You know what I am talking about.

This is Mr. Kohli having a go at the umpire for a decision that didnt go India way.

Imagine Babar Azam doing this - how would the ICC react?

What's he even arguing about for so long? Are they going to change the umpire's call rule for him in that instant? Maybe he's trying to argue Root was not playing a shot so the impact shouldn't matter, but even that's ridiculous.

Perhaps I'm missing something here?

It can be an annoying rule, it's an annoying decision to go against you. These are the rules unfortunately, get on with it

Pakistan player - the ICC will throw the book on him.

Then again, Pakistan are quite well behaved on the field so this wouldn't happen.

Causes a huge embarrassment sometimes this King Kohli.

Rules for different for different players.

Zero patience, I mean weren't India in a winning position by this time? So what if a decision didn't go your way, you are in the driver's seat to win the game. You had your decision referred upstairs, it didn't go your way and the best outcome was you got to retain your review because it's umpire's call.

The art of Subr bro

When you're a superstar like Kohli sometimes you start getting used to having your own way regardless of the situation. Nothing was going to change but Kohli's brain has been wired in a way that if he is intimidating enough he can have what he wants.

I don't think we'd see Kohli do this to a white umpire but amongst his own people he'll have some ingrained belief that he can be above some the rules that apply to everyone else.

Happens to everyone from all walks of life when they used to being on a pedestal.

I agree with Varun, Pak players are mostly achha bachha types especially Babar. I honestly don't see him getting into a heated argument with anyone. Only person from Pak team who could do something like that is Hasan Ali.

Big deal.

Rickey Ponting would be a jerk to Aleem Dar, taht was way worse and he would get away with it

Conversely, Williamson didn’t get vexed enough following the boundary off Stokes bat in the WC final - he should’ve kicked up and demanded the rule book come out.

But but Kohli is entitled to do this. He is best batsman ever. Love it how he gives back to English because they ruled us for so many years. This is aggression. Babar is timid. Kohli can abuse say MC BC still he will win sprit of cricket award. Kohli can throw helmet in the middle of pitch to scuff it still Smith, Warner are the bad guys. Double standards of people and ICC

But on a serious note I would never want Babar to become this or do this. I will lose all respect for Bobby. If you have to emulate any player it's Dravid only. Not this serial abuser who is fake as they come

None of them could do it successfully anyway. When you act like an arrogant toad, believing all rules and situations are above you, then you need the skills to back it up.

That's why we saw Miandad behave like this, the great Aussie team behave like this, now Kohli etc.

If a current Pak player tried to intimidate an umpire it would be about as successful as playing Imran Butt as an opener and look equally ugly.

Babar Azam would never do this as he isn't that type of character. Secondly although Kohli is getting heated here, I think if he approached the umpire a bit more calmly it would not be such an issue. Also the conversation went on a bit too long.

Bashing Kohli, Miandad, Aussies, current Pak players all in one post :salute

Problem isnt Kohli - problem is the ICC and its inability to be consistent!

Current Pakistan team looks like the most well behaved cricket team in Pakistan's history. All of them are nice especially guys like Babar and Azhar Ali just like Pujara and Rahane. :inti

Pretty disgracefully honestly. ICC is a joke organization at this point, even football players won't get away with such behavior but ICC has no balls to enforce their rules against 'superstars'.

He oscillates between behaving like a jerk and acting like his holiness Dalai Lama for which he won the Spirit Of Cricket Award. I feel his latter persona is fake and that disgusts me more than his shenanigans on the field.

Great point. His off field personality is far more off putting than his on field persona. At least on field, he is just himself.

Off field, he is just desperately pretending to be a sage, who has advise for everyone how to behave in civic manner, how to respect others and stuff like that! And he is totally opposite of that in his on-field avatar! And don't tell me it eggs him on to do better things on field.

More than this, I think him taking offence to Menon warning him for running on pitch while going for 3rd run was far more cringe worthy and absolutely pathetic.

Anyone having seen the replays of that 3rd run will vouch what a bully Kohli was trying to act like on that occasion and that too with an umpire.

Babar should sue the ICC because they would have fined him for doing what Kohli did.

Not surprised at all. Kaptaan is bit too intense at times. Lets just say he doesn't like surprises.

I have zero problems with Kohli's antics on the field but can never tolerate such ugly behaviour against the match officials. Banter between the players make the game colourful and entertaining but you absolutely can't behave in such manner against the umpires and other match officials. It was so infuriating to watch and it's actually embarrassing that from the days of Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Kumble who were thorough gents on the field, we a have a man child leading us. I love Kohli as a player but Tim Paine's got a point.

The frustrating thing is the ICC is gonna do fu** all about this and we already know it. Think Kohli's just jealous that Rahane led India to the greatest achievement of the country's test history and pressure on his captaincy is showing. Can't wait for the era of the Promised Prince (TM) who seems a nice bloke on field!
