hopefully the pitch isnt too wet as the covers where placed as soon as the innings was over.

I want my country, Bangladesh to win :)

You pakistani can go leave behind your "I want to face India" thing, afterall, we can do well against you guyz

Damn looks like a Bangla vs Pak Final,,,,,,,,,,, this would be a boring and one sided final..........

6.45 pm Siddarth Ravindran, our man at the ground, informs us that there do not seem to be wet patches on the outfield. No rain at the moment.

Cricinfo

I think if the games moves on the next day, it should restart. Unfair for one side, this rule.

Exactly. One more thing is that, if the route to final is based on the head to head record, then why are they showing Net run rate on the points table? I mean what's the point of calculating NRR when it doesnt have any impact on teams?

6.50 pm We could have a start at 7.30 pm!!

WTH!!

Are they waiting for the rain to start again :/

It does, but it's one of the lesser factors, the 4th I think.

Can someone explain to me this extra 40 minute wait?

" that there do not seem to be wet patches on the outfield. No rain at the moment."

"We will start losing overs from 7.15 pm, if play does not start by then."

So unnecessarily we are going to start late and lose overs :/

u lose more overs then runs.

Somehow thats the way it always works with Duckworth

So if you want Indo Pak, that might actually help.

And the more stops in between , the more tough the target gets.

The NRR would come into play if three teams are tied on points since they can't really look at head to head.

In order to chase less runs. The problem with the lesser teams is that they cannot play well consistently for long durations. They prefer to have shorter targets in shorter time. Probably slog away and reach there.

If rain stays away & Tamim fires good bye India, Pakistan will have one hand on their first multinational one day tournament trophy in over a decade considering they have won 23 consecutive ODIs against Bangladesh

Well I hope the runs don't go down too much, because 232 is average as it is. Knocking a few overs off won't make too much of a difference, but less runs to chase will make a big difference

NRR should be the first criteria after the points comparision. But again, these things are for the organisers to decide.

ATM, BD looks to have the upper hand with a shorter target.

dont care!trophies are what matter! would have been nice to ebat you guys but you have that mutant batsman who keeps scoring runs against everyone in your ranks!!

This is dirty tactics, if its not raining/ no wet patches/ covers are off. I just dont get it

what...233 in 50 overs is much easier then 212 in 40....lolz DL .

how many PP overs will be available for them..??

Match starts in 10 mins.
Revised target 212 in 40 overs.
Rain helped bangadesh.

Not sure about this one. Their target has been stashed by just 21 runs. But 10 overs have been stashed too.

They would have had advantage if the match would've been shifted to tomorrow.

I have a feeling that if things go wrong for BD, we might witness a riot in BD today.

now i get it ..its okay ...now each bowler will bowl max 8 overs ...which also counts in the final target ....

Lets see the outfield gets wet = bad for bowlers, but also outfield gets slow

Prolly overcast conditions = bad for batsman

10 overs gone, only 20 runs slashed

taking all of the above, Srilanka came out better in this deal.

RR goes from around 4.5 to near 5.2

It also means that BD need to face 2 overs less from Malinga. Massive in the context of the game. Specially when SL have only one impact bowler.

I think its going to either be a close win for Bang or a a complete like 100 all out

This cannot be a close game. BD lacks the temprament to hold on to crunch moments.

This game will either be won by BD hands down, or they'll fold cheaply.

Malinga is undoubtedly the fastest bowler in the tournament. That last over had some rippin' bouncers.
