The latest hit piece by BBC News , “Gen Z rising? Why young Indians aren’t taking to the streets,” is a propaganda piece that blatantly attempts to provoke India’s Gen Z into chaos and riots. It can be seen as meddling in the affairs of a sovereign democracy like India.

1) The article romanticises youth uprisings in Nepal, Bangladesh, Madagascar, and Indonesia, painting them as heroic “fast-moving, decentralised” revolutions against corruption and inequality. They gush about how Nepalese protesters toppled a government in 48 hours and Bangladeshi youth brought regime change.

2) The article laments India’s Gen Z not taking to the streets by referring to “fragmentation” along caste, regional, and linguistic lines, with no single force uniting them.

India’s diversity is its strength and makes the democracy vibrant yet the BBC perceives it as a “barrier” to a unified “revolution.”

This is classic BBC playbook, amplifying dissent to de-legitimise India’s elected government and encourage defiance, urging protests, they’re amplifying calls for unrest.

Neutral news or interference disguised as a concern?

Why only india? Why not their friends and countries like Pakistan, afg, Sudan etc where democracy may do wonders .seems some one on the behalf of cong is getting impatient.

Lol.... Revolution for what?.. military rule😂.. rahul gandhi🤣 corrupt judiciary 😂.. corrupt babus🤣
Whatever freedoms we have now as a junta.. BBC wants to take that as well.

India need a regime change.

Chaiwala Modi is a rogue extremist who should be removed from power. :inti

Indians have lost their ability to lecture others on a ton of topics after opening up to Taliban.

BBC has always been anti-India and anti-Hindu, with leftist propaganda trying to destabilize India and discredit its civilization. BBC has long been the voice of neo-colonialism with Marxist sympathies

:kp

No doubt BBC is anti India and they are trying one more Partition of India. Rahul Gandhi few days ago appealed Gen Z to make agitation and protest against BJP government, but nobody come up

Now India alliance activists are doing shameful thing in BJP ruled states. Molestation of 2 Australian players in Indore is an example

We made a start by clipping Narendra's wings and denying him a majority in 2024.

In 2029, let's send him back to the Ghaas Phoos abode where he belongs.

By the way, if the BBC/CNN wrote a positive article on them, the Sanghi lot will be th first ones to say: "Look! Look! The white man is respecting me. IT cell, please publish this everywhere".

Morons.

BJP - 240
Congress -99

Congress need fresh leadership like Sachin pilot and leaders who talk about real things instead criticized government for everything.

Criticized removel of article 370, CAA, Ram temple etc cost Congress a lot. These are changed love by majority of Indian regardless of politics.

BBC seems to be unhappy that youth in India are not rioting and trying to topple their government.

Remembered late atal Bihari Vajpayee famous Words - Governments will come and go, parties will be formed and destroyed, but this country must remain, its democracy must remain immortal!!!

India 🇮🇳 above any politics.

:kp

BBC seems to be unhappy that youth in India are not rioting and trying to topple their government.

They're one news organization in an island country on the corner of the planet.

No thanks. Not a supporter of Modi and BJP but no one has right to topple a elected government in india apart from Indian.

Maybe look a the own nation where no PM completed his tenure as an PM. :klopp :kp
You opened a thread about India, right? So obviously I am going to talk about India. :srt

India needs to be saved! We are here to help! 🫡

:asghar :wenger
No thanks! The world has been how much you have been successful in saving your own country. By the way, when do you think you'll be able to elect a Government of your choice in Pakistan?

Oh! I almost forgot, it's Pakistan we are speaking about where no PM till date has completed his/her tenure of 5 years.

Indianos crying about Pak yet again in a thread dedicated to India :wenger :asghar 🤣 #rentfree

When you poke your ugly big nose in our matters, it's obviously your country we have to target, LMAO.

It's a really poorly written lazy article with no proper research. There's no denying Indian youth are frustrated and disconnected but so unfortunately are youth around the world today. If Indian youth have occasionally exploded in rage, so have youth in many countries - France, England, the US etc.

What prevents the rage from boiling over in India and the above-mentioned countries vs. countries like Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka is the safety valve of a long established democracy and institutions that still work to the extent that people have some faith in them.

One the themes I remember from my early days of the internet, circa mid 2000s, was BBC writing hit pieces on Pakistan, and Indians telling Pakistanis to the effect of that BBC was very credible and that we would be foolish or in denial to not believe them. That went on for quite many years. How times have changed. I think what they really should have said was, media is only credible so long as they do not criticize India or say anything negative about India.

Indians have lost their ability to lecture others on a ton of topics after opening up to Taliban.
But Pakistan after supporting Taliban and every terrorists can lecture the whole world on how India is killing Muslims while it stones and eradicates minorities from all countries....just few years back you celebrated the return of Taliban...

You may have been speaking about other people, I never celebrated the Taliban or supported them. Feel free to go through my post history going back almost 20 years. The only inconsistent hypocrites are you guys who used to lecture on and on about Taliban, and now here we are.

If pak can be friends with China who makes Muslims as slaves and gets work done, why cant india be friends with opposite end?.is it not about enemy of enemy is friend policy? Every enemy of india is Pakistan friend and viceversa.what's wrong in it?

From the article:

“The fear of being branded "anti-national," deters even the most aware and connected young people from taking to the streets, says Dhairya Choudhary, a 23-year-old political science graduate. In India, that label is often deployed by some politicians and television anchors to discredit dissent.”

