Boston Marathon Bombings [Suspect #1 Dead, Suspect #2 in Custody]

The Australian government is representitive of the people, the people of Australia are ashamed of they behavoir of Assange. Australian people think that the women that have made allegations about Assange deserve the right to face him in court.

Yes there are a few fanatical anti-american blowhards that try to push some childish theory that the US are going to kill Assange but that dosent fly with 98% of the Australian population.

If you are going to use Assange then be prepared to be laughed at.

Rubbish post.

I dont think you got it right OZGOD, they dropped the right to remain silent for terrorists to allow information that maybe intrinsic to saving lives.

If you are a US citizen you have rights under the 5th amendment but it had to be clarified for terrorists from a different country. The right to silence was over ridden for the safety of terrorist threats to citizens.
To give you an example: If a terrorist is captured after planting a bomb would you expect the police to read him his rights and advise him to remain silent until he consults a lawyer or would you expect them to do everything in thier power to force him to tell them where the bomb is located and try to save lives.

Can you see the prediciment that the police would be in
.

It definitely makes sense to try to force someone captured to tell of any other bombs, but what difference would it make if the captured person was a US citizen or not , and why should there be a difference ?

Someone had control of these boys minds, someone with had them believing they had to kill non believers.

They were conditioned to die in the struggle but with one alive they will now find out who was controlling these boys. Expect a lot of people rejecting having contact with them.

The official story doesn't make sense. As soon as the attack happened I noticed how amateurish it was and how the potential for damage was greater had the attack been planned by trained people.

I dont believe the two guys were trained Jihadis nor do I see it as inside job. Its just a couple of immigrant kids who had trouble adjusting. The same as those kids that shoot schools.

ok I got the story of Sunil Tripathi and his parents should sue the people and media who accused him for bombs.
The Saudi national first accused of bombing and the moroccon ethnic persons accused later should also sue the people and media who accused them for bombs.

What about Mike Mulugeta? Any news who is that guy and why he was accused?

Why do yu think someone was controlling them at all..??

The truth is we will never know now whixh seems awfully convenient yes? Also can someone explain why this alleged jihadi was partying after the blasts??

No, stupidest thing I have heard.

Pretty much. They had a falling out with their uncle over Islam though, but they had little family/guidance (their parents lived in Chechnya) and I just see them as unfortunate kids who just wanted a sense of belonging. The whole story is tragic from every angle.

If you look into the backgrounds of most if not all serial/mass killers, they always have some history of loneliness or irresponsible upbringing or have experienced traumatic events for which they don't receive proper treatment.

Why its the truth..but then yu dont care much for that since youve all ready made your stupid mind up..idiot..the boston pd have admitted they doubt the young bomber will ever speak again..also there is no real evidence he was armed..
He was partying hard though..

What about that, The great khan knows the truth. You have read a few reports on the net and you know the truth. Well done.

Didn't the younger brother smoke, the father said so, and when they said he 'partied', does this mean they could have been alcohol involved, considering his age to it is common, doesn't really seem that well, Islamic to me.

Incompetence is my explanation.

I think with the debacle that was the 9/11 story people are very quick to join the dots and make it into a conspiracy theory due to a deep mistrust of authority.

At the moment i'll stick with the official story of the event. However if things change and new information comes to light then that could change. I'm open minded about these things.

CNN are really working the "sweet younger brother corrupted by wicked older brother" angle.

From the comments section on the Guardian. The dude commenting posted a link to some Russian site and must have translated it.

After the events in Boston, the US, information has been distributed in the press saying that one of the Tsarnaev brothers spent 6 months in Dagestan in 2012. On this basis, there are speculative assumptions that he may have been associated with the Mujahideen of the Caucasus Emirate, in particular with the Mujahideen of Dagestan.

The Command of the Province of Dagestan indicates in this regard that the Caucasian Mujahideen are not fighting against the United States of America. We are at war with Russia, which is not only responsible for the occupation of the Caucasus, but also for heinous crimes against Muslims.

