They have players who can play at a good tempo like Kusal Mendis, Asalanka and Kusal Perera. But they always seem to be struggling for consistency.

Not sure how Shanaka keeps finding his way back into the squad.

Mendis has stepped up his SR since 2023 in both white-ball formats. I'm sure if you look at it in the last 2 years its probably much higher.

Asalanka is better suited to ODI cricket, but he can play the role of the crisis man and step up in tough situations. For a team like Sri Lanka, that has batting collapses fairly regularly, that makes him even more important than some players who can bat at a higher SR.

Yeah. Asalanka is their best ODI batsman imo.

You are right in that Mendis has upped his strike rate since September 1, 2022. I stand corrected.
