Well done Bangladesh!

Lets hope Pakistan invests in Saad, Ghori, Saad and Samad ...

Thanks.

Saad Masood and Maaz are very impressive. They should be nurtured well.

Ghori and Samad also have potentials.

Salman Ali Agha with a century and playing a hundred deliveries still could not hit a six for the team when it really mattered. Would any Indian batsman who played a hundred deliveries in contrast would struggle to hit big and accelerate at the end?

Good ending to the series, and good century by Tanzid and brother Salman Agha. Pakistan with few new faces, but they are still a top tier team in ODIs. Glad our boys got a chance to practice against Pak pace bowlers.

Maaz should be persisted with others need more time and experience in domestic...... At the moment they don't make it into the full Pakistani team likely Saim Fakhar Babar Hassan Ghulam will come back...... Rizwan needs to be replaced is now struggling as a batsman even in ODIS.

Bangladesh edge Pakistan again is an understatement.

Bangladesh violated Pakistan and had its way with Pakistan.

looking forward to World Cup qualifiers from here on out. That will give Pakistan players some much needed confidence and good competitive matches.

Rip Pakistan cricket

That's it

Don’t be harsh. Played a young team against a full bd side in Mirpur. Bd has excellent home record. They will learn alot, Maaz has learnt much, Agha has matured as a cricketer. Shaheed looks like a captain material for sure.

Lo, afghan pacers better than BD pacers? I want to smoke whatever you are, after iftar

These sanghis write out of their backsides. It is embarrassing at times. There is a reason why I do not generally respond to their stupidity. :inti

BD's current pacers are pretty good --> Taskin, Shoriful, Nahid Rana, Mustafiz, Hassan Mahmud, Ebadot.

These guys were nurtured under Courtney Walsh, Allan Donald, and now Shaun Tait.

Pakistan are #4 or #5 in ODI ranking. They should qualify directly.

It is likely one from West Indies or Bangladesh will have to play the qualifiers. As of now, BD are ahead of Windies.

Evil people.

BD need a major breakthrough in a tournament especially ODI to take Cricket to new height and gain more interests. I remember before 2007 WC win over IND, most BD fans would just browse Cricinfo and support other Cricket teams of their liking lol.

Cricket is the #1 sport in Bangladesh.

However, football is getting traction. Young people seem more interested in football. Maybe football will overtake cricket's popularity in 30-40 years. :inti

Cricket has been destroyed by the Indians. I miss pre-BCCICC days of cricket. Those were the golden days. :inti

I think batters who take their helmet off to celebrate their century/milestone in a tight chase reveal the pressure and ownership of the game a bit.

It becomes very common for batters to get out after getting a century. It's fine, you scored a well deserving century. But it becomes particularly significant in a close chase like we saw today.

Some of these guys like Agha perform when there is no chance of winning and there is no pressure on them. Once the target in sight and is expected to convert their runs into winning runs they fail. This fail against useless and pathetic team like BD should result in some soul searching for these batsman. Mind you Agha is a decent batsman for Pak, but he rarely comes across as someone who can win the matches for Pak

Yeah, he also seems to like coasting. He will score nice soft runs while never pushing for his side to win matches. Today he has multiple chances to make it happen. But failed as he doesn’t know when to take his chances

Do you know how to read? Read the article again and try to understand it. :inti

Pakistan lodged a complaint against the umpire (Dharmasena I believe). Not the BD team.

Umpires decide whether reviews proceed. Learn some cricket. :inti

Absolutely pathetic performance, unable to close games against BD.

Rizwan is bang average player , Agha tries but fails

Well deserved victory for Bangla brothers

Thank you for the entertainment
This meek mindset has not only engulfed players but also seemed to have caught Pak fans.

Brothers, really?

What is the point of even playing cricket on ground then? Just hug them on the field like Rizwan did to Litton and show brotherly love.

Mehidy Miraz didnt gave a second thought and cared about brothers before running Agha out. Neither Liton Das cared about any such brother in PC where he was clear BD is here to win.

Only Pak fans doing this brother, jhappi, pappi etc. So cringe man.

Where is the passion? Where is the aggression? Where is the emotion?

Many teams fail to close games against BD in BD. Not the first time. BD win most of their series at home.

