Can Hasan Ali maintain his #1 spot in the ODI bowlers' rankings?

This height caught up with him is the biggest non sense. His main issue is that he for some odd reason started bowling short lengths. His strong point was the fuller length. Its a mistery why he stopped doing that.

Even today the moment he pitches it up he gets something to happen. But the next ball he goes back short!

He is young and I am sure he will bounce back but he needs to sort out his bowling plans. Somebody show him videos of how he used to take wickets when he actually attacked the stumps.

To solve the problems of Pakistan cricket,
I think there should be research carried out by inviting the country’s leading academics on human psychology and sports science - study the short career
of Hassan Ali and try to work out what went wrong and what are the reasons behind a sportsman declining so rapidly in such a short period of time to go from No. 1 to arguably the worst fast bowler playing international cricket - was it physical?, did he change his fitness routines or bowling action/run up, was it due to psychological reasons where the pressure got to him and he started suffering from extreme performance anxiety or fear of failure ? Or were these factors combined with complacency and a lack of commitment ?

There should be some lessons learnt from this case - and incorporated into PCBs future plan of improvement to ensure players get the support they need if it’s psychological and likewise the players focus on their fitness and other expectations as professional sportsmen and these terms should be in their contract ideally.

His downfall started after his antics on Wagah and making statements like I will take 10 wkts against India..he needs to sort his head.. break will be good for him

Hasan Ali's main weapon was attacking the stumps when he burst on the scene. Most of his wickets were lbw or bowled. He has an action similar to Steyn, very uncomplicated and runs in hard and good pace. Everything was working for him.

It is considerably disheartening to see what has happened now.

You are spot on. Even Shaheen is bowling useless short of length deliveries, hence failing.

Another one in a long line of pakistani fast bowlers who came in with a lot of promise, started with a bang and then faded away. This post 2000 problem in the pakistani bowling department has not been rectified.

One of the reasons being the fact that neither fans and may be nor the administrators acknowledge there is a problem.

Agree with your observation. Pakistani bowlers have caught disease of Indian fast bowlers of 90s and 2000s

And it’s not just happening with bowlers. It has happened with batters too like Umar Akmal, Shehzad, Nasir jamshed, Yasir hameed etc

Can't think of too many players who have gone downhill so fast.

Stardom can do funny things to some boys.

Did stardom get to his head? I mean you often get to hang out with the players, you might know.

Hasan Ali lost zip in his bowling. I think he also feels insecure with the other good young bowlers in the team - Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Hasnain. Should not be long before he's booted out in favor of these young players.
