I have no intention of defeating anyone.
I speak what I like to speak. Some consider me pessimist, most negative. I daresay I've been called an Indian a few times.
I find being hated on amusing.
Which is why I resort to usual insults.
If you can keep your temper in a see-saw match, you have a chance of being entertained.
At the end of the day, whether you watch NGC or CBS or HBO, the point is entertainment.
Oh and welcome to Pakpassion, and I hope you enjoy your stay here
You confuse what I am saying.
I hope the more astute individuals spend less time indulging in those who probably won't understand the banter between you and I, and more time on actually critically analyzing Pakistan cricket.
I believe you have me mistaken in terms of having high hopes for this team and it's players. We are a mediocre side but this is nothing new for the older generation of fans.
People live in nostalgia and act as though this team is vastly weaker than teams of the past, and/or we are a dying nation, yet complete forget the fiasco that was the 2000s.
I have no idea what tomorrow holds, but if individuals believes our bowling stocks died now, then those who were probably still below the age of ten who fortunately or unfortunately, as you may see it, have no idea. When Sami, Rao and Gul took the field I simply smacked my head against a wall. Thankfully Mo Asif and Amir came along (cricket talent wise, let's not get into a jostle of what our personal stances on them are) and I just realized Pakistan cricket is a circus.
One day up, one day down, one day losing to the 12th in the world ranked Ireland, one day beating SA in SA, one day losing a test to Zimbabwe.
We are a pretty poor team right now, there is no denying that, but to believe it's over is premature. Let's enjoy the ride. I know I have stopped having expectations of a real cricket team and more so now of being entertained either by greatness or simply comedic gold.
Remember Umar Akmal and Amin who could not score 15 runs to win a match against SA.
It is fun being a fan of Pakistan. You can forever claim to be on the fun side.
Making a positive or negative prediction makes no difference.
With the PCB as currently structured, this will be a continuous cycle. Talent in, turn into selfie machine, follow Afridi mould, turn from a cricketer to a slogger, never perform yet get a Class A contract, hear rambling from ex players of a 92' WC about heroes, despite the fact that had it not been for nature and rain, we would have been the most disappointing team and the real chokers in cricketing history.
Ah but I ramble.
Babar Azam is a good player, good technique, solid affinity for runs, can be a very good one for the future. We should have slowly eased him in in the past year but as usual, poor planning has led to this debacle of playing every match with 2 men down with 2 players who do not deserve a spot on any side in the world, having Afridi influence players left and right with his idiocy, and of course beautiful planning with the fact that we picked a squad minutes before the India match, not months before like every other team.
Books of fiction could be written on this team that would not be as funny as the actual real world truth.
