BHOPAL: In a significant development, the Bajrang Dal (associated outfit of ruling BJP’s parent body RSS) has started holding combat and arms training camps for its new entrants in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh – to enable them to deal “rashtra-drohis” (anti-nationals).

The list of “anti-nationals” for combating whom these camps are being organized, include the Azadi gang of JNU, those indulgent in “Love Jihad” and elements allegedly indulgent in cow smuggling and slaughter.

The latest such camp, a nine-day camp was held earlier this month in Biora town of Rajgarh district (115 km from Bhopal), while a similar camp is planned for new Bajrang Dal activists elsewhere in the state next month.

The nine-day camp at Biora (Rajgarh) saw 118 Bajrang Dal activists getting trained in self-defence/combat skills through grounding in Karate and Lathi combat, which is termed by the saffron brigade as “Dand-Yuddh.”

The camp also saw the young saffron outfit activists get trained in shooting skills through target practice with air guns, besides grounding in crossing of hurdles like monkey-rope and crawling through bunkers. Entire training was imparted by seasoned Bajrang Dal trainers only.

“This camp is not new in the country, but is part of our annual training exercise (Prashikshan Varg) which has been underway nationally since 1984 to make new entrants in Bajrang Dal physically and mentally strong,” said Bajrang Dal prant samanvayak Devisingh Sisodiya.

“Through these camps we’re also preparing our Dal’s cadres to deal with new threats from anti-nationals active within the country, including the Bharat tere tukde honge-leke rahenge azadi gang of JNU, those indulging in Love-Jihad and cow smuggling-cow slaughter. We’re training our cadres to deal with such anti-nationals in the language which such people understand,” said Sisodiya.

When questioned as to whether permission was sought from local administration for holding the nine-day camp, where the young saffron cadres were trained in target shooting, the Bajrang Dal leader said “we don’t need any administrative-police clearance for our training camp, particularly as we’re not at all using weapons for which permission is required. Do the terrorists waging a war against the country or those dealing in illegal arms have prior official permission to carry out their anti-national activities. We’re only training our nationalist cadres in guarding the country and society, what’s the need to have permission for it,” questioned Sisodiya.

While the ruling BJP rendered a guarded response over the development, the opposition Congress was quick to question the efficiency of government agencies per se the Bajrang Dal training camp.

“If the camp was only aimed at grounding in self-defence skills it’s alright, but if the exercise included training through illegal weapons, then the law will take its own course in the matter,” said Madhya Pradesh BJP spokesperson Rajnish Agrawal on Sunday.

The state Congress spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi questioned the efficiency of the central and state government agencies over the holding of such arms training camps by the saffron outfit in Bhopal’s neighbourhood. “Arms training to Bajrang Dal cadres sans any administrative-police clearance puts under cloud the effectiveness and efficiency of the central and state government agencies. Further, if Bajrang Dal is holding training camps to combat anti-nationals, then it becomes crystal clear that their own government at the centre and in states has failed to do their job of checking anti-national activities in the country,” said Chaturvedi.

Crazy thing is that these guys aren't some random group, they are associated with the ruling party.

These seem to be like the Hindu version of militant training camps across the border in Pakistan. The main difference seems to be they fly under the radar internationally as they are basically home based and of little consequence to the outside world. Would that be a correct analysis?

They fly under the radar because they are incompetent in what they do. They are extremists but lack the ability to carry out strikes or sophisticated attacks, they can merely bully the numerically weak groups. As far as intimidation factor goes, a 15 year old schoolchild can overpower these stick wielding inept lunatics, that's how well trained they are. Moreover this is a localized movement, if they had some global (or even pan India) presence perhaps more people would have had a laugh over their bizarre antics. Bajrang Dal like organizations have no presence in a state like Tamil Nadu. The local Tamil outfits will kick their ***** if they ever try to create ruckus in the state and TN police can be pretty brutal on such elements.

