One of the better decision. That guy never had a good T20 career. He is very old now. He is not going to suddenly become Jos Buttler. His career SR 125 or so. He played a few scratchy knocks in Asia cup. Plenty of dot balls too. Pakistan has to move on from him, Salman ALi Agha

Usman Khan is utterly useless and captain Agha Tulla needs to go before T20 WC. This is my and will be our team for the T20 WC next year

5 Fakhar (I would not take him as he has been medicore and is too old now but in SC Conditions it might be worth the gamble)

Everyone should get behind this team. No RizBar opening together they are separated by Farhan and Saim. Plenty of bowling options and batting for T20 all the way down to 9 packed with big hitters. Packing your batting is the way to go in T20.

Man how many changes you want have look at other team same marsh head carey playing even india only in pakistan you want to keep changing squad no wonder why pakistan is in this mess it's the fans as well who just want to bring new guys if they don't do well what next you still have samad hassan nawaz they have the chance to do well make their name.

Ya maaz is better than babar happy this maaz drama will end soon in tears you guys never learn what happen to so called best talent hassan nawaz and harris both failed badly in asia cup you guys will put any random name and justify his place in team same with big teeth usman khan who smashes every bowler in domestic cricket yet fails in international level same will be the case for maaz.

This drama will end in humiliation as usual. We saw with Agha, we saw with Harris, we saw with Fakhar who was supposed to become Bradman as T20I opener and could not even clear the infield.
 
I reported two days ago that Usman Khan will replace tulla Haris and Naseem Shah will replace Shaheen as he is being rested. Usman Tariq I was not aware of that is a good change. I would had retained Fakhar to replace Agha and given him T20 captaincy as well but dropping him is a poor decision.
 
Who has the final say in selection because this is mind boggling.

In the last game, Fakhar made 46 runs in a high pressure game and had a 80+ run opening partnership with Farhan.

Anyone with a brain could see that here is a good potential opening partnership. You have a left/right hand combo, two good strikers who can play well together and keep the run rate at a good rate.

Instead, you have brought back Babar who has shown NO signs of improvement playing spin and you will take him to Sri Lanka where spinners will be doing the bulk of bowling.

He had time away this year where he could have worked with the coaches, played some domestics first class games and even could have played some County but no he chose to not work on anything.

This is a terrible squad, pretty soon Rizwan will be back once Usman fails and then it will be back to the same old mediocrity.

To drop fakhar for babar is foolishness of highest level, Fakhar was your best batsman in tri series and asia cup. Only reason could be age. Usman khan for haris, i understand haris is not good player of spin but whats the guarantee we will get spin pitches in srilanka and not flat pitches. On flat pitches haris is your match winner.
 
Fakhar was your second best batter in Asia cup and you drop him ? Really are you planning to go into WC without him . If it’s just to accommodate Babar then it’s shameful . Farhan should be in ODI also
 
You’ve got to hand it to @GoUgandaCranes whose been liking posts that are anti Babar return, but he himself has been on a secret mission to campaigning against the youngsters

Good team to be honest. Fakhar can come back if saim does not get back to form. Fakhar is not dropped. He is among the reserves
 
I know Fakhar has a better record in the ODIs but on what grounds has he been dropped from the T20 squad?

He and Farhan provided brisk solid starts in two Asia Cup games. It is another matter that our middle order was just not good enough to capitalise on those good starts.

Why break a promising opening combo?
 
Fakhar hasn’t been dropped I’m sure, just that The Fraud has been given an opportunity to disappoint once more in a format where is irrelevant.

But your claims about Babar have been historically stupid in general.

I will repeat myself, Every single Batsmen in the aussie lineup (Test, Odi and t20) is better then Babar Azam excluding Sam Konstas atm.

As of today Connely and Owen are now effectively > him as well.

Konstas is the only one left.

And I will say it again, no batter in the Aussies line-up is near Babar. Only Steven Smith in tests, he is GOAT level so Babar is defo way behind in that particular format. Apart from him, NO ONE EVEN CLOSE.

Babar has been the worst test batsmen amoung his own peers(excluding Abdullah) in the test squad.

He's lucky that Pakistan hasnt played that many odi's and he has played a grand total of 0 t20's in 2025 otherwise that bubble would burst as well.