Also, remember that even in respect to the enemy state of Russia, which is fighting the Caucasus Emirate, there is an order by the Emir Dokku Umarov, which prohibits strikes on civilian targets.

In this regard, the Command of the Mujahideen of the Province of Dagestan urges the media, primarily the American, to halt speculations and promotion of Russian propaganda.

If the US government is really interested in establishing the true organizers of Boston bombings, and not in complicity with the Russian show, it should focus on the involvement of Russian security services in the events".

Command of the Mujahideen of the Caucasus Emirate Province of Dagestan

Apparently the younger brother tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the mouth when he was surrounded but the bullet passed out his throat.

That's gruesome.

Unbelievable that he didn't die from that, if true.

I dont think its an anglel. I think its the truth.

It's just speculation at this point, based on what we know that has been released in the press. It's a common thread that resonates when you talk about perpetrators of such terrible crimes - everyone says that they would never have thought that person would be capable of doing them. That doesn't mean he wasn't a sweet, loving bloke, just that we don't know.

I wondered that also. The "Mike" has never been identified. I know people were initially saying that's an Ethiopian name...but other than that nothing. Maybe this Mike is deceased already or something. Odd...

It was just one Mulugeta, not mike..the cops used mike to spell his name, M for Mike.

Basically people heard a name on the police scanner and retweeted it as the suspect, along with Sunil Tripathi who was not even mentioned on the scanner. But once it hit Twitter it was retweeted and retweeted and retweeted.

Well, I don't know. Why not simply wait, and listen to what this kid has to say? People seem far too wrapped up in their own politics, theories and other equally insignificant points to realise that his comments might just shed some light on what happened.

So wait are we allowed to fully discuss politics on this side of the forum? Cause i would love to stoke the fire with political views of my own. (no hate speech or death threats)

Well he apparently just confirmed his brother was the mastermind behind the attack.

Well he apparently just confirmed his brother was the mastermind behind the attack.

CNN interviewed a local mosque they visited, and the elder brother (Tamerlan) converted to Islam and had a history of bursting out with radical viewpoints during prayers and speeches. They asked him to leave the Mosque but he still kept coming.

There is a huge profile of elder brother in WSJ(Wall Street Journal). He was radical for sure. He even scolded a shopkeeper who was selling thanksgivings decoration. He was told to not come to mosque due to his extreme views. He was very normal kid earlier but his mother suddenly became conservative and started preaching his son. He got influenced and that's fine but he took it to extreme. When FBI guys came to interview him he even tried to convert them, LOL.

For some people on this thread it wouldn't be enough if the arrested brother can admit to the attack, and even confirm his motives.

They will look to absolve them of any blame through a series of elaborate dreamt up stories, and somehow pin the blame on whoever is most 'convenient' to them.

The Washington Post is reporting that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has admitted that the bombings were due to US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Report: Bombing suspects motivated by US wars in Iraq, Afghanistan

Print|Comments (69)Posted by Angela Nelson, Boston.com Staff April 23, 2013 12:42 PM

The surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings has told investigators that the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan motivated he and his brother to carry out the attack, according to a report in The Washington Post.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, has acknowledged to investigators his role in the bombings near the race finish line on April 15, the Post reported. The story cites unnamed officials who describe Tsarnaev and his older brother Tamerlan, 26, as "self-radicalized" individuals who appear to have acted on their own.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev died Friday following a firefight with police in Watertown. His younger brother has been charged in the attack that killed three people and wounded more than 250 others. The younger Tsarnaev has not entered a plea.

Unnamed US officials also told The Associated Press that Tamerlan Tsarnaev read jihadist websites and extremist propaganda, including Inspire magazine, an English-language online publication produced by al Qaeda’s Yemen affiliate.

