All at sea against pace and bounce of Stanlake.

Can't have one deadweight and two hopelessly out of form batsmen in your top five.
 
I have seen some rubbish cricketers over the years play international cricket for years, but I can recall few players who were as bad as Sarfraz.

To see a rubbish cricketer like him captain Pakistan in all formats is all the proof one needs about the sorry state of Pakistan cricket today.

Our batting is not as bad in this format as you think. The problem is the batting order and on top of that they brought back a ttf. Talat has been thrown in the deep end by giving him #3 slot, imo he's more suited for 5 or 6. We need to start promoting Shadab and Faheem up the order, those two look solid. Add Babar to the mix and the same team will look very threatening

We should stick with him, give him confidence. Every batsman goes through a tough phase.

Stanlake 4/8 his best ever T20 figures, will take him a while to better this.
 
This is absolutely unacceptable. A world number 1 team is playing like a number 10 team. Australia could put a state side against Pakistan and we would crumble against them. We have an inherent psychological block against the Aussies.

Our batting is rubbish and we are a mediocre T20 team.
 
We sort of needed this wake-up call as well...will show the boys they need to work harder.

This toss was crucial as well, Sarfaraz as and tendency to lose tosses...

It's the batting that's failing today yet it's a bowler we need ?

Auatralia wouldn't play pace and bounce as badly as we do.

As far as Babar is concerned, yes he is very good, but he is a rare exception. He has been earmarked for international success since he was 13. He is a prodigy.

Talat doesn’t look international class to me, and considering our poor batting culture, it is unlikely that he will improve with time.

The pessimism is appalling.

No, Babar is not an exception. Players like Fakhar, Sharjeel, Saif Badar, Saud Shakeel and many others are all very good batting talents. Talat is a very good player and I have high hopes that he will soon develop into a world-class batsman. The guy doesn't just have potential but exudes an aura that he is in control. We certainly require those sort of players.

There you have it. T20 rankings are officially a joke. Number 1 team struggling against Australia third string.
 
guys lets be honest. Compare the top 3 of dhawan, rohit, kohli, dhoni and rahul vs zaman , azam, talat, malik and sarfaraz. Pakistan is a top 5 t20 team but not a number 1 team.

I don't intend to demean our number 1 ranking as we have done well in our T20 results no matter the weak opposition but it is also true that this Pakistan team has not been tested against the full strength sides of England, Australia, South Africa, India on a consistent basis. Similarly Australia's ranking of 2 in t20s is also a smokescreen as they will be rubbished by SA, England and India on a consistent basis.

The true test for this team will come in the World Cup when they will be pitted against the full strength sides. We saw how we performed in the last World Cup in India. Couldn't even come close to a win against India, NZ and Australia.

This is an excellent reality check. Hafeez cant play swing, seam and bounce. Talat is too raw. These guys are in your top 3. Please use your brains and stop acting like fools

Spot on. Filled his boots against the ordinary attacks of Scotland and Zimbabwe at 4. Now exposed for what he is: rubbish.
 
Let's see what Faheem Ashraf is made of. This will be his first big test in international cricket.
 
We usually perform better if we get a thrashing early on. Probably the kick in the behind we needed to get rid of National Treasure.

Add to this the fact we have Hafeez and an out of form Talat Hussain in our top order (still should keep giving him a chance, talent is there..feel like he's just going through a bad patch, should have been a part of our ODI squad).

Fakhar Zaman was incorrectly given out.
 
If Pakistan manages to win this game from this situation, I would be extremely pleased to see some character and spine in some of our cricketers. The one thing that made Australia so great was the belief that they could win from ANY situation. I want to see that trait instilled in these Pakistani cricketers.
 
But pleased with Asif so far...seems like a good batsmen, won't mind him in the ODI lineup as-well

I said it previously that I have doubt about this Pakistan side about their being a true no 1 side unless they play India,Australia,England ,SA.This game isn't over yet but it has already shown their shakiness against tougher opposition.But if they can't win against this Aussie side in this tournament they don't deserve no 1 ranking.

Pakistan has 2 more chances against Australia in this tournament.
 
They should play until the 19th over and see where it goes from there. A half decent total is better than trying to get to 140+ and ending up with 110
