What's new

Breaking Bad [SPOILER ALERT]

It's out in netflix, online... started watching this weekend and got hooked pretty much. One annoying part is when is the baby coming out?? :asif

Watched Sunday's episode. I don't know guys, for some reason, I am not liking this Season so far.

Aaahhhh! I am a blasphemy for saying this, I know, but I just had to put the truth out there :6:

What to do?

I just can't understand some of the motives in the story, that's all. I think that's why this show is a bit disappointing at the moment, for me anyways.

Enjoyed the show so far. Started off a bit slow but has gradually got better. This has to be my favourite scene so far :)))

Jesse in that last ep was awesome, I hope we've seen the last of his crackheadedness. I dunno know what Gus will do now that he has a bunch of chemists who know the formula but iirc Gale mentions that Walt can achieve 99% purity. Jesse and the chemists got ~97%.

******* Spoiler Alert *******

I take back what I said about not liking this season so far, @ meself.

Man, that last episode was off the hook. Also, Jesse does not hesitate to kill the Cartel goons with his gun, but has issues with killing Gus :23:

Also, I cried when Walter was crying and when he called Junior, Jesse :( :(. Yeah, I know you were bawling too, don't deny it.

I wish I had an aunt named Burkis (at least I think it was Burkis).

Skyler is not annoying anymore, yay!

^ Oh man your ruined it for me, I am not up to season 4, just finished season 3, I can't stand Skyler, such an annoying and boring character.

Skylar's more annoying then usual since now she's getting in Walt's way AND potentially ruining their whole set up.

lol, and Jesse had a rush of adrenaline.. he had to kill the cartel guy. He shot Mike and was going to kill him too, it's a different situation then killing Gus. Gus made it clear he didn't want to kill Jesse.

This season has been great since the start - don't know why a lot of people complained early on. Even when nothing was happening, something was happening. Character development is like that.

Actually she has been quite sensible when it comes to the money laundering aspect, on the money BUT she is annoying as hell, really lets down what is a brilliant acting cast

I think Walter needs an upgrade, he has the money so he could comfortably do better than Skyler, Walter the Playa :yk

lol I was talking about (spoiler alert for all you late ass chumps) the fact she told Beneke about the money. The fact she gave him the money was bad enough, worse then buying Walt Jr. the car. Telling him it was from her was like a nail in the coffin.

Oh btw, has no one mentioned the speech Walt gave about his father? First time he's ever mentioned his father and gives you a lot of insight into why Walt reacted to cancer as he did.

Ah right. I think she did that out of desperation, it is just as important for her to have him pay the IRS otherwise they will investigate her so she needs to convince him to pay them and close the matter. Obviously it is a risky move as he will want to know where she got the money from etc etc

I believe they are setting up Beneke to be an a$$hole who will take advantage of Skylar's situation. This will only mean that Saul might resort to Mike or some other henchman to take care of Beneke.

Mike isn't Saul's henchman lol. But yeah, preview for the next episode shows Beneke leaving Skylar a message saying "no to the thing we talked about" and she looks disappointed. Could be something else, but yeah.

Skylar created this mess for her self though. She stepped outside her marriage and now she pays the price, just like Walt faces/faced consequences for his actions.

Have you guys seen Saul's ads on youtube, they're hilarious!! Its a sarcastic but real view of the present American legal system!!

On the topic of Mike, he might just die next episode. His wound looked pretty serious.

Best thing about this show is I have absolutely no idea whats going to happen next. Walt hasn't even been the main focus for the past few episodes!

The first few episodes of the season were only boring/annoying because there was so much Skyler in them. As soon as she started having less time on air, the episodes seemed much more exciting.

The final episodes should be brilliant the way the season is going.

Mike better not die , he is the "superman" of the show. The ultimate fixer.Just a hunch but at some point in the show i see Walt taking over Gus's place and running the whole place.Feel bad for Walt's DEA BIL though .He is such an awesome guy but he'll die eventually .

Hank die? Lol.. unlikely. He'll be the guy to bring down Walt, if anything.

either that of he dies. One of them too .Do you see Walt's taking over gus's empire?. Walt in turning into a selfish a hole too .I think that they are doing it on purpose.Gus is a mastermind but so is Walt .doonoon aik doosree ko sahi takrayee .

That's what I thought would happen but it seems unlikely. The whole point of this season thus far has been to show how little and unimportant Walt really is in the grand scheme of things.

His decisions have large consequences, i.e. killing Tucho, but he himself is no one. With the Cartel dead I can't see Walt trumping Gus just yet, especially now that he's lost Jesse pretty much. Walt's been reckless and everything far from a mastermind so far. That being said, it could all easily change in the next three episodes.

I believe Gus will be caught. His attempt at Hank's life is reckless and now after the tip off will be a failure. Although this doesn't mean that it will be the end of Gus he wont be in a position to run his operations without attention anymore. Pinkman will be the new man at helm assisted by Mike.

Cant wait for next week and put my prediction powers to test!!

Still maintain Hank won't die, it's a possibility but I doubt it.

