Avengers: Endgame - Discussion Thread

It was a nice guilty pleasure and I enjoyed it for what it was plus credit where due for the action, CGI and bringing so many lead characters together. However the actual quality was poor and while infinity may have been better it was certainly over hyped and I've never been a fan of those cliff hangers which rarely lead to a decent follow up given the limited scope.

Also, for a movie which was meant to be the final chapter I feel as though it was far too goofy and childish, it is Marvel but come on that tone was light on the level of BBC's Cbeebies. Try to make it at least a little compelling / dramatic and emotionally enthralling, the characters could have done with a much better send-off / proper build to the finishing stretch; e.g Logan was so beautiful, Wolverine had a proper good bye that movie was quality and they had a long story arc behind him to; sure they weren't going to match that or follow it in terms of themes / style but that's not to say you can't tell a good story.

But that's just me nitpicking it because like I said it was a good popcorn flick / time-pass, was it worth 15 quid ? probably not to be honest; the most recent episode of GOT deserves that and am not the biggest GOT fan out there.

Enjoyed the film, probably more than infinity war plot wise, while infinity war had the better action. I think a lot of people in this thread are either not too invested in the MCU or are missing the point of the film.

Infinity War is a more polished movie. This one seems rushed- CGI is inferior to IW. Plot has holes. Decent movie but not the epic it should have been.

Most people already kinda knew how it will all conclude so it did not have much of an impact.

Any plot with time-travel
is probably going to have holes unfortunately. I think Infinity War actually put them in a poor position as this was the only route that made sense when it comes to bringing back fan favourites.

I guess it not being as "epic" is down to more story-driven scenes rather than action based scenes. For specific characters it was definitely not obvious and that's what made it interesting. I don't think anyone was thinking about the conclusion of the saga being ambiguous as the main point but rather how it would impact the characters.
