Looks like problem is same for India and Pakistan. Both persisting with tried and tested failures.
Also I know i’d be bashed for making this comment. But you guys need to look beyond Sarfaraz. With Once in a blue moon performance he just plays as a specialist captain. He may be a brilliant tactician but thats all about it. Everything else about him is mediocre.
Terrible batting performance left too much for the bowlers to do for Pakistan to get back into the game.
Australia are our bogey team![]()
Nicely put up. A fluke loss for the no.1 team in T20s.
Indeed, they would have easily defended 170 today with this bowling performance.
We would win 9/10 times, they caught us on a bad day.
We would win 9/10 times, they caught us on a bad day.
There's a difference in body language when a team is defending a big score and have a couple of bad overs bowling and a team with very few runs on the board and it's pretty much over after 3 overs.
Zimbos can actually beat Pakistan if they show some fight in the next match. As always Pakistan are vulnerable. Hafeez and Sarfraz are such consistent failures, not even law of averages helps them have a good day.
Not Sarfraz - he won an International game with bat just 2 games ago. Best Captain of PAK history (in T20).
Bro, in a 120 balls game, 9 wickets & 55 balls is like losing by innings with half the wickets in only innings at hand inside 3 days - for no. 1 ranked team, it’s equivalent to the recent Bangalore Test against this AUS side who is struggling in every facet of the game in recent times.
If ever there is a day to keep low profile in PP, it’s 2nd July, 2018.
Ha..ha... You've got to be kidding me mate.
Because we lost a T20 game?
Pak will win the tournament.
'We’ve come here to win the series' – Aaron Finch
Billy Stanlake’s 4/8 and captain Aaron Finch’s 68* off 33 helped Australia romp to a commanding victory over Pakistan in the second game of the Twenty20 International tri-series in Harare on 2 July. Their aggressive approach was exactly what the team was going for after tour of England where they lost all matches.
This win was Australia’s first under the new coach Justin Langer and put an end to the team’s six-match losing streak in limited-overs cricket.
Tall Stanlake troubled the Pakistan batsmen with the extra bounce and got all of his wickets with the batsmen trying to fend off short balls.
“My role is to be aggressive upfront and take wickets in the Powerplay and make it hard for the opposition to get on a roll,” he said. “I’ve probably had faster spells, but the main thing is to take early wickets.
“We had a disappointing tour of the UK. [So it is] great for us to get a nice start in the series … The key message we’ve been talking about is doing the simple things well, stick to our strengths. And that probably got away from us in England.”
“The tone the bowlers set with the ball on a pretty good wicket was fantastic. To see them be aggressive and bowl fast was nice,” said Finch. “[We] just bowled aggressively and I hung on to some catches. You know how important it is to get wickets in the Powerplay in T20s.
“We've come here to win the series. We've been putting in plans, it did not come off in England. It was a pretty polished performance here.”
Stanlake bowled all four of his overs on the trot with the new ball, and by the time he finished his spell in the seventh over, Pakistan had already lost four wickets with just 24 runs on the board. He said he was happy to do so again if the captain asked for it.
“With the early wickets, Finch kept going with me. It’s the first time I have bowled out in one go. Finch was terrific in the field and with the bat,” he said.
Stanlake was referring to Finch's one-handed stunner to dismiss Hussain Talat and two other catches he took standing at first slip. Then, the captain and opener struck a rapid-fire half-century, studded with four fours and six sixes.
Finch’s attacking innings and some support from D’Arcy Short (15) and Travis Head (20) helped Australia chase the target of 117 in just 10.5 overs. The captain laid emphasis on the need to “break the game open”.
“At times, when you're chasing a small total, you try to break the game open. If you manage to break the game open, suddenly you’re chasing four or five runs per over and that makes it a lot easier,” he said.
Sarfraz Ahmed, the Pakistan captain, was understandably disappointed after the loss and conceded that Pakistan lost too many wickets in the Powerplay. “Toss is very important, if you lose too many wickets in first six overs, you can't survive in the match,” he said.
“Credit to Stanlake, he bowled with pace and bounce. [We have got] plenty to work on.”

This Pakistani team will always be exposed when it plays against the big boys i.e. Australia, NZ, South Africa, England, India
Playing against Minnows like Zimbabwe, West Indies e.t.c. just masks the problems the team faces
How many matches in total in this series?
I am telling hardcore fact
There could be few captains with 100% Win record for 1/2 games; but in cricket history show me another captain with such W/L after so many official Internationals - even Lloyd, Ponting, Waugh or Bradman didn’t have such domination as Captain in Test or ODI.![]()
You are right wrt his captaincy but considering his batting performances across formats, Sarfraz leaves a lot to be desired. To be honest I like sarfraz as a human being, not that I've ever met him but going by what I see on TV he comes across as a nice, humble guy. I would love to see him do well, but at the moment he is simply not good enough.
By the way MMHS, you are my favourite poster on this forum mate.
