Senator Bernie Sanders will speak at venues across the UK next month, during a visit in support of his book, Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In, that falls just days before the General Election.

The almost-Democratic presidential candidate will kick things off at Brighton Festival on 1 June, before heading on to Cambridge Union, Oxford Sheldonian, Brixton Academy, Bristol Festival of Ideas and Hay Festival in Powys, Wales.

He is expected to recount experiences from the campaign trail, on which he created a seismic shift in leftist politics, and outline how to move forward with progressive agendas in a post-Trump, post-Brexit world.

His brother Larry, the Green Party candidate for Oxford East in the General Election, said it "will be lovely" to see him.

"All the venues are very big and very sold-out - fortunately, the family are getting free tickets," he told the Press Reader.

"I will certainly be at the Oxford one. I am going to go to Bristol too, but I won't probably sit in the audience, and I will drive with him to Hay so we will have a chance to be together and to talk. It will be lovely."

Jeremy Corbyn is hoping for an endorsement.

Asked whether he thinks he will get one, he said: “I can’t say. I hope he will. I think he probably will, actually. But we mustn’t predict these things.”

Loony.

Thank God America didn't end up with this guy. And that is saying something considering the clown in office

Wow, you prefer Trump comparison? I thought it was most brown nosers who hate themselves

Do you seriously consider him worse than bloodthirsty Hillary and buffoonish Trump, though?

Definitely worse than Hillary who is a centrist on many issues

Trump. Probably not.

Look we should not confuse policy positions with personality

I reckon he would've done better against Trump than she did. The independent vote would have definitely been far more favourable for him than it was for the mechanical, robotic, corrupt and insincere Clinton.

Lot of old Americans (ones who were alive during Cold War) are automatically put off by Sanders due to his socialist tag. I know quite a few who have an irrational disliking for socialism or communism and would never have voted for someone like Sanders who calls himself a socialist

However the polls did say that in a head to head he would have beaten trump. But then again Hillary was predicted to win aswell

Sanders style socialism wouldnt work in America. America is all about individualism and the pursuit of happyness. Thats why there is a historic hatred of big government which is seen as tyrannical and a barrier against the pursuot of liberty as the founding fathers saw it.

But then again Americans need to realise that the 18th century school of liberalism the Adam Smith model creates huge wealth disparity which is why the Liberals died out in the U.K as their policies were inefficient at dealing with a larger growing population.

I fundamentally disagree with his views on most policy items I care about

Unfortunate,he is the only Liberal who imo isn't a loony and can genuinely attrack upcoming generation to be one.

Bernie seems cool....Of late I've been quite ferociously listening to his appearances on TV news shows....
