If you consider all facets of death bowling: economy, bowling variations, field settings etc

For me, I think it's Mitchell Starc. He's slowly getting back in to it after a long lay off. But he is world class!

Starc in full flow is great.. Near perfect Yorkers

Malinga back in his heyday was also pretty good not sure if he can perform the way like he used to at his current age..

Bhuvi/bumrah looked very good in IPL but this is international cricket so will need to see more of their performance in death overs to rate them, but they have the potential..

Amir bowled some good yorkers so I guess he can be effective at death overs.

Don't follow all cricket now so wouldn't know about Southee, rabada, boult? Mustafizzur, English pacers..

Amir. Sad that he was injured in the Indian match. He would have definitely made a difference of 20-30 runs!

BD fans: Fizz is the besht.

Ind fans: Bumrah!

Pak fans: Amir

Other Pak fans: Pick someone white, likely Aussie, so that you don't have to admit that an Indian might be the best. You know, the old Ponting/Vaughn >> SrT technique:afridi1

Wood and Plunkett are also fine death bowlers.

You make valid points. But we sure got a glimpse of Bhuv/Bumrah death bowling in the last match. :kakmal

bumrah was the best pacer (economy wise) in the last match , no bowler in the world can defend run a ball in the death overs on these pattas, both bhuvi and bumrah bowled well in the last match. Bumrah and Starc are the best death bowlers in the world

You actually didn't. Yadav leaked all the runs and they never got anything to defend. Btw, they gave 51 and 54 runs each in their 10 overs.

Umar Gul during his PRIME was unbeatable....
He was mighty good but couldn't continue those performances...
He had the best yorker among all the guys who have played past 2000 till now

I couldn't find an option on cricinfo to select the death overs. However, these are the economy rates since 2015 WC. Minimum criteria is 5 innings.

Thanks man but I think it would be great if we had stats for pace bowlers.

As per stats it's
-Fizz
Starc
-Hazelwood
-Bumrah

However conditions matter. Someone like Starc had to bowl on flatter wickets so I would say Starc is arguably the best overall. Fizz probably best in SC.

Lol Hazlewood is not good at the death

My concern here is that i wouldn't worry even if Fizz goes for plenty of runs but he should be able to take wickets continously and a good amount of them especially in shorter formats of the game...
He always was economical and still is which is highly appreciable but i think he needs to take wickets like he used to during his early days even if it means he gets some bashing...
he is young and has ipl experience as well....
i would like to see him take 2 wickets per match regularly... surely he cant keep on doing this but he should bd able to do it for now...

Still his Stats are too good that nobody can point fingers on him..

Bumrah easily the best death bowler followed by Starc. Malinga & Umar Gul were also deadly during their peaks in death overs.

He has been rusty off Late because of his injury. He is not giving his hundred percent right away. Slowly easing into his rhythm

He bowls at , 135 but once he really reaches 140 his seam up will be better and cutter will be hard to pick as before

Maybe u r right....
Also his action isn't as smooth as it was in 2015

Amazing, just shows how people mix up formats, wahab the ODI and bowler may be average and pathetic on his worst days. But wahab the T20 bowler is different beast all together.

Is this limited to ODI? Because Bumrah has played 33 ODI's in this tenure as against 10 of Wahab Riaz!
In T20, Bumrah has played 18 matches, as against 5 of Wahab.
Bumrah has maintained his record across all these many matches.

it's ofcourse wahab wasim riaz. best in all short formats.

jassi probably number 3.
Wahab is very ordinary, he will get smashed in the coming t20 wc.
Still remember the ball he bowled to steve smith when he was standing out side off stump,.. Basically an umesh yadav clone, better in t20s but worse in tests.

no no. Around here wahab riaz is always 1 in all shorter formats.

jassi gill is number 3.
