BCCI's last shot : Pull out of Champions Trophy

Great! So now you are donating and are free to insult people by shaming them for receiving "handouts" and telling them to "stand on their own two feet". I though Indian movies have some good humane messages. I suggest some of you watch them and try to get back your humanity

So saying to other boards to stand on their feet is also a problem right? It is always others fault but never about own board and country isn't it

If it was that easy, they would do it. Anyways I'm done here. Btw don't really care abt all this revenue sharing stuff. Just some people living in their own bubble triggers me

So is BCCI pulling out ICC Champions Trophy?

Seems a rather silly thing to do and ironic as well since they will lose a lot of money by boycotting over a revenue generation model dispute

Sir if u have cricket mad public atleast utilise it to u r advantage. In india star sports network is not free. U have to pay atleast 300 rs for the entire network of sport channels and because of digitization nobody can see cricket matches with out subscription . Use the cricket crazy people to shell A few quid so that the board, players live a comfortable life. If u want entertainment u have to pay as the networks are paying exorbitant rates for the rights.

For a single match star is paying 40 crores to bcci.

It will be a last resort.BCCI is confident of blocking the proposal.

Icc loses money more than bcci Because 80 percent of icc money comes from india and bcci is getting 21 percent of it

Is it even a last resort?

I fail to understand what boycotting the CT will achieve.

It seems like ICC is not calling their bluff so I would think they have considered the possibility of what to do if BCCI plays hard ball.

It is in India's best interest to play the CT.

I can tell u right now if bcci comes out of icc i can see atleast sl, zim boards coming out and most of wi players siding with bcci as their board is incompetent and ill treats its best players. If u throw sufficient money sa players are going to rrsign enmasse because of politics in sc cricket.

With these players bcci can easily survive but other boards and icc will Not have the cash cow that is bcci and there will be no hand outs and it is left to Individual boards to survive.
Nz cricket is surving on ind tour money as it is openly stated by board

It is in ICC's interest to not call BCCI's bluff, they might go bankrupt if India were to pull out of CT.

It is in India's interest, as well as BCCI, that intl cricket doesn't suffer because of our internal tussles or whatever the eff Manohar is planning.

There is no way we should be giving away $ 150 million or whatever the new model is proposing, we (India) shouldn't be expected to pay for the free luncheons at the ICC Dubai headquarters.

No body gets a free meal. It must be taken from somebody and give it to for free and if u r attacking the person from whom u r taking then i am afraid it will not last long

It is.To show the ICC that there would be not much revenue if BCCI pulls out.

No Indian team means Indian sponsors pulling out and Broadcasters bringing down their payments.

BCCI signed the MPA with a clause that they can withdraw.

I don't mind seeing a bit of socialism in the slightest. If India are the highest earners then it is only fair that they pay the highest rate of tax. We cannot allow world cricket to be run along some anarcho-capitalist, Ayn Rand fantasy land system where might is right and the rich lord it over the poor. Surely a nation which counts prominent socialists like Bhagat Singh and Gandhi as its heroes can have no issue with sharing its wealth with the less fortunate.

Because there are few things that are of far more importance than a game of cricket. And its not just a "few" Indian posters ... its a decision that has firm backing from the Govt , Cricket Administrators , cricketers and a good majority of people in India.

I'm done with this thread.

Kay sera sera

They have been throwing their weight around and getting what they want for years. Why will this time be any different.

Why would anyone walk away from a situation where they have all the power. No one does in the real world. People with power always want/will hold on to it in any way that they can.

Maybe this will give you a clue?

"Gone are the days when we could threaten and get away,” Rai, the head of the four-member Supreme Court-appointed administrator, told Mirror yesterday.
