Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh gets underway on March 11 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, with the first of three day-night ODIs. Led by new captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan will be eager to start the series on a winning note and set the tone under his leadership. Bangladesh, meanwhile, will look to capitalize on home advantage, where their spinners and experienced campaigners have often proved decisive.

With all three matches scheduled under floodlights, the contest promises high-intensity cricket and a battle of nerves in the middle overs. Pakistan’s pace attack against Bangladesh’s batting depth, and the visitors’ middle-order stability against the hosts’ spin challenge, will be key factors. The opener sets the stage for a fascinating series – can Pakistan strike first under Shaheen’s captaincy, or will Bangladesh draw first blood at home?

What is the point of this series again? So are we saying, had Pakistan qualified for WT20 finals today, they would have taken on Bangladesh in a JAMODI just 3 days after?

I think they will go with the below line up.

Shamyl
Farhan
Maaz
Rizwan ( should bar at 6)
Salman
Talat
Saad
Faheem
Shaheen
Haris

This series is part of the Future Tour Programme (FTP). :inti

The tour is divided into 3 parts. T20 series happened last year. ODI series now. Test series in May.

The world laughs at us , and it will be evident after Bangladesh Series

Look at Pakistans Pace attack

SSA (unfit) Rauf (tape baller)

This team lacks aura , charisma , swagger and bravado to pull things off.

We need more characters like Rizwan

Highly unlikely to have three pace bowling options in BD. Don't know the pitch but when Windies played, almost 50 overs were being bowled by the spinners.

Seriously, are Pakistani fans even interested in this series? That too against Bangladesh, and that too on doctored pitches. :kp

Yeah. In Mirpur, you don't need 3 pacers. It is generally a spin-friendly pitch. 3 spinners makes more sense.

Not almost, all 50 overs were bowled by spinners.

Ironically enough these are perfect conditions for a bowler like Mohammad Nawaz but they dropped him from the squad lol.

In 50 overs, anywhere from 250-300 will make up for good games. Its when you start seeing 350 scores things get out of hand. Wankhede is the worst stadium of all for these kinds of pitches.

Mumbai has one of the worst cricket pitches. I agree.

When 350+ is par on any ground, why play bowlers? They are better off using bowling machines. :inti

Lol, it’s amusing how Bangladesh fans talk about pitches in other nations while their own pitches are horrible to play any international cricket.

I remember a while back de Villiers scored like 150 runs at Wankehede in some IPL match. That's almost like 200 runs today lol.

Why shouldn't they? The deserving youngsters have been selected. True Pakistan fans must watch and back their youngsters.

Call me boring or biased but I rather see a tense 130 run chase game than a 250+ thriller.

Indian pitches have made a mockery of the beautiful game of cricket.
India scored 287 in South Africa at Wanderers. If Virat Kohli , KL Rahul had batted they would have reached 180 at best.

I started following cricket when Riz, Babar, Kohli, Rahul weren’t even born. It is not about individuals. It is about the balance between bat and bowl.
No not at all. India used to have 7 batsmen 4 tailenders. In such a scenario. If 2 wickets fall they invariably shut shop regardless. Now they carry 8 batsmen. 7 of them can score at 200 strike rate. With franchisee cricket around game is going in a differnet direction. We have the same wankhede for decades. They didn't really change anything. At wankhede in 2011 final SL made only 276.

It really is'nt an important series given next wc is in SA, also tbf you these extra ultra spin firndly pitches in bangladesh only?, No wonder they've beaten teams that are much better than them like Aus/Eng at home, heck even indian in 2022, so it really does'nt matter what the result should be

then I guess you dont like the swamps of BD where a mediocre darter becomes Murali re invented or the erst while green pitches of England where a dibbler dobbler becomes Mc Grath personified.

If Nawaz wasn't selected as he averages over 35 in the format then Sufiyan Muqeem should've been selected atleast.
Pitches there are more conducive to finger spinners. Wrist-spinners often lack control which can hurt you if its a 210-type pitch. I don't think you need more than one wrist-spinner in Bangladesh.

After the last few matches in the T20 World Cup, this ODI series is going to feel like watching cricket in slow motion.

It’s like driving 170 km/h on the German Autobahn and then suddenly dropping to 100 km/h on a smaller road — everything feels painfully slow, almost like moving at a turtle’s pace.

If there is one tour that will teach you the least that is Bangladehs tour. Nowhere in the world you see pitches like this. Pakistan should send noobs

If teams want to learn how to play on spin pitches, they should come to Mirpur. :dav

Mirpur is a ground where all Test nations have suffered at least one series defeat.

Aussies lost 1-4 here.
England lost 0-3.
Kiwis lost 0-3, 0-4, and 2-3.
India lost 1-2.
Pakistan lost 1-2.
SL lost 1-2.
Windies lost a few times.
South Africa lost 1-2.

Has to be the worst place to visit for anyone for anything. Having been to Dhaka multiple times, i know why it ranks the worst place to live on earth consistently. Poor quality pitches, horrible fans, low grade cricket, arrogant players, etc. overall sh** place to play cricket and absolutely shows in their achievements as a pathetic nation

If all ICC events were held in Mirpur the tiger in Bangladesh would awaken and they would eat everyone in the jungle.

My guess is Pakistan will try to load up on batting based on the inexperience in the squad and in particular, your top 3 positions which are generally the key for most sides. My guess is it will be a struggle of a series and I could see the new guys really struggling in tough conditions but who knows, maybe (and hopefully) they surprise and show some grit.

My guess on the XI:

Farhan
Shamyl
Maaz
Rizwan
Agha
Talat
Masood
Faheem
Shaheen
Rauf/Wasim
Abrar

Pretty much every Australian and England fast bowlers from past concede he is definitely the greatest white ball bowler of all time. T20 is the harshest format for a fast bowler compared to any other format. Ultimate test is in this format. Especially on flat wickets it is insanely difficult to do well.

It is just a regular bilateral series. Nothing is at stake.

Pakistan should try out youngsters in my opinion. :inti

Salty bhakts are derailing this thread with off-topic nonsense. :inti

Let's return to topic.

Whoever win the toss should bat first in my opinion. :inti