Convert? But they are born muslims.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was married to an American and here he was targeting innocent marathon runners, men, women and children. What did that 8 yr old boy had anything to do with Iraq and Afghanistan to deserve this horrific death? The bloody hypocrite got what he deserved; got run over by his own brother who was trying to save himself. This guy's family came to America as asylum seekers, got every opportunity to have a beautiful life and this is how they repaid the country.

The older brother was lazy and doing nothing while his wife was working 80 hours a weak to support them all. He probably became radicalized just to mask the guilt he had for his pathetic laziness. He brainwashed his younger brother and ruined his life too. What a massive looser.

that is a sad story to read... apparently that woman was born into well-to-do family, father doctor and mother nurse.. her friends say that this guy controlled every step of her and had her dropout of college at 21 to bore his child... she was working day and night supporting him and their daughter.......

I read that there was a domestic altercation before their marriage where he hit her... I wonder why she still stayed with this guy.......

katherine_russell--300x300.jpg

I'm sorry to say this, but she should've known better....

Maybe he didnt hit her hard enough? Anyway its hard to believe she didnt know what he was doing, i will keep eye on her just in case she decides to take revenge. After all she is also boxer. And being muslim im sure FBI will keep eye on her for ever now.

Okay, I was wrong... Apparently it wasn't his future wife that he hit in 2009.. he hit his then girlfriend, allegedly the girl in the picture that Shan posted... and @Shan, the one in your picture isn't the same one that I posted.. two different women...

It seem boxing girl isnt his wife, she was his gf. Here is wife photo.

They look pretty similar from that angle, maybe nose is little different.

what could be the truth here?

Authorities had previously said Dzhokhar exchanged gunfire with them for more than an hour Friday night before they captured him inside a boat covered by a tarp in a suburban Boston neighborhood backyard. But two U.S. officials said Wednesday that he was unarmed when captured, raising questions about the gunfire and how he was injured.

^ Additionally, they NEGOTIATED with Dzhokhar. I clearly remember CNN even reporting the name + picture of the officer who negotiated with Dzhokhar to come out.

Now, negotiation clearly means a dialogue. If he was shot in the throat (or shot himself) how the hell...
(i) did he negotiate?
(ii) come out and stand on the boat ledge (the picture of him standing on the boat with all the lights on him)

Clearly something happened after his arrest.

Brilliant comment.

A tragic and galling story.

They should do a Hosni Mubarak and wheel him into court in a stretcher.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is going to be defended in court by an all-star defense team, all paid for by the US taxpayer.

Even though many people may believe Dzhokhar Tsarneav is guilty of the Boston Marathon bombings, he is still going to get his day in court.

Federal prosecutors have charged Tsarneav with one count of using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction resulting in death, and one count of malicious destruction of property with an explosive device resulting in death.

If convicted, Tsarneav could be sentenced to death via lethal injection, or life in prison.

Court documents filed Monday say three federal public defenders are assigned to represent the Boston bombing suspect. They are Miriam Conrad, William Fick and Timothy Watkins.

The website for the Federal Public Defender's office for the districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island lists Miriam Conrad as the head federal public defender for the office. William Fick and Timothy Watkins are listed on the website as assistant federal public defenders.

"We represent individuals who cannot afford to hire a lawyer in federal criminal cases and related matters. We are assigned to cases by the district courts in the three districts that we serve, and by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Requests for counsel should be made directly to the appropriate court," the Federal Public Defender's website states.

It is not clear who will take the leadership role with Tsarneav's defense, but Fick was present at his bedside Monday when he was charged in the hospital.

Fick's LinkedIn.com profile says he received a bachelor of arts in Russian from Yale University and also attended Yale Law School. The profile also says he has full professional proficiency in the Russian language. His ability to speak Russian may help him with representing Tsarneav because of the suspect's ties to the region.

Fick's bio on the Yale University website says he has "handled and continues to handle federal drug cases where the evidence was tested at the state lab as well as cases where enhanced federal sentences were based on prior state drug convictions where the lab is implicated."

