Ayatollah Khamenei vows to stand his ground as Iran unrest intensifies

Iran’s Khamenei says Trump ‘guilty for the casualties’ in protests

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday accused US President Donald Trump of being responsible for “casualties” during a protest wave in the country that rights groups said was met with a deadly crackdown.

“We hold the American president guilty for the casualties, damages and accusations he has levelled against the Iranian nation,” he told a crowd of supporters during an address marking a religious holiday.

“This was an American conspiracy,” Khamenei said, adding that “America’s goal is to swallow Iran … the goal is to put Iran back under military, political and economic domination”.

“By God’s grace, the Iranian nation must break the back of the seditionists just as it broke the back of the sedition,” he said.

“We do not intend to lead the country to war, but we will not spare domestic criminals,” he added, saying that “international criminals” were “worse” and would also not be spared punishment.

Iranian authorities have blamed the United States for fuelling a “terrorist operation” that they say hijacked peaceful protests over the economy.

Iran was rocked by weeks of demonstrations sparked by anger over economic hardship that exploded into the biggest protests against the Islamic republic in more than three years.

Meanwhile, after repeated warnings, Trump on Thursday had changed his stance on military intervention in Iran, adopting a “watch it and see” posture instead.

He had cited assurances from “very important sources on the other side” indicating that Tehran had ceased using lethal force against demonstrators.

“They’ve said the killing has stopped and the executions won’t take place,” Trump said. Asked by a reporter if US military action was now off the table, the president replied: “We’re going to watch it and see what the process is.”

China landed some military aircraft, Russia has sent plenty of missiles.

The plan was for the USA to attack Iran, target the supreme leader without Israel. This would mean Iran could only retaliate against USA targets not Israeli. Of course this was pretty stupid and cowardly by the biggest cowards around because Iran would target Israel. The great Iranian nation would wipe out this puny little terrorist outpost.

Im sure they will try some other method of installing their puppet in Iran.
What are u smoking....Israel alone is enough to wipe Iran of the face of this earth leave alone US...Last conflict was evidence enough...a country had its terror infrastructure dismantled..strategic assets wiped and could response by targeting TEL Aviv...their military is in ancient age

Then, why didn't they?

For the same reason they haven't done that to Palestine. Having the capability is different from actually executing it.
What is left of Palestine??? Anyway.. Iran is a different matter... Israel is definitely poking its nose in here.

Then, why didn't they?
They did..wiped of Hamas and hezbollah.
Hit their nuclear assets.
Name one strategic hit achieved by Iran. Killing civilians on TEL Aviv hurts but are not achieving any war objectives.
Look at Iran's inflation and economic condition...with such a high educated population..it's really sad to be held back by regressive islamist.

Israel has shown in the past that they can handle 6 Arab states alone and take on territories that they hold till now...what has a single Islamic state leave alone Iran achieve against Israel.

Israel is not even a nation, and you think they can do it alone? Don't forget the massive support of Trump; Israel is nothing without the USA.

Israel is a nation..notwithstanding what you might consider. And all the accomplishments I listed was achieved my Israel alone ..not with any direct battle field help...it's true they have the backing of the most powerful country but that's indirect

That's ok then.

As long it’s not some Hindu monk killed in occupied Kashmir , some drunk 🤡s are happy if children are butchered .

Yanks and Zionist scum coward out but again are making threats .

Wouldn’t it be easier to just to relocate Israel into Utter Pradeh, surely the Indians will be happy to accommodate their brethren ?

The only way israelis would agree to relocate to Uttar Pradesh is on agreement that all Indians vacated the area and were moved into settlements with a 20 mile buffer zone.

Regardless of how terrible the current Iranian regime is, a Zionist-controlled Iran would be far worse for the people than whatever they have now.

Also, the Muslim world needs to support Iran despite their false Twelver ideology simply because giving the Americans and Israelis another puppet regime to control would be terrible.

Also, a great look by the Hindutva BJP to support the Ayatollah. So much for all their rhetoric against Muslims.

More protests erupt in Iran as supreme leader accuses crowds of ‘trying to please Trump’

Fresh anti-government protests have erupted across Iran for a 13th consecutive day, as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei lashed out at demonstrators, accusing them of acting to “please” US President Donald Trump. The unrest, which began in Tehran on 28 December, was initially triggered by the collapse of the Iranian currency but has since evolved into broader demonstrations against the country’s clerical leadership.

In a strongly worded response, Khamenei dismissed the protesters as “a bunch of vandals” and warned that authorities would not tolerate what he described as foreign-backed attempts to destabilise the country. His remarks came amid rising international attention, after Trump threatened to “hit Iran very hard” if government forces began killing protesters.

The protests have continued despite a nationwide internet blackout that has severely limited communication inside the country. Iranian officials say the restrictions are necessary to prevent unrest, while rights groups argue they are aimed at silencing dissent. With international media barred from reporting inside Iran, footage circulating on social media and satellite services such as Starlink has become a key source of information, showing cars set ablaze and clashes in several cities, including Tehran and Zahedan.

Adding to the political pressure, Reza Pahlavi — the exiled son of Iran’s last shah — has called on Trump to be “prepared to intervene” in support of the Iranian people. Pahlavi, who lives in the United States, has urged Iranians to take to the streets and claims growing chants in his favour suggest increasing support for change, though this remains difficult to verify.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has vowed “no leniency” toward what it calls saboteurs, accusing the US and Israel of exploiting economic grievances to incite violence. Analysts say the protests are among the most widespread since 2022, fuelled by economic hardship, political repression, and deep frustration with unaccountable leadership, as many Iranians feel they have little left to lose.

Reza gets what he want. So he is going to form the gov now with the help of Trump

He wasn’t a saint. He was an oppressor that kept our great nation under tyranny for decades.

But he was our criminal. His fate should have been decided by our people and not by Zionists who who want the worse for Iran and who have killed Iranian people.
This is why we oppose the. Not because we have any affiliation with the dictatorship regime.

A secular Iran where religion is put behind 4 closed walls and a nation where women can have the freedom to pursue whatever they wish is bad for Iran?
No Sunni Arab country likes Iran. It was evident in the current war and it has been that way ever since the Islamic revolution in Iran some decades ago.

Hopefully Iran finally embraces modernity and people get the freedom they deserve. A tyrant Islamic regime is gone and it is good for the entire Middle East and the rest of the world.
