Australia tour 2023: Once again Pakistan have missed the boat...

Ian Chappell was hated after he said in 2017 that CA should tell PCB that they would stop the invites if their team doesn't improve. 7 years later nothing has changed with regards to performance.

Similar issues were faced by the Pakistan team during the Australia test series, the team arrived late and lack of familiarity with the conditions cost the series for Pakistan. Now the same issue was addressed by fakhar for this New Zealand tour.

-------------------------------
Fakhar Zaman during New Zealand vs Pakistan T20 series pre-game Presser:

“The biggest challenge for us is that we only have two to three days of training and net practice. I think in New Zealand, you need more days, like 10 to 15 days, to get familiar with the wickets because there is too much difference in the bounce of the wicket if you compare it with the pitches in Pakistan. But as professional cricketers, we are now used to that, so there is no excuse. I think everybody is ready, the way everybody was hitting the ball in the net, I think we are ready to go.”

Give yourself the best chance to win.

This is how you do it.

Never understood why team doesn't even target to draw the games. Bat deep and bat for 2 days.

This so unfortunate that Pakistan never had a settled tour schedule. Perth would have been an ideal place for the Pakistan Team to have a match. Hollioke is absolutely on point here. PCB was sleeping because I guess they never focused on this tour and the schedule and traveling that the players had to do. Mismanagement is gonna cost many games in the future too.

Pakistan's Test captain Shan Masood reflects on the Test tour of Australia (2023-24) in an interview with a Pakistani media outlet:

"The series, in my opinion, was bittersweet; there are many things we can take forward with us. However, in the end, it’s the scoreboard that everyone looks at and judges you by. Personally, I always look at the bigger picture, and I believe that if we take the positives with us and learn from our mistakes, we will have a great run as a Test team.

Australia has been a tough touring place, not just for Pakistan but for many other teams as well. In our camp, we did not have the fear of losing in mind. Our focus was on how we can improve as a Test team in the long run."

"One thing I always believe in is that fielding is one skill that is in the individual’s full control and I feel, as a team, we need to aim for higher standards and really push ourselves to be a world class fielding team. But dropped catches happen and at no point can I fault the effort of the players on the tour."

"We were all behind him[Abdullah Shafique]. Fielding in the slips isn’t an easy chore. And people must understand the time and effort the slip fielders put in practice. Dropped catches are part and parcel of the game and, unfortunately, Abdullah had to deal with a bad streak, which can dent one’s confidence. I really believe in him and feel he is one of the best around in that fielding position."

"I think we should’ve beaten Australia in Australia. I think we found the way in the second and third Tests, but didn’t finish the games off, and certainly didn’t win in the crucial moments, which we have to learn to do."

Did Shan follow the Australia West Indies series? I don't think so.

He is talking as if he is captain of Bangladesh.