It certainly strikes me that the private media in India has become incredibly nationalistic in the last 10 to 15 years. During the conflict between India and Pakistan earlier this year, the distinction between internet trolls and mainstream media became blurred in India.

You see the trend of nationalistic conformity in other more subtle ways. For example, prominent Indian cricket commentators who once might have offered independent and critical perspectives, are now just extensions of the BCCI and its worldview.

In the age of nationalist pieties, the space for dissent does seem to have narrowed.

Fair..I didn't mean you as an individual

BBC is a far left leaning News outlet. It does not tolerate any government that is not left like itself.

What BBC and many other outside powers forget is that India is safe place for everyone. Sure there are some skirmishes and fights between communities. Overall, everyone gets their fair share and what they deserve. Some more because of their caste and religion.

Gen Z in India are not interested in revolutions and anarchy. They are interested in education and technology. These kinds of revolutions may work in highly corrupt and poorly educated nations. Indian youth are lot smarter.

Political science graduate... :vk2

Unemployable and useless degree. They are good for doing Dharnas and dramas on streets. I can bet that person is from Communist or Congress student union lafoots.

:asghar :wenger
You need to save your own country. You have enemies on both sides of the border and one of them is an Islamic nation. Heck, Pakistan has small escalations with Iran too. What a joke.

So how are people like Karan Thappar, Pravin Sawhney, ThePrint etc etc still surviving 11 years and counting ?

Pretty sure this is where you will quietly exit this thread.

BJP will easily lose majority the day Raga resigns from Congress and Sachin Pilot steps up until then BBC should stick to reporting on how UK might end up going to IMF

Lol here let me say Taliban are evil and I have maintained that but can you say Pakistanis didn’t support Taliban coming back?

Yeah , guess which degree Modi holds? Not only that he did masters in it.
Any kind of degree back in 60’s and 70’s would land you a job. Most people used to do BA and become bank employees and clerical jobs.
In 2025, these BA’s and political science degrees are as good as toilet paper. :vk2

It was the same then too wrt jobs, I’m guessing you are an engineer or MBA or something with STEM, because right now I do actually appreciate these degrees, not everything can be done just with STEM related folks.

Low wage jobs and they compete with 10th or 12th pass people. Many end up as career Andolan Jeevis. They will protest for anyone that pays them.

I say it again, most of these arts, political science degrees are worthless. These days even an MBA is worthless. High paid jobs are only related to STEM degrees. Even among STEM, there is lot of competition.

@Devadwal Wasnt worried when multiple jets were blown out of the Sky but any BBC led revolution has got him concerned. lol

Modi is on his way out to the tea gardens. BJP will install some other crazed lunatic, it will be fine.

No One beleive Pakistan fake propaganda factory, anyways Pakistan is fully exposed as three Rafael who Pakistan claimed to down are set to participate in USA - India excercise from 10 to 14 November.

There is reason Pakistan has zero credibility.

Do you believe the BBC?

Most Hindu youths are far right Hindutva brainwashed. Even though you dont admit you are a RSS fan, the vast majority are proud of this.

Why do you feel there is a threat to the BJP/RSS rulers?

BBC is considered left leaning and liberal. Why would they hate India? This is just paranoia and delusion taken to a new level.

If anything it is the right wing who would hate Indians, although they won't express it openly. The only reason BBC would criticise Indian is because they are not fans of racist bigots.

They do not hate India as much as they hate BJP which is a rightwing political party.

Any party that does not fit the far left world view of BBC is a racist and bigoted party. This brandishing of names by left shows that they have swung too far left.

Are you a leftie?

Sure. You know everything.

BBC clearly sympathizes with far left elements around the world. I have seen it the way they report on incidents. Of course it’s my opinion.👍

Editorial policy is determined by corporate interests. On neutral issues that don't really concern the UK, BBC generally takes a liberal/center-left stance (not far-left). On issues that do concern UK, BBC has been been known to peddle blatantly right-wing and intellectually dishonest view-points with it's reporting i.e. the War in Gaza, the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Brexit, the Libyan civil war. Even their coverage of Jeremy Corbyn when he was leading Labour.

The point is, the BBC just wouldn't care enough about India to hate the BJP. They just report what they see coming out of there.

BBC is a joke. The same Pakistani guys who have criticized it many times before for its Western bias are now celebrating it… lol.
Gen Z in India is busy learning IT courses, investing in stocks, making useless Instagram reels and wasting time on You-Tube video making. Most of them don’t even care about politics or bother to travel back to their villages to vote.

Pappu tried a couple of times to brainwash the Gen Z during his university visits, but he didn’t succeed, no one really cared.
In India, the majority of students are not interested in politics. We are brought up to focus on completing our studies, getting a good job, marriage, savings. bla bla mostly due to family pressure and ordinary guy is bus with his daily job .

India is also a very diverse country, so what happens in one region doesn’t matter much to others.
Example, the farmers’ agitation was projected as a massive movement by international media, but in reality, it was limited to just 2-3 states. Farmers in South India didn’t even care about those protests.

So, my request to some delusional Pakistani folks who think Gen Z will bring regime change, its not your army-backed puppet governments to collapse, that’s not possible in my country. :D
Please stop dreaming about revolutions and bringing down our government. In India, governments are elected through a democratic mandate, and only the people have the power to make changes.

The article is written by Indians and published on a British media site. Even this thread was started by an patriot Indian. I don't know why you are getting your knickers in a twist about Pakistanis. Is it just force of habit?

You must either delusional to the highest order, or living in alternate reality, or both, to think these claims are not widely accepted globally at this point.
