Unlikely to see an upset in Texas....hardcore Republican bastion. Would like to be proven wrong tho, cruz just seems so slimy!
Nonetheless the fact that Beto got so close itself is impressive.

There is something common between Texans and Lahoris.
Cruz is the least of the worries for democrats. There are a few current D senate seats that might turn R. Like the one in North Dakota, which is pretty much looks a guaranteed loss with Heitkamp down somewhere between 14-16 points.

lost by 3 or 4 points .Wasn't close in the real sense bit pretty darn god for a deep red state like Texas. Red's will be worried for the state turning purple now.Not to forget BETO spent hella money and still has nothing to show for it . Had he won , he'd be the next Democrat candidate for Presidency /

He can still run for Presidency candidacy. Had he won, he would have better odds to become President.
He has support among Democrats.
He is young compare to Bernie and former VP, Biden. It would be wise for both of them to support him instead of running against him for candidacy, as I do not see either of them winning against incoherent Trumpet.

He got his youth and good looks going for him for sure. Thing is that he didn't WIN in his state . That's a big blow in politics. I personally like him but he i snot vicious enough . I think Democrats need to have someone that takes the fight to Trump .American people love some drama .
Not sure if Bernie or Biden will run. They will be 79 and 77 respectively. That is way up in age. I don't think we have ever elected anyone that old in the last 50,60, 70 years or ever.
I think right now all the democrats have is Warren, Harris and O'Rourke (if he decides to run). I do not see any of the three beating Trump.
Yes, that's a pretty big strike against him. If he can't win his own state, how will do in the entire country.

He’s actually pretty conservative for a Democrat and may not be able to capture attention of the tree hugging hippies in California and other democrat strongholds.
The major reason why he was able to get such support in Texas is because he is fairy moderate and not the typical left wing nut liked bernie sanders that the democrat party has been throwing out in recent years

Actually he is pretty left wing by US standards. In fact him being far left is one of the reason that's being given for his loss. None of teh Super left leaning democrats won expect for maybe bernie. The real reason Beto did so well in texas is because he has a likable personality and good looks , plus he is a for punk rocker. Nobody really likes Ted Cruz and he'd never puled through if he didn't have the R next to his name . I still don't see BETO winning against Trump unless he ups his taking shots game like crazy .
