What's new

Australia [233/2] comprehensively defeat Sri Lanka [99/9] by 134 runs to win 1st T20I

Just last year he scored 76 (42) and 41 (22) against Australia in Australia and was awarded man of the series.
We all know Dhawan is the best Indian batter in ICC tournaments. Drop him and your chances of winning reduces by 33.33%. Drop him for Rahul and your chances of winning reduces by 50%.

*ICC odi tournaments.

He may play one odd good innings in a while, but has largely performed below par in T20is. Unless he has a great IPL , he should not be in the world cup squad.

And yes, Rahul is not too great either. At the moment, I'm rooting for Gill/Shaw/Samson to partner Rohit.

Dhawan shines on bouncy and fast pitches which is evident from the fact that he averages 38 (sr 168) and 47 (sr 154) in Aus and SA respectively. His 42 of 28 balls is any day better than Rahul's 8 of 3.

Thanks to the shameless duo of misbah and sarfraz.

Forget the management, you should be winning easily against this team even if you have the likes of gul, imran farhat, rahat ali, awais zia and an tff squad especially if you are playing at home! The fact that we got whitewashed by this team at home is absolutely mind boggling!

Australia are well-placed to win the WT20 on home soil next year, but this side does not have the temperament and the big mentality as some of the previous Australian sides.

India and England will be the two big threats. I am 99% sure one of these three sides will go all the way and two of them will meet in the final.

You ride on that Indian band wagon way too much they are an atrocious t20 side. They couldn’t win against a weak Australian team at their home soil with their full A side playing and you think they would stand a chance on Australian soil. They also lost a game to a sorry South African side recently. The only teams that are going to win the t20 World Cup are going to be Australia or Newzeland and England.

This is what happens when top teams field their full strength in t20s, same fate or worse awaits Pakistan.

Unfortunately that wasn’t the case when India fielded their full strength side and got hammered by the big show and de kocks sorry South African side on Indian soil.

Imagine what this Australia team will do Misbah's Pakistan team, that can't even win a single game against their second/third tier team at home in a 3 match T20I series.

Yet we will have Hawkeye inform us that Mickey Arthur's side was a "dark era of Pakistan cricket", even though his team whitewashed a full strength Sri Lanka team two years ago :))

Lol. That was our second string bowling attack without Bumrah, Bhuvi , Kuldeep and Chahal. Try again.

Check the team that we fielded against them genius and stop wasting my time.

He has the potential but except that freakish knock against West Indies in Florida some three years ago, he has got nothing to show for in T20I.

But yeah, I'll rather have him open than Dhawan.
Century in t20 series against england last year was his best knock.
He averages 45 in t2os(at 150 str rate) so its obvious he is good

The T20 series vs Australia was one-off and India fielding a weak side against South Africa. If you want to how strong India is in T20s, please pray that BCCI decides to play PCB. You will get your answer.

New Zealand? They are mediocre in T20s.

Mesozoic Hyperion66 yeah I don’t remember the last time kohli bumrah and chahal being the second string side of India try again my indian fellows come up with better lies next time. Mamoon that’s what you say when India loses every time that it was a one off clearly that’s why they’ve lost Lost more of their recent t20 series than they’ve won.

I was talking about the South African series.

Well even kohli was playing that time as well and chahal is dropped since time only if you knew on top of that even with bumrah you wouldn’t have defended 130 the point being here is India does play its full strength t20 side 9/10 times. I don’t know why you can’t admit it and there is nothing wrong with playing your full strength t20 side.

38 yr old Irfan chacha will bowl on these pancake decks to Warner/Maxwell
God save him

lol ? are you guys serious?

india never takes t20 bilaterals seriously. No team should anyway. india takes ipl seriously and obviously t20 WC. Test is what india truly cares about.
