Nothing new. That has been history of Pakistan. I dont know why we are reacting so badly when we haven't been able to draw a test match in Australia since 1999

Pretty simple. The fear of playing your shots and natural game in a nutshell. This is not going to change in one day will need time before a new culture kicks in.

I could make a chart of batting averages before and after misbah. What's the point

Worst performers on 5th day

We have recently collapsed more than often on the 5th day.Seriously! test that was heading for sure draw our team made it result oriented. Even the rain which effected this test could not save us from the lost time. We played very similar against 2nd test in New Zealand. We are great we make Lyon the ordinary spinner look like a threatfull bowler. We make any opposition bowler look like a star that's how incompetent our team looks on the 5th day . Lastly stop the crap of how great our attack is and come out of shadow of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younus. We all saw three centuries from Australia and above all made at a fast rate against our so called the "superior, strength the bowling attack". I quote there is no talent in Pakistan. I guess the Fricken last 10 years of terrorism in Pakistan has effected every life and cricket is no different. No team wants to come every person who got opportunity left Pakistan then what talent are we talking about. My last hope is PSL probably we might unearth some jewels.

now this is a great post and some serious points being raised. that is exactly why i started this thread and purposefully left it open ended

first, lets face it. under misbah, our batting has not stabilized and we are facing a lot of collapses especially in 3rd and 4th innings. so get out of that myth that somehow our batting is very stable

second, we have not produced any world class batsman post 2010. azhar and shafiq are both 31+ and are pre-2010 production. either misbah deliberately ignored it or we have nothing in reserves. now misbah and younis will be kicked out. be honest. do we have anyone to fill their gaps? isnt this a huge dilemma

we could not solve openers dilemma and it is still an issue

I do agree with the poster that "there is not enough talent in Pakistan. I guess the Fricken last 10 years of terrorism in Pakistan has effected every life and cricket is no different. No team wants to come every person who got opportunity left Pakistan then what talent are we talking about"

This is Misbah's loser legacy. So many matches we should have comfortably drawn which we ended up loosing.

There was one against NZ in 2014 UAE.. but a good list

Actually Misbah and Younis were the only reason our teams drew test matches before. Both of them averaged the highest in 4th innings (61 and 60 respectively), and were the major guns that stuck to the crease for hours and hours.. however since their decline we have been struggling alarmingly in 4th innings to save test matches..

Brisbane was actually an outlier to how Pakistan has been a very poor 4th innings team (batting wise).. its like how Pakistan are as a team chasing in ODIs.. mentally we lose the game the moment we realize we have to chase anything above 250..

Same is the case in test matches, when we realize we have to bat in the 4th innings.. it sends a panic in our dressing room