Conrad has handled high-profile cases in the past. She represented Richard Reid, the infamous "shoe bomber." She also represented Rezwan Ferdaus, who pleaded guilty in 2012 to charges of plotting to attack the Pentagon and Capitol Building with remote-controlled model airplanes carrying C-4 explosives.

Conrad's profile on Martindale.com says she received her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University and her legal education from Harvard University.

"Miriam Conrad has been the Federal Public Defender for the Districts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island since 2005. She joined the Federal Public Defender Office in 1992 as an Assistant Federal Public Defender, and was a trial attorney for the Committee for Public Counsel Services (the state public defender’s office) from 1988 to 1992. In 2001, she received the Boston Bar Association’s John G. Brooks Award for representation of indigent clients. After graduating from Harvard Law School, she clerked for the Hon. Rya W. Zobel, of the U.S. District Court in Boston, MA," says Conrad's profile on the Federal courts website.

Watkins profile on the Massachusetts state court website says he has served as an Assistant Federal Defender for the District of Massachusetts since 1999.

"Previously, he was a staff attorney for the Public Counsel Division of the Committee for Public Counsel Services for five years. He is a member of the Executive Board of Directors of Massachusetts Citizens Against the Death Penalty, the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Watkins holds a J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music," the Massachusetts court website says.

And as of today, a federal judge appointed a death penalty expert (as in expert in getting death penalty sentences commuted to life sentences) to Tsarnaev's legal team.

A federal magistrate judge has appointed a prominent specialist in federal death penalty cases to join the defense team of alleged Boston Marathon terror bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Judy Clarke, a San Diego, Calif., attorney, has the “background, knowledge and experience” that will “enable her to provide adequate representation to the defendant,” US Magistrate Judge Marianne Bowler said in a ruling today.

Clarke’s clients have included Unabomber Ted Kaczynski; Susan Smith, who drowned her two children; and most recently Tucson, Ariz., shooter Jared Loughner. All received life sentences instead of the death penalty, The Associated Press reported.

Well, thousands of American teenage girls think "Jahar" (Dzhokhar) Tsarnaev is innocent. Why? Cuz he's a hottie. Snippets below as well as full link to article.

k-bigpic.gif

Up until last week, "One Direction Infection," a Tumblr blog created and maintained by an eighth grader we'll call Claire, looked like any other 14-year-old's Tumblr: a bright pink background, a default font that resembles cute handwriting, an embedded MP3 player playing Daddy Yankee and Jesse McCartney, and scores of photographs and animated GIFs of the members of One Direction, Britain's biggest boy band.

It still looks like that, mostly—same background, same font, same Justin Timberlake song on the music player—but over the weekend Claire's subject matter took a sharp turn. In place of candid shots of Harry Styles and Zayn Malik, there are now photos of accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev; instead of inspirational image macros, there are annotated crime scene photos. The precocious, self-concious tone remains, and when you visit your browser still reads "One Direction Infection," but the blog has a new URL: http://free-jahar.tumblr.com.

"Jahar" is what Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's friends and Twitter followers call him, and #FreeJahar is the hashtag banner around which thousands of people have rallied on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook to closely follow Tsarnaev's case and share what they believe to be evidence of his innocence. I tracked Claire down (through her One Direction fan fiction page) and, over Twitter direct messages, asked her about her Tumblr. "I do believe he is very cute, but that’s not the reason I am personally involved in this movement," she emailed me back. "I am in this because I don’t believe its right to put a totally innocent person in jail for the rest of his/her life or even death penalty. I don’t care who it is, it just isn’t fair."

Like the "Holmies" and "Columbiners" devoted to the Aurora, Colo. and Columbine High School shoters, respectively, #FreeJahar has its roots in "fandom" culture—those devoted communities of admirers, usually young women, that organize themselves on sites like Tumblr, exchanging photographs, fan art and writing, and expressions of "the feels," a near-undefinable flood of emotion and desire. (Rachel Monroe wrote a fantastic essay on the topic last year.) But it's been combined with the conspiratorial rhetoric of sites like Infowars or Natural News, and informed by viral "issue" campaigns like Kony 2012. The result is a strange hybrid phenomenon—part conspiracy-mongering, part gushing fandom, part political movement, part self-promotional tool, structured by social media, populated almost entirely by teenagers and stubbornly resistant to argument.