India lost 2 ODI series in BD back to back. Aussies lost 1-4. England lost 0-3. Kiwis lost multiple series in BD as well.

A fighting century from Salman Ali Agha, supported by Saad Masood and Shaheen Shah Afridi, wasn’t enough as Pakistan fell 11 runs short against Bangladesh in the third ODI at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, on Sunday. The hosts clinched the series 2-1.

Chasing 291, Pakistan were rocked early, losing three wickets within the first three overs. Salman’s resilience kept the chase alive, guiding Pakistan deep into the contest.

On debut, Saad Masood showed maturity under pressure, adding 79 runs with Salman for the sixth wicket to steady the innings. Saad struck 38 off 44 balls with five boundaries. Later, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi joined Salman to forge a crucial 68-run stand for the eighth wicket. Shaheen’s aggressive 37 off 38 balls, featuring two fours and two sixes, brought Pakistan close to the target.

Salman was the standout performer, scoring a brilliant 106 off 98 deliveries with nine fours and four sixes. He also shared a 50-run partnership with fellow debutant Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, who contributed 29 off 38 balls. Despite his heroics, Pakistan were bowled out for 279 in the final over.

For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed starred with four wickets. Earlier, their batting was led by Tanzid Hasan’s 107 and Towhid Hridoy’s unbeaten 48, helping them post 290 for five. Haris Rauf claimed three wickets for Pakistan, while Shaheen and Abrar Ahmed picked up one apiece.

Saim Hassan Ghulam.... List goes on seems like PCB wanted to do Bangladesh a favour playing selecting a bunch of inexperienced batsmen all at once.
It's Pakistan Z team who even Pakistan dudnt recognize 😂..... its literally agha and rizwan who will play next year wc

Mohammad Amir slams selection decisions following series defeat in Bangladesh:

On losing the series against Bangladesh

"Pakistan just lost the match and, with it, the series. They lost 2-1, mirroring the way they won the previous match. While today’s game was very close, winning or losing is a different matter altogether when you consider the questions being raised about the team selection."

"The management sent 3-4 senior players along with 7-8 youngsters. Now, it feels like any team can beat us easily. I don’t recall a time when winning a series against Pakistan was this simple. While we have lost before, I mainly remember our 3-0 T20 victory over Australia; I can't recall many other recent highlights."

The Case for Salman Ali Agha

"I have been saying that Agha Salman should be the captain of the T20 and ODI formats. Just look at his innings over the last six months. He often comes in at number five when Pakistan is in a difficult situation, forced to play with the tail after the 10th or 15th over. Despite these high-pressure situations, he manages to score centuries off very few balls."

"He is a remarkably consistent performer. This is the right time to make a change. We are already worrying about who will lead us in the 2027 World Cup, but I am telling you now: make him the captain of both formats. His performance speaks for itself—just look at his T20 stats. I’ve said before that the current captaincy choice was a mistake; no other player is as consistent as Salman Ali Agha, yet he receives very little credit."

Bowling and Tactical Errors

"On a positive note, Pakistan’s bowling has improved. Where they used to concede 325–350 runs, they restricted the opposition to 290 today. Shaheen bowled much better and made a strong comeback in his second spell."

"However, let’s address the real issue. Everyone knew losing a series in Bangladesh was a possibility because the conditions are difficult. But this time, Bangladesh outsmarted us. Instead of the expected spin-friendly wickets, they provided bouncy tracks. They deceived us; we prepared for one thing, and they gave us another."

Exposing the Youngsters

"We handed debuts to four young players, but their techniques were completely exposed. Ma Sadaqat was the Man of the Match in the last game and clearly has potential, but international cricket is a different level. He was repeatedly caught out by short balls and bouncers. While Bangladesh’s pitches aren't as fast as South Africa's, even a good-length ball there can expose a weak technique."

"Then there is Sahibzada Farhan. As I mentioned in my last interview, he is a proven match-winner in T20s. However, in One Day Internationals, you need to know how to rotate the strike with singles and doubles. If your defense isn't strong, you won't survive. Very few players, like Steve Smith, can succeed with unconventional techniques. But even Smith has an incredible work ethic; he knows how to rotate the strike and can hit a six whenever he wants. He is a 360-degree player. If Farhan wants to succeed in ODIs, he needs to focus on these fundamentals."