Great episode last night. The final scene has got to be one of the most intense and emotional ones thus far. Next episode is where the big moves should happen, in the preview you see Walt toying with little explosives (?) and the gun he bought earlier. There's also the poison cigarette that Jesse had. One of these is going to come into play.

All in all though I think it'll be time for Jesse to save the day. This season has been all about his redemption. The scene with Walt bothering him outside his house was pretty much an inverse of their relationship. Usually it's Jesse who would be interrupting Walt and his family. Usually it's Walt who saves Jesse, too.

****Spoiler Alert****

I thought the very last scene, where the camera slowly pans out, it foreshadows Walt's death (it looked like Walt was in a coffin). I always thought he would die but still, this little scene and with Breaking Bad's reputation for having elements of foreshadow, this makes it more real for me I guess.

Excellent episode. I cried when Walt cried (don't worry, I didn't laugh like a manic after though). Great actor that Cranston . Also, when Skyler says she gave the money away to Ted out of all the people and then what follows after, :( :(

Oh and Huell might be my new favorite character :))

What did you guys think about Gus' trip to Uncle Tio's nursing home, where he calls out Jesse? And when Gus says he will kill Walt's family, including the baby? I always thought Gus was more humane or a 'family-man' type of guy, just because of his vibe. Guess not? It's hard to imagine him as a purely 'bad' guy.

Gus killed a teenage boy last season. The shows been showing us another side of Gus recently, to understand his motives, but he's downright ****ing evil. He wanted to off Jesse and Walt for killing two lowly drug dealers. He tortures Tio every time he kills one of his family members/cartel brothers. He killed Victor in cold blood.

Hector (Tio) was actually kind of sympathetic this season. I think he might play a big part later on, don't see why they wouldn't bring him in.

Everything to Gus is about business. He can be as cruel as he wants and as nice as he wants based on what the business needs.

Wow, that episode was amazing. Forget Breaking Bad, one of my favorite episodes on TV ever.

A person trying to hide from death has to be lucky all the time, a person trying to kill someone has to be lucky just once. !

I think Hector and Walt may just team up. Gus told Walt to leave, but then threatened his family and his Bro-in-law. At the end of the day, Walt is all about his family regardless of his deeds. Also, the next episode summary says that Walt finds an unexpected ally, who else could it be?

mike maybe?

I found the latest episode to be gripping, hilarious (the 'act of God' - lol) and harrowing all at the same time - now that's good telly.

Started this last thursday and now I'm up to season 4 episode 4 :)).

LOL that's like me, started less than 2 weeks ago, already caught up. Would watch 3 episodes a day at work haha and about 2-3 at home (on days I was free)

Yep, and I've just seen last week's episode, so caught up :) Not a bad time to catch up as well, probably the most intense ending in the whole series.

Also, the next episode is the first episode in the current series that Vince Gilligan directed.

The twitch of his finger seems to be making people doubt it. I think he's dead.

Also, apparently the oranges in that scene symbolize death and it's some sort of homage to The Godfather. So yeah.

^
I see his death as giving the much needed comic relief tbh. Well, I found his mode of dying funny at least. Funny and sudden. But yeah, it probably is a cop-out. :))

How is it a cop out? His storyline was done the minute he signed the check. All he could've done was snitch Skylar out but thats implausible and can still happen now that he's dead. He was a dick and the writers gave the fans at least one dead douchebag. I thought it was hilarious lol

They were setting up a very enticing story-line.

Ted was a douche-bag who was trying to blackmail Skylar. Sure, he signed the check but he knew something shady was up with their gambling. He could have continued to blackmail and they were hinting at a storyline where Skylar's no violence stand comes into play.

But instead they just had him fall down and die.

Things keep getting intense! But its all going to boil down to next week's episode. But the question that arises from this episode is, who poisoned Brock?

I think Walt did it. Because when he was spinning the gun, it pointed towards the plant (symbolism?). Might have given him the idea of the ricen.

Nah, him dying in suspicious circumstances can bring more heat on Skylar and co. potentially.

Anyways, great episode again - thank God it had no insanely over the top moments like the last few episodes. The scene with Walt and Jesse was great, but no where on the level of the big moments of the last few episodes. And thats a good thing, next weeks episode is probably going to be amazing.

Check this from IGN about the poison:

[As an aside, look closely when Huell searches Jesse and what he does with his hands after the search. Saul is the only one that knows the connection between Jesse and Brock and would probably know (?) about the ricin cigarette. Saul wanted to see him immediately in this one, remember? He's also the only one that has something to gain from a head-on battle between Walt and Gus. Of course, the ambiguity is what makes it beautiful.]

Why does he not go to the car? How can he know?

Just read your post and wow, I never thought about it from that angle :O.

I still think it's Gus who poisoned Brock.

As for the ending, I don't think that Gus necessarily went back because he knew there was something planted in his car. I think he just had an after thought about Jesse and he's gone to meet him again. I could be wrong.

Either way, it has set up to be a great finale.

Yeah I highly doubt it was Saul too. Ambiguity is fun though.

