At various stages I have come across this Great Sufi Poet...

they all have something in it, you can share your favourite poems of baba bulleh shah, here is my best one

what do you mean, am i sufi?

i only have interest in the work sufism have done...not related to a particular group, but if you are asking if i have any links to sufism, then yes i do respect all of them.

No bhai, i was just wondering whether you were because i do not know their belifes and i wanted to know whether they differ in any way from a sunni or shia for example.

I did not mean any offence bhai, after all we are all residents of Lala Land :afridi

no not differ, they are part of Ahle sunnah wal jamat...

its just alot more motivaton to do something...especially the poetry :afridi

Sufis are the people who love Mankind and just not only Muslims.. The only lesson you will find in Sufi Poetry is peace and love.

big fan of baba bulleh shah, and some of the musicians you have posted.

in some disciplines pakistani art is quite unparalled, sufi music and lyricism being one of them, its developed to a level where few other genres could compete.

its timeless, and will probably still be around hundreds of years from now.

it makes me feel fortunate i can understand urdu/punjabi to some level. some languages are made to convey certain emotions, urdu/punjabi fits this style of poetry to a tee.

Guys I am also a big fan of poetry and the Arifana kalam of the sufis even more. www.apnaorg.com is a great cultural site for punjabi sufi kalam both in audio and written form. [Mods I am not spamming for any gain nor am I affiliated to this site in anyway]

One of my regret of life is my poor language skills and hence i am missing some quality stuff especially poetry.

Urdu 7.5/10
English 6.5/10
Punjabi 3/10
Pushtu 1/10

Rest 0/10

Living in Islamabad i can understand basic Punjabi and can speak a little but dont understand Punjabi poetry and Bulleh Shahs poetry most of the time. What a letdown :(

I dont think there is any other thing jis sai apka dimaagh itna khulta hai jitna poetry sai khulta hai. Wish i could understand Bulleh Shah and others.
 
Bullehya tun aashaq hoyon rab da, tenon hoi malamat lakh.....
Tenon kafar kafar aakhan loki, to aaho aaho aakh.....