~snip~

But #FreeJahar resists describing itself as a "fandom." Because #FreeJahar is mostly young and largely female, its habitués struggle with the perception that their interest in the Tsarnaev's case is mostly about Tsarnaev himself. "i’ve noticed the only thing the haters can say is: all the people on this tag are young horny girls [and] we are only defending Jahar because he’s good looking," one blogger wrote. (The fact that dedicated #FreeJahar blogs routinely reblog posts calling Tsarnaev "the world[']s hottest terrorist" or collecting tweets about Tsarnaev's good looks doesn't help.) Claire isn't the only one who thinks Tsarnaev is cute, but says she would support him in any case:

Aware of the mocking (and sometimes shocked) coverage of "Holmies," the James Holmes fandom that emerged in the wake of the shooting last year, #FreeJahar regulars are self-conscious about the fangirl label. (With the exception of Claire, every blogger I contacted refused to answer questions, or didn't respond to requests for comment.) Claire doesn't even think #FreeJahar is a fandom. "TV/Music fandoms are more into how a person looks or how well they sing/act," she explains, while #FreeJahar "is something more serious and more in-depth than that. It also helps solves 'political' acts where as a fandom does nothing like that." Rather than structure themselves around a communal identity, like "Holmies" or "Columbiners," #FreeJahar adherents convoke around a hashtag—like #Kony2012. In other words: it's not a fandom, it's a movement.

And as a movement, it needs convictions. Where in the case of the shooting in Aurora, the conspiracy theorists (and there were many) and the Holmies largely kept to their own corners of the web, #FreeJahar is a marriage of the two. It may draw heavily on fandom culture, but it relies just as much on the skepticism and paranoia of sites like Prison Planet and Godlike Productions, not to mention their rhetorical techniques—the annotated images, the dramatically narrated YouTube videos, the willingness to embrace even mutually contradictory pieces of evidence.

The only thing surprising about the collision of the worlds of conspiracy and fandom is that it's taken this long to happen. They're both mostly populated with teenagers and 20somethings. Young people like Claire (and like Tamerlan Tsarnaev) drive an enormous online conspiracy economy; they're the ones speculating about which rap stars are Illuminati members on message boards and creating and sharing dramatic YouTube videos that end up with 13 million views. Claire told me the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings were her entry into the world of conspiracies: "I thought it was a big tragedy until I watched a video of the conspiracy being explained and ever since I have strong feelings about it being staged."

^^Stupid article. That's how the media works. Giving attention to some loser wannabes who support the conspiracy due to Jahar's so called cuteness and completely refuting the people who have strong belief in doing so.
Also, I'm taking it as a cheap shot at the females. Being a female means I automatically have a crush on Dzhokhar and all my arguments are not credible? Sexism at its finest.

And I'm not sure why my post was deleted. I asked a very simple question. What's the groundbreaking, IRREFUTABLE evidence that makes you guys believe that these boys have done it? The CNN and the Fox that show you everything except the proof and only circumstantial evidence? Cool. The same news channels and websites that post articles about Tsarnaev's Instagram, his apparent girlfriend, and some exclusive news they dug up from his personal life to keep the viewer ratings? Alright.

They keep changing stories, their most concrete proof is in unreliable witnesses who also keep changing stories, they lied about the 7/11 robbery, their only proof is the boys walking around in backpacks, which about a couple of other suspicious people were also photographed wearing. Those other men were in similar outfits, had similar bags which vanished two minutes after the bombings. K thanks.