I think either Gus saw the reflection from Walt's glasses or binoculars, because the camera does a close up on them at the end. Either that or yeah, he has an after thought about his conversation with Jesse. No way he saw the pipe bomb coming.

Wanted an update on Mike too, guess not for now.

I think he has enough experience with this kind of stuff to know when something is up.

Perhaps something from his shady past that we don't know about?

I do think that he saw Walt.

I'm probably going to miss the finale tonight and check it tomorrow, so if anyone talks about it please use spoiler warnings. Thanks guise.

Well I live in UK so I'm going to watch it tomorrow anyway. Definitely not taking chances coming to this thread before I've seen it.

It's probably safe to not even open this thread until you watch it. No real point in doing it anyway.

Awesome Finale! I'm really interested in how they wrap up next season as it'll be the last one.

Highlight below for spoilers:

I had read this earlier in the week and thought it was possible. Pretty nice twist by the writers.

there is no way the kid will die. i read something, from someone who had read a theory on reddit, about the plant that the gun points to when walt spins it. apparently it could have given him an idea to use a plant, to make the kid ill with the same symptoms as ricine, but not in a lethal way. sadly, i don't have the reddit link.

Great episode, either I read lost_dimensions post wrong or the bit about Walt dying was completely false (thankfully).

Full spoilers ahead.

I saw a lot of that coming. On another forum someone posted the reddit spoiler thread with a picture of Gus's half blown off face. Now, I didn't click the thread or see the pictures but knowing they existed and b). Vince Gilligan saying the title "Face Off" was literal gave a lot away. I knew last episodes scene with the gun was hinting at something. The fact we didn't see Walt until near the end of it gave a lot more credibility to him poisoning Brock. I really couldn't think of Walt doing this earlier (see previous posts) but with some time, it dawned on me how desperate he was. You can also definitely see Huel stash something in his pocket once he frisk's Jesse. The gun scene was really about Walt's desperation - he saw the choice, either he dies, or someone else.

End spoilers.

Next season is gonna be a sad sad.

What a series!

Spoilers...

Throughout the episode I was still in denial thinking 'No, no he couldn't have done it. It must have been something/someone else'. But the last scene clears all doubts. It's kind of shocking but at the same time it's completely logical. Throughout the seasons (1, 2, 3 and 4), they've shown how even though Walt was a law abiding citizen and Jesse was 'bad' guy, in a way Walt is the one with the evil instincts and Jesse the 'innocent' one. When in desperation, Walt is willing to do/kill anything/anyone, whereas Jesse is hesitant to do so.

Also, I guess the Mike comeback predictions turned out to be false. Surely they can't just get rid of him like that and he'll make at least an appearance in season 5? I also think that it's good that there's only one more season. It would drag on after that (unless they went for world domination, which would just be silly).

Bring on season 5!

Good finale, nothing spectacular. I guess the previous two episodes were just too good to be bettered.

At the end of the day, a decent season. No complaints from me.

Just watched the finale, I loved it, thought it was awesome

****Spoiler Alert****

The final shot showing the plant was wow, I did not even consider that Walt would have poisoned the kid BUT it goes to show he will do anything to save himself. It certainly was a moment of genius from him

Next series will be the last BUT I wonder where the show will go from this, we still have not seen Mike return yet

The series overall was not as good as the 2nd or 3rd for me BUT some of the episodes and scenes were just phenomenal, brilliant TV

Bryan Cranston really is quality

lol wut. The 4th season was the best one yet IMO, the show gets progressively better each season. This one had the best moments, a bold Walt, and a redeemed Jesse. On dialogue and action alone, this season beats the rest.

I've got a feeling that the final season is just simply going to be Hank vs Walt, simple as that.

The highs of this season were better than any other, no doubt BUT I just feel overall as a series there were a few average moments which brings it down, still there is not a lot in it when you look at it with such detail

Just watched the finale, amazing!
Did Walt actually poison the kid ?

...anticlimax. Saw this thread had been bumped and was expecting an update for the 5th season start date.

lol. That's rough bro.

Before the finale came on, there were spoilers posted + a pic on a forum I check out. I had to fight so hard not to check it out, good thing too because they were all legit.

Craston and the show creator talked too much about the finale though. I figured out a lot of the stuff before the finale, still great. It's more about the build up then the actual events.

OK saw it up to the Hermanos episode so far, the meeting with Don Eladio (dude from Scarface!).

amazing season, love how they've introduced the mistrust between Walter and Jesse.

Brilliant ending, just amazing.

Of course Walt poisoned the kid!

Although I think they could have just ended the show on this note, no idea what they have in store next year.

Salamanca trolling the DEA :)))

That was awesome.

That was class, all part of Walt's genius plan

Just finished 4th season...Amazing ending!!!! Cant believe walt poisoned the kid..

I wonder what 5th season has in store...

Undoubtedly one of the best tv series ever....

Just watched all 4 seasons, amazing show.

"A few weeks before cameras roll on season 5. I cant wait. I love doing this show and will miss it when its time to say goodbye. Airs in July." Cranston, March 4

Can't wait :akhtar

Finished watching season 3 and season 4. It really is a great series :farhat
