Can Pakistan still qualify for the knockout phase of Champions Trophy 2025?

Bharat will beat NZ…

So you think that after having qualified for the semi finals, Bharat would on behalf of Pakistan defeat New Zealand so that Pakistan can qualify for the semi final and allow them a potential opportunity to face us in the final and do a repeat of 2017?

Do you honestly think we are this generous?

NZ deserve to go through, why would anyone in their right mind want Pakistan to go through with this filth representing them?

A simple question for those still calculating Pakistan’s chances—why do you even want them to stay in this tournament?

It was over the day this squad was announced.

Imagine Pakistan go through to the semis only having beaten Bangladesh in this tournament

Pak has no realistic chance. They should start focusing on their next event - tour to NZ . Should be like Eng revamp after their 2015 WC disaster.
England got lucky. Roy, Hales and Butler were generational talents for them and bairstow hit a purple patch at the right time and Morgan was always their best left handed batter since debut.

Otherwise they weren't that good. Root was a liability in that team and eventually Hales replaced him post 2019. Stokes himself is bang avg, He gets elevated to some atg status cause he managed to play an atg innings and win England 2 cups but both required alot of luck, poor fielding and they were outliers that came at the right time.

Moeen Ali is just a pinch hitter, and plunkett + archer hard carried the bowling lineup. Chris woakes has handy at no 8 as well.

After these guys fizzled out they got exposed eventually. Harry Brooks is the most overrated player I've ever seen. Roy in his prime was better then him. This dude is the definition of an ultra flat track bully.

Phil Salt is a brainless hack, he's only good for t20, Jamie smith isn't anything special either. And malan was garbage, overrated fraud.

Since 2019 they've only found one good batter in Ben duckett and that's it.

You do know that CT 17 was won like that right? The match against sri lanka?
They had 2 points before sri lanka. They won against sa. And claiming Pakistan would have lost of their wasn't any rain is naive.

They were 119/3 chasing 219. They still had 23 overs to get 100 runs and babar was set on 31 not out with malik set as well.

100 runs in 23 overs wasn't a big deal. Their were ironically more chances of winning that game then winning sri lanka game lol.

Here they have zero points and NZ will kick Bangladesh and pakistan out today.

Bangladeshi pacers have reduced NZ to 19/2 in pursuit of 236.

If NZ lose both this and the match against IND and PAK beat BD, will it be the greatest comeback in the history of ICC tournaments ?

Nothing beats what happened in 2022, nothing.

And no, Pakistan won’t qualify even if Bangladesh win and NZ lose to India.

Even if this happens, I think Pakistan needs to win by a huge margin against Bangladesh, which might not be possible.

Will still depend on run rate. Pakistan have suffered two heavy defeats, NZ even if they lose will lose by tiny margin. Both NZ and Bangladesh will still have higher run rate.

Eng may not be the # 1 side, but they will be in the top 3 along with Ind and Aus in winning any ICC events. I believe one of these 3 teams will win all ICC events atleast for the next 10 years with maybe an occasional surprise like NZ but dominated mostly by either Aus or Ind.

Part of life.

Commiserations brothers. Remember only one team wins, rest are all losers just like you.

Commiserations, hopefully things get better once Pakistani Team management realise that the current superstars are frauds.

Team should be built around Saim, Fakhar, Agha, Abrar, Khushdil.

As expected two of the weakest teams eliminated now it's the real heavyweights contests may the best team wins the tournament

Not saying this as dig at Pakistan establishment but this may work in their favor; one more week of hosting with presidential security, blocking roads etc would be very heavy on the pockets. In a way I am sure this is a good thing: yes Pak winning and being in finals would be a totally different context. However this has worked out for the best I feel.

Gutted not just that we are out of the tourney.. these things happen. Its the manner of our defeats which is just upsetting. There's no other word for it. As someone who has been invested in Pak cricket for over 35 years now I'm just upset. Either we don't want to learn from our mistakes or we are just not capable of doing so.

I'm now looking forward to an India/Aus final and Kohli vs Smith again. These guys aren't going to be around much longer so its good to see them play QUALITY cricket.

So far despite Pakistan's exit its been a thoroughly enjoyable tournament.

I believe Pakistan lost when they announced this team, not sure why you would try remaking the team which was doing OK (3 ODI's series win in a row and all on the road) by choosing random players out of nowhere. What purpose Faheem and Usman served in the team???? Just one albeit a major outtage (Saim) and Pakistan think tank fell apart. I give this loss to both the players but 70% to the selectors which handicapped the team before the tournament even started.

Thank you for the great show Pakistan.:apology

Maybe the real Champions Trophy was the friends you made along the way.