The Value of the National Cap

"I also learned about Saad. Apparently, he was an off-spinner a few years ago until an ex-cricketer suggested he switch to leg-spin. He hasn't even played first-class cricket, yet he’s playing for the national team."

"We are making the Pakistan cap too easy to obtain. I mean no disrespect to the youngsters, but you shouldn't hand out a national jersey so quickly. If you see potential in someone, let them perform in domestic cricket for a year or two first. By fast-tracking them, you are actually destroying their confidence. If they fail now, they might vanish after two series. What happens to their learning process then? You give them a cap, they fail, and you send them home. This cycle will destroy Pakistan cricket."

"Take Ghazi Ghori, for example. He scored 38, but as a bowler, I could see many flaws in his technique. When a bowler hits 140 kph, our batsmen don't seem to know how to play forward or defend; almost all the runs today were scored through the third-man region."

Yes. I am anti-India until India become free from sanghi extremism. :inti
If any group standing up to the jee-haan-dee extrmist ideology is your defination of 'sanghi xtremism" then I guess u will be 'anti-india' till the time ur time will be up....💥🪔✌️🔥

Agha rarely performs against big teams like India
I never saw him playing good against kuldeep but got a good name for spin bashing. Thats the most idiotic stuff I ever heard. Anti rizbar fans have made funny tags for other players making it more cringe. They should accept rizbar and available options are mediocre enough that any one is same at the end.

Pakistan Team's performance is below par than associate teams....

I have not surprised as the real culprits are PCB chairman cum politicians who always bring regional politix in the game of cricket neglecting their own cricket....

Pakistan is defeated by a minnows team

Bangladesh series loss to Pakistan in early 2026 threatens Bangladesh's already low ranking (10th) and jeopardizes automatic qualification for the 2027 ODI World Cup. A loss would mean losing crucial points, making their aim to qualify for the 2027 World Cup much more difficult

That would be sweet if they fail to qualify lol

All that may now happen to associate level team which lost the series. Lost to world no. 10 ...ultimate beizzati after Us and zimb loss

Absolutely pathetic performance, unable to close games against BD.

They were 5 down with 80+ runs at one point. They did well to fight until the end. I think BD should have finished the game earlier from that position.

The Pakistan team have lodged a complaint with match referee Neeyamur Rashid following a contentious DRS in the final over of the third ODI against Bangladesh.
The issue centered around on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena's decision to permit a Bangladesh review on the penultimate ball, which seemingly bypassed standard protocols.
"The Pakistan team management believe Bangladesh took the review after a replay of the delivery flashed up on the big screen, and as a result came up (to the referee) after the game and informed (him) about their observation," a source confirmed to Cricbuzz.

"Pakistan felt Bangladesh were allowed to review outside the maximum 15 seconds (window) within which such a decision must be made," he said.
Cricbuzz understands that Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson met Rashid post-match to formally register the complaint.
While it isn't clear what outcome PCB are seeking from the complaint, insiders suggest the match referee met with Hesson and tried to explain the situation in detail, suggesting the hosts did not take any undue advantage.
The incident occurred when Pakistan, chasing 291 and nine down, needed 12 runs off two balls. Rishad Hossain sent one down the leg-side with captain Shaheen Afridi on strike, and Dharmasena called it a wide. While they can't directly review a wide call, Bangladesh appealed for an lbw, forcing the decision to be sent upstairs.
Replays showed a spike on the UltraEdge when the ball was next to the bat, which led to the wide being overturned. Even though Bangladesh lost the review, it all but secured the game for them. It is to be noted that there was no timer shown on the broadcast.
Pakistan's objection likely stemmed from the fact that the initial wide call allowed Bangladesh to see the big-screen replay and make a decision, which should otherwise be taken without any assistance and within the stipulated time.
Shaheen was stumped off the final ball, handing Bangladesh an 11-run win, and a 2-1 series victory.
In the post-match presentation, Shaheen did not mention the incident, lauding Rashid's bowling and congratulating Bangladesh on the series win, their first in ODIs against Pakistan after 11 years

Farhan has too many limitations @Raja Ishtiaq @RizwanT20Champ
He is a minnow basher. People run away when I post his stats vs SENAI even in T20I and give all kinds of excuses. He is a very limited player and even in his T20 WC minnow bashing, he consistently had slow starts like 40(30) before he accelerated to end up with a decent SR on paper - funnily enough the same criticism that was hurled against RizBar. Even in the T20 WC, Farhan played 2 innings vs SENAI and averaged 30 odd at a crap SR. He gets away with minnow bashing.

