Beware of the over priced cricket bats

I play club crixket in rawalpindi. Even few first class players ome there aswell.

Recently, I bought an ihsan x8 bat, one of the first class players asked me its price and I told him rs7500. Upon hearing this he was astonished and told me that the real value of the bat was in the range of 1500-2000 only. Even my coach (who himself has played first class) that the bat was way over priced.

I was further on told how in the cities these sports equipment sellers charge double the price when buy crixket gear, so its better if you take some cricket expert with you next time you go buying cricket gear

Cricket bat prices have gone up a lot in the last few years. Maybe they havn't gone shopping last few years.

Like anything in life you paying more money for branded item than an unbranded one. Maybe your friends and coach buy only unbranded stuff from factories or shops.

Also do not forget that most people in subcontinent always say - "you paid too much for it!" This might be just so that they feel they are smart.

did they say they didn;t like the grains or something

Post some pictures of the bat - its hard to say without seeing the bat.

Especially overpriced bit since better grains etc is reserved for higher models. how much wood a bat has for its weight etc.

Imagine if that first class player had to see and comment on the same exact bat, but the owner was a test player instead of you, what would have the first class player said?
"Oh wow !!! What a bat, and what an awesome price."

It has 8 grians, but curved not straight, the grains opened up after 2-3 over net session

some of this is true.

i bought a bat 3 years ago and was quoted 14,000. My cousin plays FC and one phone call later the price of the bat was 10,000.

You can imagine what the real profitable price was!

The same bat is selling for 20k now. Blah
