I firmly believe avoiding an innings defeat will be a victory for the Pakistan team. I strongly believe we have the willpower and strength to score 300 or whatever the deficit ends up being and giving them atleast a 2 run target.

Come on Pakistan!!!

Get ready for he cake cutting celebrations, "boys played well", and bhangra in the pakistani dressing room if we do avoid innings defeat.

Stop with this, even if it’s sarcastic.

There’s no goddamn blessing in disguises or moral wins. We got smashed, tossed and DDT’d into the reality that we have no business playing anyone with this grade 2 level bowling attack.

What a pathetic and negative mindset, just like Misbah's .

Why not scoring more than 100 runs in 4th inning would be a victory .

In good old days, winning or at least saving a test match used to be the target.

I firmly believe avoiding an innings defeat will be a big boost for our team before we get smashed vs SA.

It actually depends on when Kiwis decide to declare, our bowlers have already decided they are not taking any more wickets.

Considering how poorly Shaheens are performing against a completely unknown NZL A team, I think any kind of fight by any Pakistan team should be taken as a positive.

Be practical and face facts. Why do I tell you this? Because me as an Indian fan faced plenty of such facts in the 90's. You play a Test match to win it, if that is out of possibility, you try to draw it. If you lose a Test, there is no blessing in disguise. We were garbage away from home in the 90's, and I've faced plenty of such situations.

Yeah reminds me of the time when i just used to wait for the opposition to declare, worst is I started feeling similarly under Dhoni’s captaincy before Virat took over.

Come on ppers. When these kind of threads do exist, you guys really can't blame anyone for mocking about "blessing in disguise", "moral victory".

how old are you?

Why are Pak fans so happy with consolation prizes after a huge defeat?

We cannot win anything with such a pathetic bowling attack that is now going to let a second batsmen reach 300 in the space of 2 years.

They're surely going to be innings defeated here, unless Azhar Ali notches up a 150+ with support from Rizwan and company.

This series more than the Australia and England tours has highlighted how big the gulf between us and the top sides is. We hope in our hearts that we will bat out 2 days and save the game but honestly this team would find a way to fail even if do that even if it was as flat as the Antigua pitch Lara scored 400 on. It is good for batting on if you are willing to put in the hard work, but the fact there is still something in it for the bowlers and that unlike us NZ actually have an attack that can take 20 wickets means its only a matter of time before wickets come even if Pak have a good session or 2.

Is there any Pak fan above 17 on this forum, except probably admins?

I turned 24 in December and I'm one of the younger ones.
Most of the fans on this forum are above 30. The teenage fans here are pretty recent

Inevitable bump worthy content produced by a Pakistan fan yet again. Y’all’ hate Mamoon attacking Pakistan cricket but we bring it on ourselves with threads like this.

I see you haven’t read it properly. He’s being sarcastic.

Pakistan hav 0% chance of taking this to a draw, be very surprised they cross 200.

Poor performance. Shan needs to be thrown out and that rubbish Naseem.

unless there is a magical 350 from someone I don't see Pakistan saving this match. In fact, Pakistan has to first save themself from inning defeat

I don't know what to say at this point but NZ will win today i reckon and if we are lucky it drags to the last day. If NZ don't play Matt Henry with the new ball then pak players should smash him. Biggest threat of course is Kyle.

I hope Fawad can play another inconsequential innings in a losing cause so that his fans can distribute mithai over his stats boosting performance.

He is as responsible for this whitewash as any other player. He failed in both first innings and set Pakistan up for defeats.

As Op said - a draw will be a like a win here.

I have a bad feeling again.

But these days I'm kind of getting used to see us losing.

Looks like it will be another loss.

Can- with help of rain and some strong batting.. its not easy to bat last 2 days of atest match but when nothing is expected from PCT they shine..

Our chances are 'Slim' & 'None'
'Slim' is in Pakistan Self isolating and Hiding.
Therefore we have no chance to even avoid an innings defeat.
:facepalm
