Hadlee won a series in aus by literally himself by taking 33 wkts in just 3 games, you really cna't drop him that series is greater than even Bumrah's BGT 24, though have to say Bumrah looked like he would take a wicket on every ball in that series, but yeah Bumrah is also one of the best visiting pacers ever in aus

Bumrah has a controversial action and bowled in an era where Test match batting techniques had regressed considerably, Hadlee had to bowl to the likes of Desmond Haynes, Viv Richards, Miandad & Allan Border etc first ballot hall of famers, and he could Bat as well. There is not a universe I’d ever pick Bumrah ahead of him for anything except maybe the disabled cricket league which is what Bumrah should be playing.

Thing is Bumrah has taken time off pretty much saying “this is too much for me” in the middle of a marquee test series and request time off.

Can’t have that in a must win series.

Need a dependable player.

Hadlee clears easily, and is a way better batsman with stronger character.

If we were talking a purely Indian XI then I may have even considered Zaheer Khan over him for being world class and an honest trier. Prob Azharuddin as captain.

Personal pick for ROW would be Steyn or Allan Donald for me.

Definitely murali is not required .we can go for a leg spinner or a Chinaman like kuldeep.Even pant, Stewart, Sanga,Moin are much better than Knott.I dont want Hobbs as he was a player before ww2.I will prefer proven ones like smith/Cook/Segwag/Greenidge/Haynes.Gavaskar is too selfish to my liking.

Bumrah would be the first name on the sheet. GOAT won 2 test series in Australia. And even the one that he didn’t win (due to inept batsmen) he took 32 wickets at an average in low teens.

You have to select an spinner for Asutealian conditions and it can't be Murli. Ashwin has 40 test wickets and he deserves to get selected definitely over Murli in Australian Conditions. Many more wickets and much better average comparatively.

Australia has been tough place for overseas spinners so Kumble, Ashwin and Danish Kaneria have done an okay job there. But one may have to go back and selected BS Bedi as he has a good record in Australia.

No one cant take out ambrose bro.he made them dance as per all 80/90 Aussie players . He took around 70 wickets in aus itself(3 series) .Even wi won 2 matches in 97 tour ( with their last decent team) with his contribution alone.

Anyone who says replace Ambrose with Bumrah should know that he's one of the best visiting pacers in AUS especially that 7 fer in WACA in 1992, but you can replace wasim with Bumrah, and I think Murli who has 70 avg in Aus should'nt be there and you can add Marshall and this XI becomes perfect against AUs in AUS:
