Just last year he scored 76 (42) and 41 (22) against Australia in Australia and was awarded man of the series.
We all know Dhawan is the best Indian batter in ICC tournaments. Drop him and your chances of winning reduces by 33.33%. Drop him for Rahul and your chances of winning reduces by 50%.
*ICC odi tournaments.
He may play one odd good innings in a while, but has largely performed below par in T20is. Unless he has a great IPL , he should not be in the world cup squad.
And yes, Rahul is not too great either. At the moment, I'm rooting for Gill/Shaw/Samson to partner Rohit.
Thanks to the shameless duo of misbah and sarfraz.
Australia are well-placed to win the WT20 on home soil next year, but this side does not have the temperament and the big mentality as some of the previous Australian sides.
India and England will be the two big threats. I am 99% sure one of these three sides will go all the way and two of them will meet in the final.
This is what happens when top teams field their full strength in t20s, same fate or worse awaits Pakistan.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the case when India fielded their full strength side and got hammered by the big show and de kocks sorry South African side on Indian soil.

Century in t20 series against england last year was his best knock. He has the potential but except that freakish knock against West Indies in Florida some three years ago, he has got nothing to show for in T20I.
But yeah, I'll rather have him open than Dhawan.

You ride on that Indian band wagon way too much they are an atrocious t20 side. They couldn’t win against a weak Australian team at their home soil with their full A side playing and you think they would stand a chance on Australian soil. They also lost a game to a sorry South African side recently. The only teams that are going to win the t20 World Cup are going to be Australia or Newzeland and England.
The T20 series vs Australia was one-off and India fielding a weak side against South Africa. If you want to how strong India is in T20s, please pray that BCCI decides to play PCB. You will get your answer.
New Zealand? They are mediocre in T20s.

Mamoon that’s what you say when India loses every time that it was a one off clearly that’s why they’ve lost Lost more of their recent t20 series than they’ve won.
I was talking about the South African series.![]()
