My CA batting kit bought from the CA shop in Faisalabad by a relative arrived today (in the Kutchary Bazaar)... give a brief comment on what i think of the equipment after a games use...

Bat...

-10 grains
-sapwood on the edge of the bat
-Lowish middle (not ideal for me but got used to it in the game)
-35 mm edges
-2.9 SH

The bat went like a dream, been using English and Indian bats before this one with slightly higher sweet spots (Gray Nicolls Xiphos Pro Performance and MRF Wizard) and so at that time i liked to pull and hook the ball....after a couple of deliveries from the bowler the bat really came in to its own, small pushes down the groud would find its way to the rope, if I have to mention one disapointment i felt that when i bought it that the 10000 would be a grade 1 piece of wood, im not sure and id like to ask Uzair's help on this is this piece of willow Grade 1. tbh though i dont mind cos it goes like a dream...

Gloves...
-LH
-Pittard Palm
-Great Protection
-Velcro is a bit iffy, does not stay on all the time :(

Good gloves however can see the velcro annoying me in the future ...
Got hit in the gloves in the match didnt feel uch which is good, reached my expectations of good gloves, first pair of high quality gloves...

Pads...

In my opinion, these pads are brilliant, super light, decent protection,
there made from EVA foam which means that they are pretty light, they mold nicely to fit nicely with the player. Overall really happy with the pads...

Good review man; just a couple of points--- Xiphos has quite a low middle I would say. Also I don't think 10000 has too much of a lowish sweet spot. Or maybe the two bats I have are aberrations?

Everything looks great!

Few questions, can you post picture of bat from side (showing the profile) and of gloves from back, palm view etc.

The bat looks good and if you are right hand batsman it would be better as it has heartwood on outer edge. Usually they say that a Grade 1 bat does not have heart wood meaning any bat that has heart wood is not considered as Grade 1. However, I have Salix which is also graded as Grade 1 and has a heartwood, so it depends as every company grades their bats differently.

Did you oil your bat as well or no?

I agree with you, CA gloves don't have a great velcro strap even with my CA 12000 Plus gloves they don't stick very well! The best velcro strap in Pakistan is on Ihsan's gloves for me.

Also if don't mind can you tell me price you paid for the bat and gloves and the pads?

Thanks1

sure will do, lightly oiled will do a bit more....in total i paid 14500 Pakistani Rupees for the bat, pads and gloves..

Man, where did you get this bargain from? I am sure everyone wants to know.......

The gloves look lovely not too sure if this is same as 'Indian Pittards' we have seen

Is this the 2012 equipment? Looks very nice...

My parents are going to Pakistan soon and I was hoping to get some softs and a bat. But the CA site has not been updated with 2012 equipment. I'd prefer to give then pics and what to ask for.

Your gloves look Identical to the 2011 T.R.D gloves except in 2011, where they're black, they were white and vice versa. Or is that just because you're left handed?

Yep this kit is 2011 kit as far as i know, i am left handed which might be the reason why...

I have a pair of the Plus 10000 pads and I didn't really like them tbh, not enough movement, bit hard to get used to and they don't flex ... at all.

Love those pads can you share more photographs and is it possible to know how much you paid for them ???

I think the feel and running would be nice in them ??