Sound like a modern day SA. Wonder if their leaders fly the same way old Ernst did

This is true. bajrang dal are kids in front of the tamil groups which are the real deal. like the now defunct ltte and that group behind coimbatore blasts. No competition.

Self defense techniques, Stick wielding or Air Guns target practice are not militant training. They are not training in assualt rifles or bomb making etc. So the comparision doesnt even arise.

The comparison should always be relative to the traits of the community. If a community is known to be cowardly, then a section of them wielding sticks should be treated as extremists.

I agree, but this is what 99% of the madrassas in Pakistan will claim, perhaps we should reassess the negative publicity surrounding those groups as well.

I have no idea about Pakistani Madrasas but Pakistanis who entered India to conduct terror attacks were wielding assault rifles etc etc.

Even in punjab rss or bajrang dal get the beatings man..sometimes it seems like may be they need some sort of protection from others loll...dnnow....nobody should be allowed to take justice in their hands anywhere ,if anyone tries to do that .....

I was talking about the 99% of madrassas in Pakistan, not the terrorists who entered India and whose origin is disputed.

Why not train them against corruption in Govn offices? Don't the cadrrs ever ask that question to their puppet masters?

Probably because their relatives work in that same office?

Same old whataboutism. At least they are fighting against one evil. If you are so concerned about corruption, why don't you take up the fight instead of giving sermons to a country you have no affinity with.

What evil are they fighting against?

I'm sure if something is a threat to India it's always been corruption for the common man, the others probably secondary being caste and religious discrimination, but if corruption is taken care of surely this would not matter.

It wasn't disputed ur own news channel confirmed the identity of kasab if I am not mistaken, also nawaz admitted of kasab being a Pakistani kuch to sharam Karo.

Then why don't you take up the fight against corruption? Why wanting someone else to do something just because you have no will to walk the talk?

They are merely trained in self-defence techniques using martial art and small weapons like knives and sticks.
Not 'militancy' training by any definition. Nothing compared to the sophisticated weaponry training that Jihadist organisations are known to impart to their minions.

By origin I meant madrassa affiliation not nationality, so technically that was disputed. In any case the mention of Kasab was done by your compatriot not me so don't know why we are discussing him unless it is an attempt to divert from the topic.

That will be covered in the next semester. :inti

India needs patriotic and nationalist spirit. Serving two years as a Bajrang Dal cadre should be made compulsory for every able bodied citizen. A nation of full blooded patriots who are not ashamed to say Jai Hind.

LTTE was based in Sri Lanka and is now defunct as you said. Al Ummah has been banned by the TN government, the terrorists have either been bumped off or put behind bars. Just because you are an ignorant person doesn't mean you have to highlight it in every post of yours. How many communal riots/bomb blasts have taken place in Tamil Nadu and how does it compare to other places in South Asia?

In this picture, are they holding sticks or knives?

It's funny that some here are trying to make it seems like that this is some small community activity where people are learning martial arts with sticks lol.

Just out of curiosity, you are clearly a true Indian patriot, why do you have a Bangladesh flag next to your name?

I was just agreeing with you that these bajrang dal wannabes are nothing in front of the Tamil groups. I mean Tamil Nadu has led the way when it comes to the real deal. has ltte support dwindled in tamil nadu now, heard prabhakaran was like a national hero in that part of the world. how is he perceived nowadays?

At least his likes won't win an election in TN anytime soon. Meanwhile in some other parts of India rabid communal extremists are often elected to power by the people.

Don't know why you are getting worked up. Did prabhakaran stand for election in TN, or did Al Ummah contest the elections and lost? When they did not stand for elections, your statement is worthless.

But tell me, my new best friend, why would LTTE supremo meet tamil nadu politicians, why Vaiko met him, and why the terrorist write to karunanidhi..the same people you guys would vote to power??

You are right. when it comes to terrorism in Tamil Nadu, the tamil outfits are the undisputed kings. Bajrang dal are doves in comparison to these tamil tigers. After all it was these tamil tigers who introduced suicide bombing.
