Australia v Pakistan | 2nd ODI | Melbourne | Jan 15, 2017 | Pakistan Innings

Why can't Shafiq swing the bat and get a few quick runs since he can't rotate.

Good match awareness by Malik. Just looking to see off Starc here.

is this the best possible pak bowling line up ?

No, spin options are limited in squad - if this wicket was just a bit drier, PAK didn't have any leggi; neither the 4th seemer for CT in May.

Otherwise, it's good for AUS.

Honestly I never want to see Shafiq in an ODI kit ever again

looks like there is still fun left in this match. Awful innings by Shafiq as a player. If it wasn't for Malik it would have looked worse.

Why Shafiq keeps getting selected is beyond comprehension. He just gets such favorite treatment over and over again.

2 balls to survive and that's the end of Starc and you go chasing one of the worst balls Starc has bowled today.

Is there even a debate about Shafiq being the WORST Pakistani ODI batsman EVER considering he has played 50+ games?

Bad day for Asad - discunted his stunning ODI stats a little more.

End of a horrifying innings from Shafiq.

He's the 2nd coming of YK in ODIs.

Why does he keep getting selected for this format ??

To restrict Aus to 220 on this wicket was an amazing effort. I think Pakistan bowled well in first match as well.

And Shafiq showing again why he isnt a LOIs batsman.

I have noticed a lot of pakistani batsmen are using the hs bats, are they any good?

Waja Wasti was even worse. Averaged 23 at a tortorous SR of 48. But if we're talking worst batsmen who've played 50+ matches Shafiq is up there.

13 runs is good enough for Shafiq to keep in the squad as he see of 29 balls in difficult condition. He keeps getting selected because of his political, regional and buddy (Azhar) support.

I have heard and read their willow is soft and decent rebound but never used one myself. I just don't like the concaving as I prefer fuller shaped bats.

Malik his experience and calmness is why hes a great finisher, also noticed his improved on his driving, playing less wristy on the full balls, who agrees?

I don't know how can anyone hate Malik.

Its not about hating him, its just long overdue that he delivers given we've invested 18 years and 240 ODIs in him.

His averages in England and Australia are 12 and 22 which is pathetic for a senior player, but if he can improve on that this year then he'll deserve credit.

Finally a chase without hiccups, probably Pak's best match downunder and the captain wasn't Azhar nor Misbah,if one more match Pak plays like this then there is surely room for change in captaincy.

I think his average is low in these countries is because his technique against proper pace bowling is not that good, however lately he has been playing with a nice straight bat which is a good sign for him.

don't come up with logics after bashing him for no reason

240 ODI's of malik are a waste... then probably no ones career is good by your standards

win win situation for hafeez

No idea what you've said, clarify your point please.

If my standard that someone with an 18 year career and 240 ODIs should have a higher average in England and Australia than 12 and 24 is unreasonable then don't complain about mediocrity.

good finish by Umar Akmal and it's a fitting end to this wonderful chase. great day.

You got to give credit to the aussies, they never give up, head still diving and everything even though game is gone

Have watched Malik since his debut, this is top 5 knock from him considering the opposition, game situation and our history against the opposition. Pure clutch !!