Babar at his absolute absolute peak(which no longer exists) is a 40 avg odi batsmen against top sides with a 78-83 SR and is a better version of Labu in odi.

In tests at peak he's a 35 avg batsmen and in the same mould of current shan but was elevated thanks to Ramiz Raja crafted absolute roads.

And in t20 he was at Best a Steve Smith level T20 batsmen. Steve Smith who was always crap as an international t20 batsmen and was only Gun in BBL provided BBL happens in Sydney or Melbourne otherwise Smith sucks in adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin in BBL as well.

This is all In absolute peak periods from 2019-2021.

At present he is the 2nd worst test batsmen representing Pakistan, 1st being Abdullah, amoung the top 5 worst in odi representing PK and one of the worst t20 openers in history.

Grand number of 0 T20is, still the only Pakistani to be in the ICC T20 team of the year for 2024. His drop from the team wasn't justified in the first place. Yes, he is not on the same level but way better than rest of the players across formats.

Babar is the best T20i and ODI batter ever produced by Pakistan. His 3 T20i tons, all against SEN countries are bigger than many of T20's greats careers. Not to mention he has 11 T20 tons which are I think 2nd or 3rd in the all-time list behind Chris Gayle. Babar is indeed on of the greatests. Only the agenda merchants Like yourself and Rana disagree to that.

Pakistan has a poor history in t20. If you wanna put babar as no 1, Even though I heavily disagree, he isn't even close t0 being no 1 in t20 for Pakistan as a batsmen 🤣🤣,

But if you wish to shove era difference in the toilet and use pure statistics, thats fine.

In odi babar hasnt even surpassed Ijaz Ahmed. Inzi, Zaheer, Yousaf, Saeed Anwar door ki Baat hai.

Their is literally a Grand Canyon level gulf between them. A 55 year old dinasour Inzi humiliated current so called Peak Babar in a charity match. Sharam karo.
 
I don't like the squads personally. Babar & Naseem haven't really earned recalls in either formats. Rizwan gets sacked as captain but continued in the squad when it would have been wise to blood a new keeper in the team. However, I like the inclusion of Faisal Akram but because of his age, maybe continuing with Sufiyaan would have been a good idea. Would have looked at Abbas Afridi for both formats.

As for T20, Usman Khan being the alternative to Haris is truly telling to the lack of WK's in Pakistan coming through. Nice to see Salman Mirza being picked & potentially Abdul Samad who's stats don't really compliment a recall for him though. Usman Tariq is a interesting pick, I don't mind it personally. However, no Fakhar Zaman is beyond head-scratching. A big series for Agha Ali Salman, T20 is the only format where he has struggled & needs to get some runs.

People needs to temper their expectations on Babar's return, he isn't the same player from 4/5 years ago. Bringing him back could & I personally do think so, will be a hinderance to the team. Shan Masood who have made more sense to be picked in the T20 ahead of Babar because he shows flexibility & intent unlike RizBar.

Fakhar played in wrong era of odi cricket when it is becoming less and less...if he played during 2010-15 era he would be breaking saeed anwar century record....I think he would have been better than saeed anwar....

Recall Rizwan as well, make he or Babar captain before the next World Cup.

I’ve seen enough and know this absolutely needs to happen now or it will cost us another 5 years

Are you dreaming? Who’s criticising Hesson? You think the people who hate Babar and Rizwan in T20s don’t know what’s happened here? Why do you think I kept on banging away at RizBar in T20s even when they were out of the side but not retired in T20is?

I disagree with Misbah’s white ball tactics. A man who has made howlers such as pairing Babar and Rizwan to open with Fakhar at 3, and has also given Imam ul Haq a T20i, and has opened the innings with Rizwan+Taufiq Umar for SNGPL…

But he also rates Sharjeel Khan as one of the most naturally gifted batsmen in Pakistan history….which I agree with….

So what is the rule or law? I have to agree to Misbah’s pathetic decisions because he likes Sharjeel too?

Do you really believe Misbah? Sharjeel warmed the bench when Misbah was all powerful coach and selector. Did you see Sharjeel open? Why didn’t naturally gifted opener open?

Fun Fact Babar Azam's SR in T20i is almost the same as Sharjeel. Only difference is Babar averages double what Sharjeel does with a lot more runs.