Inds are now trying to manufacture fights between BD team and Pak team. We need to be careful of this design. Even the pitches in Mirpur which I thought would be bad turned out to be very good. Best to ignore these jokers. They are just isolated and jealous. No one likes them. See Aus, SA, Eng etc also making comments about them. Only Afg clowns like them.

ODI’s are BD’s favourite format, great win for them, qualified for WC to now? @sweep_shot congrats

Thanks.

Direct qualification cutoff time is in 2027. So, there is still a bit of time left.

Looks like one from West Indies and Bangladesh may have to play in the qualifier. As of now, BD are ahead (after this series win).

He is not even fit to be in team

Ahmed Shehzad said on his YouTube channel:

“After the pathetic T20 World Cup campaign, you did not make any changes. You brought youngsters out of nowhere. Now you have lost the series, and you are giving excuses of having youngsters in the playing XI, when you don’t accept your mistakes, you will never move ahead in life.”

“When you won the toss, why did you decide to bowl? It was a good pitch. You should have batted and put runs on the board, then bowled under lights, when your senior players behave like this, what do you expect from the youngsters?”

“You are becoming an associate team. People are now treating Pakistan like Zimbabwe. And then you say we crashed out of the World Cup due to the run rate. Have some shame.”

Shaheen's inability to rotate strike against the Bangladeshi spinners is what cost us the game. All an offspinner has to do is to bowl straight to him. Shaheen should have been able to handle the equation in the final over especially given that it was a spinner bowling to him. Had Naseem Shah been the batter he would have been able to smash Rishad.

Pakistan lodge official complaint about Bangladesh's review at end of chase

Pakistan have complained to match referee Neeyamur Rashid over the on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena's decision to allow Bangladesh to take an lbw review off the penultimate ball of the third ODI in Mirpur. ESPNcricinfo has learnt the Pakistan management registered their complaint on the grounds that they believe Bangladesh took the review after a replay of the delivery flashed up on the big screen.

The decision to take the review, and its ultimate consequences helped Bangladesh assume an unassailable position in the game. Before that delivery, Pakistan needed 12 to win off two balls. Rishad Hossain flighted one up onto leg stump that spun down the leg side, away from Shaheen Afridi. The umpire called it a wide as it went down leg. After brief discussions, Bangladesh decided to take a review for lbw, even though, to the naked eye, the ball was nowhere near Afridi's legs or any part of his body.
However, the reason for Afridi's visible frustration became clear as soon as the DRS went to Hawk-Eye, with a spike at the moment the ball passed the bottom of his bat, suggesting it had kissed the toe end and could not, therefore, be a wide. Bangladesh lost the review, but the wide decision was reversed and the equation became 12 in one ball. Afridi was stumped off the final delivery and swung his bat over the stumps in frustration. It secured victory for Bangladesh by 11 runs, and a 2-1 series win.

It is not yet clear yet what action the PCB wants from the match referee, though it is believed they expect at minimum a public acknowledgment that an error was made.

The decision is the second in as many games Pakistan have felt they may have come out the wrong side of. Salman Agha was run-out after being caught outside his crease trying to hand the ball to Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the second ODI. Agha's frustration spilled over and he had heated words before throwing his bat and gloves down, earning him a demerit point and a 50% match fee fine. Mehidy was fined 20% of his match fee for that incident.

Normal protocols mandate that a decision about a review be made before any replays are visible to players to prevent them influencing the decision to review. However, with the assumption there was no case for a review as the said delivery was initially given a wide, Pakistan have argued those normal protocols were not followed, with the big screen at the stadium showing the ball passing the bat, and potentially giving Bangladesh enough information to suggest it may have made contact. Pakistan are also understood to be aggrieved at the possibility Bangladesh were allowed to review outside the maximum 15 seconds within which such a decision must be made. No timer appeared on the broadcast, so whether Bangladesh reviewed in time could not be independently confirmed.