I'm not saying these guys are TRULY innocent. That cannot be proved. You can only prove someone not guilty or guilty. But the way the media has been treating these suspects is awful, the disgusting responses in the comments and by TV reports are in bad taste. And let me tell you, they are not just outwardly offensive to suspects' family, but also the whole Muslim community. I've seen dozens of people demanding Muslims to apologize for all atrocities committed by Muslims in the world, throwing around the word Jihad in contempt.. and expressing their hatred for Muslims?

Also the way they are treating the suspects, what makes them worse than James Holmes and Adam Lanza? Or the Oklahoma city bomber? Why does everyone call it the worst terrorist attack since 9/11? Or do the countless school and theater shooters don't count?
Yeah you know the answer..religious beliefs of the perpetrators.

Why does everyone call it the worst terrorist attack since 9/11? Or do the countless school and theater shooters don't count?
Yeah you know the answer..religious beliefs of the perpetrators.

They were calling it a terrorist attack well before they identified these 2 as suspects. Around that time, many people believed that this maybe the work of some crazy right-winger ultra-nationalist.
What makes it different from columbine or colorado? Well the use of bombs for one. I know that guns are deadly and the death toll would have been higher if the Tsarnevs had used a rifle and fired indiscriminately. Making bombs, planting them, detonating them remotely all makes this more cold and calculated and more identifiable with terrorist modus operandi all over the world( including Pakistan foe example)

I guess the best thing is that Jahar actually lived and will be heard in court. There will be no more ambiguity then. Unless of course he is a really a CIA plant or an alien from outer space.

Death sentence for Boston jihadist

A federal jury sentenced Dzhokhar Tsarnaev to death Friday for his part in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that left three people dead, and for the murder of an MIT police officer as he and his brother attempted their getaway.

051515_ssr_sentence_640.jpg

Tsarnaev showed no emotion as he learned his fate and stood with his hands clasped in front of him, his head slightly bowed. He faces death by lethal injection.

"My mother and I think think that now he will go away and we will be able to move on," said victtim Sydney Corcoran after the verdict. "Justice. In his own words, 'an eye for an eye.'"

Corcoran nearly bled to death and her mother lost both legs.

The 21-year-old faced the death penalty or life in prison for his role in the April 15, 2013 attack in which two pressure-cooker bombs were detonated near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

It remains to be seen how quickly his execution will take place. It took authorities four years to execute Oklahoma bomber Timothy McVeigh after his appeals were exhausted. A jury sentenced McVeigh to death in 1997. He was executed in 2001.

As a crowd gathered in front of the federal courthouse in downtown Boston, the jury went through its lengthy and complicated verdict form.

The jurors agreed with prosecutors on 11 of the 12 aggravating factors they cited and found the former college student's role in the bombing was "heinous, cruel and depraved" on eight counts.

The jury agreed with the prosecution that the bombing constituted an act of terrorism involving substantial planning and premeditation on Tsarnaev's part.

The panel also ruled as an aggravating factor the death of 8-year-old Martin Richard, the youngest victim of the bombing. The boy had gone to the marathon with his family.

As the jury announced Tsarnaev showed no remorse for what he did, he slowly rocked back and forth between his two lawyers.

tsarnaev-middle-finger.jpg

The defense asked the jury to weigh more than 20 mitigating factors in pleading that he be spared death.

But only three jurors found that Tsarnaev was under the control of his older brother, Tamerlan.

The jury reached a decision in the penalty phase of the death penalty trial after 14 hours of deliberations over three days.

Tsarnaev was convicted last month of all 30 federal charges against him, 17 of which carried the possibility of the death penalty.

The 2013 bombing killed three people and injured more than 260 others. Tsarnaev was also convicted of killing a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer days later during a massive police manhunt for him and his brother.

