Australia [158/4] beat India [169/7] by 4 runs (DLS method) in the 1st T20I to take 1-0 series lead

Kurnal in.
His bowling is gully mohalla level. Lets see how he bats.
 
I'm just thinking back to all the hate DK gets on PP day in and day out. TTF. Has been. Mohalla cricketer. What not.

So I don't care if we win or lose but I'm just loving DK shutting everybody up again and again. :)
 
Why is Australia called Australia C? Smith and Warner are bloody cheats and are rightly punished.
 
Nice match. 2 clutch LOI outfits. Aussies had to deal with a wet ball and outfield as well so full marks to them.

Some things you can’t teach. If your previous gen were chokers the next gen will go the same, but if you come from a country of champions you will be one too.
 
Smith being the captain, should have been punished even more.

I don't really care, but when a C team beats an elite team then it is funny, all the Indians thinking they will win because we are weak at the moment, so yes it is funny.

But anyway the real series starts in 2 weeks, so we will see if the worlds no 1 team can finally beat a weak Aussie team in a test series.

This Stonis, what a terrible bowler he is, his little off break slower balls are un-hit-table though.. Bad bad performance by India, yeah can always say Aus was lucky to get the duck worth lewis on their side but for god's sake this is Australian D side they should have easily won it.... Hopefully we win at the G, I will be there..
 
Club level bowling from Aussies at times. Shocking.

*** were Indian batsmen doing against Stoinis...wo is semmingly just turning his arm over and Indians over complicating how to score off him. Shocking all round.

He was so lucky that Indian middle order is inexperienced other than Karthik. India should have won comfortably with 35 in 3 overs. Inexperience, improper planning let them down. Nothing to do with their bowling. India's vulnerability in the middle order is exposed in every match. They better fix before world cup. It is almost like you take the first 3 you are certain to win against India.
 
India got hammered in New Zealand, got smashed in South Africa, got destroyed in England and now lost a match against AUS that didn't have Smith, Warner, Starc, Patt etc, etc, etc.......but still they r the no 1 and 2 team in ICC test and t20 ranking?

Just shows how pointless icc ranking really is.

Come on now. It doesn't matter what XI Australia puts on the field. We all know they will be the better team. They are "elite" after all. It's an Aussie birth-right to be superior to everyone. :salute

In T20 there are no C team A team. All these guys play regularly in the IPL. They all know each other. India's D team can beat the same AUstarlia A team due to unfamiliarity. Besides They made 158 in 17. India had to make 174. So keep that in perspective.

Won the T20s in SA and ENG this year. That's why we are ranked 2 in this format.

And we are number 1 in tests because we don't lose to Zimbabwe. :ashwin
 
Brilliant effort by India after rain & DL ruined their chance of winning. Chasing 11 rpo from the onset was always going to be tough but hatsoff to the team for fighting so hard by just falling 4 runs shot. Dhawan is easily the best opener in the world and he proved it again today why. If Pant didnt played that scoop shot, India would hv won 3 balls to spare. We just need to replace Krunal with Chahal next game and series is ours.

What is your point - they are the best lot to return the compliment at home .... then we lost to ZIM. And, all this after losing a ** T20I, which for a cricket fanatic like me didn’t know that happening now!!!

Really disappointed with Pant. Seems to be not learning anything.

Second match in a row where he played the same rubbish scoop shot to get out at a crucial time.

Guy has so much batting talent but zero game awareness.

Dont think too much. I never said Krunal Pandya is the next big hitter. He will be replaced in the next game for Chahal. And when 2nd best allrounder after Stokes - Hardik Pandya is back, he will take his rightful place. Also Pant need to have a word with. He is just hacking now and looking more like poor mans Suresh Raina.
 
Against popular opinion, I would say DK is still a hack. Hacks are ok and sometimes good for T20s but he should not be near the ODI side at all.

Krunal shouldn't be dropped. Only because of team balance.

Today we still had a chance after Pant played that brainless shot and got out only because we had a 7th batsman in the team.

Bhuvi can still bat in ODIs but in T20s he is pretty much a tailender because he doesn't have any power game.

I'm just glad people are finally releasing the worth of Hardik and what he brings to the table - team balance.
 
If I had the chance, I would have replaced Kohli with Sharma as Captain of LO side - definitely for T20I, and probably ODI as well. Guy didn’t even make it to super 4 with that RCB team, which to me is the best T20 side in world among every franchise or national team on individual players’ merit.

It's really not though. RCB has always had the best batting line-up of any franchise team in the world. But they have also consistently had the weakest bowling attack every IPL season.

You can't win a tournament with just batsmen.

You can at least make semis though, kohli has no clue about captaincy. He is a good leader seems to get the extra 10% out of his players but he is as dumb as they come with regards to actual tactics selection or anything else. We need a good coach who can handle those sadly with what we have now it means dhoni is in the team because he knows how to captain even if he can't bat.

Warner and Starc are the only misses here. Smith being in the team would have helped India, Cummins and Hazelwood aren't better t20 bowlers than what was on show today.

Hazlewood doesn't even play T20s for Australia. His last game was in 2016. And for good reason. His ER in T20s is 9.5 and avg is 33.

And Smith is a very average T20 player, as indicated by his numbers. Australia have actually upgraded their batting by getting D'Arcy Short instead of Smith in their T20 side.

How any Bangladesh fan can have the nerve to question the rankings when their side lose against Zimbabwe at home is the height of envy.
 
Compared to other team, there's an inherent weakness in indian batsmen for t-20s, lack of power hitting ability. The likes of maxwelll and lynn can just tee off, while indian batsmen like dhawan and karthik have to do all kinds of improvisations to bat at a similar strike rate. The same thing happened in t 20 world cup against west indies, where virat's brilliant batsmanship was lost to west indian batsmen playing three shots-block,tee-off and miss, tee-off and 6. That's why i think our odi batting is much better than t 20s, as traditional innings builds skills are still valuable in odis

RCB struggled to reach the playoffs even before Kohli was made captain in 2013, getting to the last 4 only once in four seasons. And that's because their squad selection has always been lopsided.

Since 2013, under Kohli RCB has made the playoffs twice in 6 seasons, including one season where Kohli didn't play 7-8 games. So the record is not as bad as you would think.

But yeah, Kohli definitely isn't the sharpest captain around. But even a great captain needs a good team. RCB has always been 2 bowlers short every single season.

Bcoz Bangladesh has the most aweful fans in the entire world. Its proven long time back. Their team that got whitewashed against Afg, havent won a game against Ind for more than 3 years, lost a test against Zimb is laughing here for 1 T20 loss by 4 runs. And then same fans will come here and say, T20 internationals don't matter :uakmal
