what you should be looking for are 2-3 players who can regularly be relied on to score 40- 50 off 20-30 balls when the moment demands, batting around brisk accumulators with averages in the 40-50s.

was running well between the wickets , didnt lose power in his shots during the whole innings of 117. In the heat he didnt seem be short of stamina or fitness. He will do just fine.

lets go part by part, since PP's love for mixing formats and numbers to make a point.
- a batsman who has played 50 matches mostly at number 5 according to you (because there is no conclusive proof of that) is supposed to be the best thing for Pakistan cricket since sliced bread, but is not good enough at domestic level to score centuries.
- "he is a better test player" is grammatically wrong you mean to say "he could be (I wish/I hope/I pray fervently) a better (not sure who we are comparing with, but what the hell, lets go with generic hype) player" : because he is yet to play any test matches.

If you think his inclusion is going to change our fortunes, then I admire your optimism.
As we have debated elsewhere a batting line up with hafeez, Malik, Sarfaraz, Babar (to a much lesser extent), Akmal/shehzad can't be counter balanced by any inclusion.

Sadly Sohail's career is now done, the CT could have been his swansong, thankfully we didnt need him.

Now with his age and fitness issues I dont think he is worth it, better to invest in others