If he was a normal American kid like the kid who did the columbine massacre or any other of those high school rejects would he have been given as much coverage

I doubt it

It would be easy to say the chickens have come home to roost in terms of American imperial policy but the truth is these were two normal American teenagers who followed the same path as their outcast peers

After that scumbag got death sentence, his mother announced, "They think that they are killing us and they celebrate this, but we are the ones who will rejoice when Allah grants us the chance to behold them in the flames of an eternal and terrifying fire, an otherworldly flame.” Indeed apple does not fall far from the tree. Your POS sons took 4 people's lives including a child's.

prolly just an emotional rant of a mother who just cant accept what happened.

still put the blame on his brother though. he's the one who was behind all this

kid ofcourse needs to be punished for the crime which is being done.

i wish theyd taken the elder brother alive

Are you serious? Those killers were in the news for years, with every detail of their life looked into, to the extent they were even talking of banning certain video games they played

How about the Waco shootout
Zero coverage

Or does white on white violence not matter

Do you live in the US? Been all over the news where I'm looking. Huge front cover feature on CNN just now.

Iv seen all the suspects
Just lads having fun on their bikes really

No real terror alert or dodgy looking chechnyans involved save for the Mexicans

all get a lot of media attention

secondly the psychos who do the shootings normally are actual psychos and don't back their talk by religion or say its a 'revenge' on Americans etc.

so cant compare this to that

but yeah they also get a lot of coverage

Have you heard of Robert doggart?

Have you heard of Robert doggart?

yes I follow the news. And you are right its not wall to wall coverage

but that's because the plan didn't materialize and was nipped in the bud. if sth happened there would have been a lot of media attention like in the chapel hill shootings

also he is likely to go in jail soon

also he was caught before he could do anything by the FBI (abt whom there are so many conspiracy theiroes that they are out to get muslims.)

Scares me that an ex congressman candidate nearly got away with it

Also Timothy mcveigh is held in far higher regard than obl

It must come from the Thomas Jefferson quote
'The tree of liberty much be refreshed from time to time with the blood of Patriots and tyrants'

A US appeals court has overturned the death sentence given to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev for the deadly bombing attack at the 2013 Boston Marathon.

Three people were killed and more than 260 injured when two bombs planted by Tsarnaev and his brother exploded at the finish line.

The court said Tsarnaev would spend the rest of his days in prison.

However, it ordered a retrial over the sentence for the crimes, which can carry the death penalty.

In its ruling, the court said the trial judge had failed to exclude jurors who had already concluded that Tsarnaev was guilty.

Profile: Who is Dzhokhar Tsarnaev?

Tsarnaev and his elder brother Tamerlan, both Kyrgyz-American nationals of Chechen descent, planted bombs close to the finish line of the Boston Marathon on 15 April 2013.

Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police three days later.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev fled the shootout and was captured a day later, after being found hiding in a boat in the backyard of a house in Watertown - a suburb of Boston.

Trump says federal government should again seek death penalty for Boston bomber Tsarnaev

President Donald Trump said Sunday that the federal government should again seek the death penalty for Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

In a tweet, Trump said the federal government must challenge a Friday appeals court decision overturning the death penalty for the 2013 attack.

“Rarely has anybody deserved the death penalty more than the Boston Bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev,” tweeted Trump. “The Federal Government must again seek the Death Penalty in a do-over of that chapter of the original trial.”

A three-judge panel of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld much of Tsarnaev’s conviction Friday but ordered a new trial over what sentence Tsarnaev should receive for the death penalty-eligible crimes he was convicted of.

The federal governemnt is reviewing the ruling. Prosecutors could ask the full appeals court to reconsider or appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Tsarnaev and his older brother, Tamerlan, set off a pair of homemade pressure-cooker bombs near the finish line of the world-renowned race in 2013, tearing through the packed crowd, killing three people and wounding more than 260 others.

Tsarnaev admitted to his crimes after his conviction in 2015, and apologized to the victims.

Do you live in a cave or something!!! Waco is probably the most covered event after the Oklahoma bombing and is used as a case-study in law enforcement of what not to do

I am surprised Tsarnaev survived the shootout with the police during that heinous act. His death penalty shouldn't have been converted
