was more assistance in India's innings (1st)?

As far as Dhawan wicket goes, that was nowhere near the seam movement that Nehra got, nor the swing especially when he got the first wicket.

India was always going to win this...shocked to see Mustafiz, hadn't seen him before and due to PP hype expected a lot more.

I've been saying this for a while. The novelty will eventually wear off and he will be like the rest of the bowlers. He is definitely a good bowler and looks like a quick learner but this was a pathetic performance from him on a green wicket. He relies too much on the ball to grip on the surface and it looks like BD shot their foot laying out a green wicket for India.

Yeah, agreed. But that doesn't have anything to do with how he bowled.

That's my point.

I personally feel that a young bowler needs the backing of the bowlers. Imagine you are running in and bowled a decent delivery but your fielders don't help you. It dents your confidence. The entire bowling unit didn't perform well, but the fielders didn't do any justice what-so-ever

Mustafizur was not getting his cutters to grip today because of the grass on the pitch. Hence batsmen able to hit him through line. He is best suited for pitches which are slow.

Nearly identical bowling stats for all 5 bowlers :murali

wow four bowlers having exactly the same economy in a match? That must be a first in any international match. Wish jadeja had also conceded 2 runs less :))

He bowled some cutters and those were actually quite good. However, to my surprise he didn't bowl his cutters too often.

I don't think its a matter of cutters gripping and turning slightly but rather slowing down the pace of the ball which is so very effective. He bowled really well in the first 2 overs, next 2 overs got carted around and didn't use the cutter at all.

Our entire team strategy was shocking. Our bowlers were bowling too short instead of full.

This is probably because we hardly played in such a green wicket. I am sure most of our bowlers, who are all just started their careers have never seen a cricket pitch so green. Which is why I am vocal about sporty wickets in domestics

Then you could say that for everytime your fielders perform poorly or for other bowlers that have the same issue too.

What I understood today is that he needs slow pitch to perform as his cutters will grip. Even Mash Mortaza said at the post match presentation that his cutters were not gripping enough on the surface. But he does not look like a bowler who can get conventional swing to utilize these kind of pitches, something like Nehra did. He need to improve this part of his game and need to develop genuine swing. Keep the cutters only as a surprise package. Else he will struggle overseas where mostly he will get pitches like these.

I may be wrong though but thats my analysis watching him today.

Sounds like a one dimensional bowler if all he has are "cutters"

All you're doing is making excuses after excuses. One drop chance shouldn't be talked too much about. It happens. MR had a poor game, it happens, especially in T20 it's a norm. No need to make excuses. Like someone here said his cutters didn't grip due to grass on wicket.

Bro, its T20. No matter how good he is its a mickey mouse format. Look at Amir for us in T20s. Today 40 runs tomorrow 4 wickets is how it works in T20.

The dropped chance was of the bowling of Takshin. How on earth does it affect the bowling Mustafizur seriously ?

Come on Austin, you can clearly see where it says on there.

Try to find the official website for Russia, out of these 3 websites, some or other may work. If all options fail then VPN is the only option or other unofficial websites.

Didn't know Austin got you to reply for him. Lol

Especially the world's so called no 1 all rounder who feasts on Zimbabwe.

3 (+2) Bowlers having exact same stats..
4 bowlers having exact same amount of runs given :D

That is what I am happy about. People talk about 5-fers or centuries which are only individual efforts.
Achieving something like this is far more difficult to do.
This is teamwork. It will be so nice if it happens like this in every game.

Congratulations to all Indian fans.Another fabulous performance in the given format.Seems like it would be a bit of achievement or something to defeat India anytime soon in t20s.
