Incredibly and unlikely as it sounds - it is probably not happening but would make for an epic comeback.

IMO - SAF got lucky with the rain today but hopefully this rain gives them confidence to put on a better show with the bat moving forward.

Still incredibly hard to stop Kohli and Dhawan though....

Atlast rain helped Sa in something after so many years😛, but on the topic it makes series interesting. I hope kohli scores again otherwise we have no chance. Middle order is non existent.

No.

The top three will continue to do some heavy damage and the bowlers will be good enough to see it through. Kohli and Dhawan are in unreal form, while Sharma might go off any match. SA might eek out another win though.

Already 3-1 so need bit of luck maybe and i feel they have really good chance with ab back in their side.

From indian side team looks totally dependent on dhawan and virat and rohit, pandya & rahane will have to fire in next match.

Indian middle order helped a lot too.

As for the thread, less chance! However, SA turned things against England from 0-2 to 3-2 and that involved one match where Morris turned the game on a pink day which what inspired SA to win the series eventually.

Anyways, my prediction: 4-2!

Why is Faf and De Kock not playing?

3-3 highly unlikely .... today's win was gift from the God .... in the form of Rain !!!!!!!!!

Faf is a miss
De Kock being out is blessing in disguise

Why is that? :danish

He feasted on the indian trundlers back when they toured SAF in 2013 - I believe he scored 3 consecutive ODI centuries against them.

Well, they are no more trundlers now.

They've made it 3-1 from a very tight situation. If Morkel and Ngidi carry on playing alongside Rabada and if the batsmen play better, then sure, why not.

They can easily win. It is almost like India has just 2 batsmen. That's it. Everyone else is crap. If law of averages catch up to them India will simply implode. Actually SA should have never been in this situation when only 2 batsmen from the opposition are firing. Lot of credit goes to two spinners. Even today i am not sure SA would have chased successfully if there were no rain. It was well below par total. Still they could have been in awful situation despite rain advantage had Iyer taken that catch.

Nah,they got lucky today.No ball,drop catch.
Wet ball hindering spinners on a flat pitch.
Above all small target -almost a t20 match. If they had to chase 289 they could have easily lost with 5 down.

Totally agree !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly the Saffers have made these Indian spinners look better than they really are.

They did well against Australia, NZ, Srilanka everyone in tandem. Chahal has been playing for IPL for few seasons. AB Deviliers and Chahal both play for RCB. Chahal bowls to AB in the nets a lot.

Obviously why not? this depleted side is still better than India!

Even the full strength side would never win in world tournaments, getting owned in every world tournament from 1999, and yet you claim they are better, reaching the finals would be a big thing for them.

nope. the ball was wet and difficult to grip for chahal and kuldeep. if a dry surface is provided, india will win 5-1

They can but looks improbable.

If they want to , then they have to get Indian top order cheaply in next two games.

Good SA won, showed Kohli weakness in middle order batting. Hope they address this concern before WC !

They can but India just need to win 1 out of these 2 to become the first asian team to win an ODI series of 5 or more than 5 matches in South Africa.

Indian middle order is extremely fragile, so if the bowlers can get out kohli and dhawan then not impossible to square the series.

That's not a record.

Real record is winning a series in a place the first time not the number of matches.

They might our batting is too dependant on kohli and now Dhawan is the only other person in form.. If they get these two out early they can win..

They surely can, India missed a great opportunity to shut the series on SA but failed to do so. They should have scored around 340 in 50 overs in the last game, considering the par score there in recent times have been 290 odd. Still I think India will win one out of the remaining two games to take the series.

3-3 seems more possible now that SA have won one. Instead of winning 3 more, need to win just 2. AB and Amla have to step up though. Not every match will we see newbies take charge.

Not impressed by SA at all. Amla seems to be past his best, AB is hit or miss and Faf is out. Rest are nobodies. Things could not Get easier for India and when you add the spinners then sone pe suhaga.

Winning an ODI series in South Africa is special and that too beating the number 1 ranked ODI team in their home. Now India should try to win the last ODI too to become the number 1 ODI ranked team.

Yes, very easy to win against Amla, AB, Miller, Tahir, Rabada, Morne, Morris, etc. Expecting Pakistan, which is a superior team to all, to win 5-0 here next year. :asif

Bro! India will be no 1 regardless of whether SA lose or win last ODI.

Yeah just came to know about that. I heard Mike Haysman saying that India have to win both the matches to stay at number 1.

Correct ... Haysman or Pommi said in commentary yesterday Ind needed to win last 2 ODI's to stay at No. 1.

Haysman and Pommi are unofficial cheerleaders of SA team, both keep hyping mediocre players
