Sorry but when you poke and prod around and don't attempt to transfer pressure onto the opposition, that's the end result.

Another 20-30 runs and ENG would be bricking it.

8 overs until new ball due.

Aus need to ensure no wicket falls before this. Take is steady, survive the new ball and then go for it.

Acha jee

Block it before the new ball and score 60+ runs with 3 wickets?

Khwaja should ashamed of himself. His negative mindset approach in the past hour or so may have cost Australia the game.

In a Test match a batsman must know when to accelerate and decelerate an innings, Khawaja was stuck in the same gear for hours.

New ball due in 8 overs, aussies need to score as many before

Facing broad wont be that easy with brand new duke

He was waiting for the new ball.

I kept very well low.

To criticise Khawaja after his innings is very silly.

Im wanting England to win. I was discussing the nuances of test cricket.

You will never understand this.

Yes I will never understand. And you will. Your comments here especially in order to disqualify me prove it.

:))

Carey needs to counter attack here as I can't see Aussie tail lasting long here.

According to a Test expert here

Australia should block until the new ball and then score the remaining runs

Jee sir, cricket is being played on PS5

After many years we finally agree on something 100% !

You intend to chase the target first and if you lose wickets - yes then play for the draw.

They've missed a golden opportunity because Anderson is off-colour, Moeen's spin finger is badly injured and Stokes has an injured knee. ENG are virtually playing with two bowlers and this isn't an impossible Day 5 pitch at all.

It's been a very un-Australian approach.

I haven't seen enough of Alex Carey but he doesn't seem particularly comfortable against spin. Seems to be trying to manufacture shots than trust his defence.

He averaged 9 in India and 29 overall in Asia.

How Australia would dearly love another spell from Moeen at this moment

Draw is on cards juat 15 or so overs more can be bowled, unless cummins will slog everything

Very poor planning of the chase by Australia. Now taking a lot of risk when ball I holding up in the surface.

In fading light on this track? I think they should look to keep the bowlers out and deadbat.

Carey is playing all the shots and living dangerously,he has no intentions to play out i think

If another wicket fell now then i agree their tail is not surviving the new ball

Perhaps Khawaja was too defensive but Australia were only ever in the game because of him.

You have to win it with partnerships, where was everyone else? Warner, Smith, Labu, Head, Green all falling by the wayside with minimal contributions (aside from Warner maybe). The top 3 ranked batters nowhere to be found.

Khawaja's presence while the dominoes were falling is the only reason they are even close enough to the target for Cummins / Carey to swing for it. The only criticism I have of him is that he couldn't finish the job.

Root will get 1 more over before new ball

They need to target 2-3 boundaries in his last over

Rana what you think, any chance for Australia to win?

Will tune into this match if they require 25 runs and carey is still there

50 to win with 3 wickets and I back Australia to win

Part timer Root going at 2 RPO from 13 overs is criminal. Go after him and you force Moeen to come back with his injured finger.

Instead AUS have played him like prime Murali.

With 50 to win with 3 wickets

We will be in Cameo zone.

Anyone brave enough to score a quick 20-30 from here will seal the game for his side

Australia did take 10-12 runs off him in his last 2

What a catch from Root, game over

Being aggressive isn't as easy as flicking a switch

What a bloke stokes is

When new ball is due he still stick with root and that did the job

now the tail has to survive the new ball lol

Mccullum should be in the ICC HOF for his role in reviving test cricket. 👌 superb combo Stokes- Mccullum

Ben Stokes is a champion cricketer. Not so much with the bat recently, but with the ball most definitely.

Pat Cummins showing both the intent and execution which some of his specialist batsmen lacked.

Imagine if AUS had an over like that earlier.

Cummins and Stokes are once in a generation cricketers. Great leaders, brave hearts and fearless. Already legends

Cummins going for it.

Good decision. No point playing for the draw.

Lyon also slogging

Seems apart from khawaja every other aussies are desperate for the win

Stokes with nearly the catch of the century. This is an all timer Test!!

Best ground in the world, best place to watch Test Cricket

Poor attitude from Aussies all through this chase. Very defensive. Very unlike Aussie game.

Lyon needs to get down the other end before he loses it for Aus.

Can Nathan Lyon redeem himself after the Headingley 2019 run-out fumble ?

Poor over from Broad.

England need to get Jimmy with this new ball. Lyon will be a sitting duck against him.

Zak Crawley what have you done!

Cummins is playing an absolute blinder.

Someone understands Test Cricket here.

What a counter-attack by Cummins.

Captains knock.

The counter-attack has unnerved ENG. The earlier defensive approach was playing into their hands. This is a proper nailbiter now !
