I was thinking how well Babar played most of the times in this world cup and then decided to see how he did against the top bowlers. Because, for me to really rate someone extremely highly he has to take on the best.

So I made a list of the best bowlers playing in the WC : Bumrah, Starc, Cummins, Boult, Fergie, Archer, Wood, Fizz and Rabada. Surely this list can be discussed and no problem on it.

So facing these bowlers, he made a total of 101 runs in 100 balls without being even dismissed once.
I really was surprised that he was so good against them, especially the SR. And not being dismissed even once is also a very good achievement.
That is a very good sign for things to come from Babar.

It's Bumrah/Amir because I did the same thing for Kohli. But don't want to post it because it will turn the thread to another debate.

If babar improves his batting against spin, then babar will be the successor to king kohli in a couple of years time!!!

Very good, what about the best spinners in the tournament? I'm mainly thinking of Rashid and Tahir.

I've highlighted that he needs to improve against spin, especially as the next wc is in india!!
Hes still young, he inshaAllah can get better!!

Yeah fair, but what are his numbers against them in this world cup? (stats are not everything but will be interesting to have a look)

Will do them this afternoon.

I think he doesn't pick wristspinners very well and he has released it so he doesn't risk against them.
He has to improve his strike rotation against them.

Don't really care about numbers. Babar's batting throughout the tournament was beautiful. Such pretty shots they'd be the centerpiece in an art gallery.

Other than Rohit who plays some equisit shots, no one comes close for consistent beautification of batting.

Babar is probably the finest player of fast bowling alongside Williamson and Root.

It's refreshing to see. Hopefully Babar continues in this manner and continues to convert it into test form.

I think Williamson is a tad too slow. Babar and Root are the top fast bowling players.

And Babar is the best player of short bowling in the world.

I do think Williamson has been far too slow this tournament but looking back at it, his innings have been crucial in holding together a very fragile batting line up with 3 of the top 4 so out of form.

Williamson has to rebuild every game thanks to the useless openers that NZ have. I think he can be given some leeway for batting slightly slower.
