Babar is mediocre.

No matter what he does unless he hits 2 100s in the coming World Cup at a SR of 150+ plus at least two 40 plus scores at a SR of 170, I don't care what stats you throw at me.

For T20 standards he is incredibly mediocre.

But why spoil the fun for the OP?

Lets watch this unfold in a few months as all his supporters will be in tears and still trying to hang on to once upon a lifetime innings against NZ, once upon a lifetime chase vs India 10 years ago etc.

Comparing babar's strike rate with all Pakistan players will show the reality... There is no need to look for other teams.

However, others have been batting worse than him or as bad as him at a worse average, and you need one accumulator in a team like Pakistan.

I don’t know who that is. Lmao just look at the people around the world that think Babar is a good player and their cricketing IQ and then the ones against him. You’ll see a clear pattern which you claim to be smart enough to recognize. You’ll get your answer on where you fall.

Even your hero Younis Khan recently talked very highly about Babar Azam in an interview with Fawad Alam. Younis said he is Pakistan’s most accomplished player at this stage in his career.

You've seen Babar's form of late in the BBL and prior to that in the tri-series. Can you honestly say that he is worthy of selection in both the starting XI and in the squad?

You've used AI to use his career strike rate to advocate his selection. Well there's two issues with this:

1. Career strike rate of 128 is poor for a player who has batted two thirds (87 out of 129) of all his T20 innings as an opener, where he has had ample opportunities to utilise the powerplay.

2. To make matters worse, Babar trajectory is going downwards. This is evident by the following:

BBL current strike rate after 8 matches: 104
Pakistan Tri-Series (Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka) Nov 25 strike rate: 112
Babar's 2025 strike rate for Pakistan in T20Is: 114

Unlike you, I came up with this without having to use AI. I obtained all my stats from reputable sources like Cricinfo, which you can check for yourself.

If you’re being fair, informed and sincere about cricket, there’s simply no justification for selecting Babar in the starting XI.

I don’t think you have a problem with AI but rather the argument being made. Where do you think the AI pulled stats from. Work smarter not harder . Anyway it’s no secret that Babar is out of form. However a player of his reputation and calibre easily makes the Pakistani XI. We can agree to disagree on that.

Okay I used AI instead of going to Cricinfo or googling. I didn’t hide it because I don’t care that you know it’s AI. I wanted certain stats and it got it for me. So you don’t have anything to argue about or dispute the statistics so you’ll just keep on delving on that. Typical Babar hater never have anything concrete to say.

The fact is 99% of Pakistani fans will agree that Babar is not a good fit for T20s and you don't have to look far to get an idea because even majority of the posters in this thread which you created mind you are saying that and backing it up with straight facts.

You on the other hand are apart of that 1% minority and you know that, you think the majority of us are just crazy? You're the only one that's right and we're all drunk right?

Going forward, the selection criteria should include a minimum strike rate of 100 for ODIs and 140-150 for T20Is as the benchmark
